That's a good idea. We could write the script and storyboard, and animate as much of it as we can (for fear that IF Universal animates the movie itself, it will just mess it up even more), send it to Universal saying that all they have to do is get the voices and record the background music (no songs, hopefully, and if there have to be, we will make sure that they are good) and there we go. But it's just a dream in my young, ambitious head.

LBT is still coming out with Sequals? Their not even that good anymore (personal opinion) I have the first 8 or 9 but i don't even watch them anymore. I used to like them but now. . .
T.V. Series. . .. I don't think they will need movies anymore after that.

Rotromel's writing and Jennahuskie or Pample's drawing.

I can't believe that they're still producing LBT, I've only seen the first one! I mean come on 9 sequels? That’s just ridiculous. I wish they would another Balto movie though to make up for Wolf Quest at least. If you ask me the dug themselves in a hole because people bought the second one assuming it was as good as the first, this is what they counted on to sell WQ. Then I think they must have made some money from it because we now have Balto III Wings Of Change. (Which thankfully they did a much better job with!). I can't even understand how Universal could say that marketing Balto is an issue seeing as I didn't even know Wings of Change existed before I bought the original DVD on Amazon.

Quote: JennaHuskie PostPosted: Fri Mar 10, 2006 12:31 am Post subject: Tell you what though... I'll bet if they made a Balto:special edition (like Disney does) it would increase sales a bit. Ok, like you know how when Disney takes old, forgotten movies off the shelves for a very long time, then make a special edition, everyone wants the movie like an addiction? Well, Balto's already hard enough to find, right? So what if they took it COMPLETELY off the market for a while, then made a special edition? I think that's an idea, huh? At least it's something, right? Smile
I think Universal could learn a thing to two from Disney in that respect. But I think that something they both seem to have in common is making sequels just to make them (LBT for example) giving no thought to the depth of the story or characters as this was the case with WQ. (This is my opinion although overall it was okay...) As long as they make money I suppose they’ll keep churning out sequels. A Collectors Edition would be great if they included some extras with it like Disney did with TLK (Especially on the DVD’s which I found to be seriously lacking in that department.)

Anyway, before I mailed it, I asked Mr. Ross in a little subnote to please give our petition to anyone else that may be able to help us out. That may explain how we got our reply from Phil Weinstein. Phil told us he didn't know of any news on Balto 4. He also told us that he HOPED TO RETURN TO Universal to continue the franchise; meaning Phil probably left sometime after the first movie, or went through with the entire series.
Glenn Ross, on the other hand, gave us a little more of a candid reply, but perhaps there may still be a way for Universal to allow for some more merchandise. Fewmets, how much is "enough" anyway? Yes, you may be right, in fact I never thought about this possibility. (that they showed the petition to Phil) He said he hoped to return because he was the director of Balto 2 & 3, but he wasn't involved in the first one. Quote: heh, unfortunately, even the entire Balto fanbase on this website wouldn't be enough. Universal does have a point (and I may make a few mad with this comment) There really is no need for a Balto 4. To Universal, it isn't finacially worth the time and effort.
The problem is that the petition never asked for a Balto 4, which is what they understood. We asked for a Special Edition DVD (as some of you said), merchandise, a pack etc...And all these wouldn't cost as much as making a 4th. Quote: But, what if WE made a Balto 4? Stop dreaming, we don't have 4 Millions of dollars. At most, we could make a sort of mix of a fanfic and fanarts, with some music. Quote: Well, Balto's already hard enough to find, right? So what if they took it COMPLETELY off the market for a while, then made a special edition?
Yes, this could work, but they will never do this. They think Special Editions don't interest children. You just have to see the types of extras they put on the Dvds. It's already a miracle that the Region 2 DVD is in widescreen...
I still strongly think that releasing a real Special Edition DVD for Balto 1 would make big sales.

XD It's like we're trying to piece together a puzzle or something!! I bet Mr. Ross gave Phil a copy of our letters just to see what he thought -- but you could sort of tell in his reply that that he, too, had his doubts about making a fourth movie. But what they all have in common, is that they both think that we WANT them to make another sequal. Which would be nice, of course, but that wasn't the whole reason why we went the petition in the first place...which pretty much brings us back to square one again.
I dunno -- perhaps we should send them one more letter just to elaborate more?

Too bad,I really expected to this.Balto isn't popular as other movies cartoons...we gave our best..guys?have you got any ideeas what can we do now???How can we amke Balto popular?
In my oppnion, the movie broadcasting don't has to be that expensive..and more merchanndise needs to be made..Balto plush,T-shirts..etc...and i think cause we have to act fast, before Balto will die along with American Tail .
P.S.Steet you don't have to kill yourself. XD

Maybe we talked so much about what should go in the sequal that Universal just misinterpreted our point. I think we should sent one last letter.

Unless they have only read that page, all the other pages talked about other products. No, I just think that Glenn Ross is managing the films before anything else, that may be the reason.

Then perhaps we are talking to the wrong people...?

Yes, and no. I mean, yes they are making the films, but this is them who ask the other sections of Universal to do other tasks. This is them who take the major decisions. For example, they are responsible of the Land before time films, but after they've done the films, they ask the Home Video section to make the DVD (extras), there is also a section which is responsible of the distribution of the films, and finally, there's the Consumer Groups to get licensees for making merchandise.
Now, I didn't really want to say it, but I've sent the petition by email to the Consumer Groups, the same day we received that answer. In fact, I planned to do that the day before, so it was a coincidence. I didn't want to talk about it, because I only wanted to tell this if we would get an answer. But well. I don't have much hope in this, because as I said, they're not the ones who take the decisions.

I get what you're saying; and it was good of you to do that. But I believe we'll be needing to do much more than send a few letters to persuade them to start up another Balto franchise. *sighs* Well, this may require more time, effort, and thought that we first expected.
