I don't think he could, since technically he doesn't own the screengrabs, they are Universals' property so to speak, since it's not his movie. I don't think that would really apply in Russia either.

That's another good reason
I will only sue people that put direct link to my pictures or copy/paste the texts on my site, but that's all. (it hasn't happened yet but it might be the case, seeing that it's becoming more and more popular - there was a huge increase of visitors in december, now there are 300 to 400 visitors by day, that's a lot! And I'm fearing for the bandwith...)

They're not the only one who used the pictures on my site...
Look at this page :
http://russ_mooney.tripod.com/russsite/
Funny to see that people who actually worked on it used my pictures too...

That's cool. I wish the US would get something like that. In widescreen, no more of the standard formatted version.

Yeah. Heh. It's also funny to see people who worked on it who still use pagebuilders, and horribly bright font.

The dvds are in its original aspect ratio (at least, i think it are)
Balto 1 - 1.78:1 (16x9)
Balto 2 and 3 - 1.33:1 (4x3)

Quote: here in brazil, Balto movies have an special edition in 2-disc dvd including the both movies (balto 1 and 2) and it isnot fake.
It was also released in the major countries of Europe. I'm wondering why Universal is releasing so many packs for Land before time and didn't consider to make one for B1 & 2 in the US. Maybe they just want to make more money (buying the dvds separately is more expensive)

I bought mine together as a set, but they were both individual dvds. They were cheaper that way though.

Is hard to understand that maketing strategy...
I think a lot of Balto fans have inported the latin special edition because it have a somethings that the american edition (like cheap price* and the 30 min making of) and it are also encoded for region 1.... now our Balto 3 dvd are horrible, with a lot of problems like color banding, no subtitles and there is a problem in the menus and the bonus features just apper in the english menus and we also lose the region 1 encoding... so the region 1 dvd will be now better than the latin edition.
Thiago
*Here in brazil this special dvd costs about 14 us dollars.

Just like everywhere... I don't think it's that horrible. I rarely use the subtitles, the bonus features are only...bonus features (besides, the US DVD will got exactly the same extras, so...), and I've noticed the color problem only when taking screenshots. The quality is OK for a DVD to me.
Hopefully you don't have the french dvd, with is the same as everywhere but has glitches on the cover, bad translations and horrible french songs...

steetboris wrote: I don't think it's that horrible. I rarely use the subtitles... I Use it almost all the time, even in portuguese (my language) im a hard of understand what people say, so the subtitling or closed captioning is very helpful for me. steetboris wrote: the bonus features are only...bonus features I Agree with you, but if you put it in english, why not put it also in another languges? our child can´t have a bit of fun with balto games that are include in the englis menus??? anh! that game is very noticed in the cover, so coul also fit an false publicity .... steetboris wrote: and I've noticed the color problem only when taking screenshots. I will use a little of thechinical language now... here in brasil we use NTSC for dvd, there in france is SECAM/PAL, im right? so our dvds are not the same... it is produced from diferent "masters" or , sometimes, the universal studios have the awful way of put an SECAM/PAL movie for be converted for NTSC, what will cause an very poor image in the NTSC tv. And the "conection" you use to conect your dvd player to tv will also change the final result (if you play the dvd in the pc the result will always be the same: lot of color banding), if you use composite video, the banding will be lost a little in the cable (and also some video quality too) but if you use an better connection, the video will be the most waht are are recorded in the dvd, so the banding will be very perceivable, maily in the night scenes... of course... the dvd are not an level maximum banding dvd (like the hoorible banding of the Disney´s Brother Bear NTSC discs) but the banding is very perceiveable in the balto 3 disc. steetboris wrote: indon't have the french dvd, with is the same as everywhere but has glitches on the cover, bad translations and horrible french songs...
And what i can say abou the brazilian edition? The translation are not so horrible, but the dubbing... just an example, is pratically impossible hear the opening song because the "dubbing narrator" keeps talking all the writings of the opening scene during the music... just horrible...
