But think about it, how old is Balto? (Okay, maybe not . . .)

Maybe they are half brothers? That would be a possibly. Maybe Aniu originally had pups with another wolf, but something happened to him (death most likely, since wolves keep one mate for life in a pack) that caused her to mate with Balto's husky father.

So it still could be possible that Balto and Nava are related. (I guess since Balto is a half-breed, he probably didn't receive that "magic" gene that Aniu and Nava use. That's my theory anyways.)

Well, that seems impossible (since at least a couple of years must have passed since the original film IMO, because Aleu is a year old at the end (Boris mentions this to Balto near the hunter scene), but his age is never known in the original.). Yeah, he looks that way though (blame the animation . . . Balto is probably supposed to be at least five years old or something by the end of WQ) . . . .

Remember that B3 takes place three years after the original. So if he was 5 years old in WQ, he would be 6 or more in WoC...that's a lot.
