I highly doubt that the animators would change his coat just because he was getting older! Honestly, I don't think they would make the animated movie so realistic, but this is just my opinion.

It's like the animators for Simba's Pride had no clue what they were doing. And they called themselves experts! Ha! Guess the same can be said for it's story line. Romeo and Juliet, anybody? That stuff is so not for kids, let alone sane adults and teens around here.

Ha, I always wanted the Nurse to be integrated into Simba's Pride somehow, have some old hilarious bat-crazy lioness be Kiara's caretaker because Nala has royal duties to do. Yeah, the core of R&J is tragic and adult, but there is a ton of humor with character's like Mercutio. I think Roiffalo is right about them being too lazy to use the eye dropper tool, it's pretty ridiculous too. Strange how they can't get Simba or Nala right, but when Scar appears in the river all his coloring is correct.

I think Breeze The Collie means the bit in which Kovu sees Scar as his reflection. Not sure though ^^'

I know the first was based on Hamlet, but who uses Hamlet as inspiration? If you ask me it was brilliant and well executed, where the second movie straight up knocks off one of the most over done stories of all. Time. My opinion may be fairly biased considering I really don't like the R&J story in general, but you're certainly correct about it not being a great example for today's youth. Yeah, the core of R&J is tragic and adult, but there is a ton of humor with character's like Mercutio. Aww man if there was any hope for that movie it was a Nurse character! XD Quick! Someone make it a fanfic! Yeah instead of Mercutio we get Timon and Pumbaa. Who aren't completely terrible, and are of appropriate humor for the intended audience.

I've actually seen some Lion King II fanart where they're anthros and someone drew them in clothes of the appropriate time era. Imagine if they took inspiration for mercutio in the Romeo + Juliet "modern" remake.

^ That actually sounds kind of awesome.
That would've been HILARIOUS. I think it would've been an improvement, myself.
