Though Dmitri had begun to turn away from the red dragon's location, he suddenly realized there was another being nearby... too close for comfort. A silent rumble escaped his throat as he looked closely around him. Through the thick density of the trees, the black dragon could see a two-legged girl. He growled faintly, unable to decide which was a worse one to meet. The red dragon or the human girl. Neither seemed like a fantastic option. All Dmitri's life, he had never been able to trust a human. Never. Any time he did, he instantly regretted it. And nearly the same went for dragons not of his kind. A sigh escaped his scaled snout as he contemplated.

He could always try escaping quietly and see how that worked out. The girl seemed just to have woken up from a nap of sorts, and the dragon nearby - from what Dmitri could tell by sound and smell - was injured or tired. Which, he couldn't tell. But either way, now was as good a chance as any. He continued walking away, not truly realizing that his growl had alerted the human girl to his presence.

The red dragon's nostrils flared at the scent he picked up: another dragon was nearby. And to make matters worse, this one seemed to be a male and was clearly much larger than he was. Not wanting to start a fight with the opposer in the territory that he thought belonged to him, the dragon hastily pulled himself to his feet, earning himself a wince of pain, and headed South of his location: towards the village of Berk. Though he hated the idea of resting in the woods closest to the Vikings' village, that seemed like the best choice for now.

'Ah, good' Atlas thought and pulled his head back. The large Nightfury dragon sat down and waited for the little human to make her move.

She turned delicately, trying not to startle Atlas. Ashling scanned the area, and took a few steps toward where she'd heard the noise, but stopped.

(I thought I'd join in. Is everyone a dragon except Feathervenom btw?)

Angel was flying by when he saw a Night Fury with a human. This isnt good... She flew down a few meters out of sight, but enough to see what was going on. She soon recognized the dragon - it was Atlas. What does he think he's doing!? He's going to get caught by that human! She couldn't let him do it - she jumped out between the human and Atlas, and growled at the human.
That'll teach her!

OOC: No, I believe DragonArmy's Cassie is a human also.

Dmitri had been about ready to take flight when he noticed that the red dragon seemed to be moving further away. Or if nothing else, his scent was growing weaker. This was a good sign. Now the only trouble the gold marked dragon had to deal with was the hu- He stopped dead in his tracks. Now there was yet another human, and Dmitri could sense a night fury nearby. He had never actually seen one with his own eyes, but he had heard enough stories to recognize one if he saw it.

Then, to make matters worse, another human presence became apparent. Dmitri growled I'm frustration. What in Helheim had he gotten himself into? Coming to a new island had been a mistake. Maybe not as big an error as the one he would've made had he stayed on his home island, but still. It seemed his problem with the second human was short-lived, though, as another dragon suddenly appeared from nowhere and got in the way of both the two-legged and the reptile. Hmm, this should be interesting, he thought to himself.

Noticing Ashling's slight movement away from him, Atlas turned his scaly head to the direction she was facing...
A figure that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere obscured Atlas' vision of the girl. The large dragon jumped a bit, startled by the sudden arrival of another large dragon. The newcomer began growling lowly at Ashling and Atlas felt his brow furrow and his nose scrunched up as the male Nightfury bared his teeth at the intruder.

Ashling's honey-shaded eyes widened as the Nightfury suddenly appeared. She took a step back, but wasn't quite sure what to do. She'd never been confronted by a Nightfury, nor did she know what its reason for aggression was. She didn't want to run in case it gave chase. She simply held it's gaze, letting a single noise go - a snap of her fingers, then two. With any hope, her personal dragon would have heard and come to her.

(I don't know of any other humans in the rp - we have a mild shortage xD)

Cassie waited until the dragon in the bushes was distracted again by the commotion in the woods, then scurried closer to the commotion. She looked out from behind a tree next to the clump of bushes where the wild dragon was.
There were definitely two dragons in a stand off, and a smaller figure as well. Could that be...? Cassie thought. But if it is, should i help? I dont want to get mixed up in a dragon fight. Im late enough as it is, and explaining the reason for my battle wounds to mum wont be too fun.

"Step away from her," Atlas growled and lowered his reptilian body to the ground. After a few hours of walking through the dense woods to his cliff-side home, Atlas had to deal with the surging pain of his injured wing; after the human came along, she offered him her help, but now there was another dragon in the way.
Atlas wasn't very fond of humans, the killed off most of his kind anyway, but if this little human was going to be all the help he would be able to get, then he'd protect her at all costs.

The other, smaller red dragon stopped and turned his long, elfin ears toward the distinct sound of dragons growling. He didn't want to end up getting caught up in the fight that was sure to go down, but his curiosity got the better of him. Keeping in mind that not too far from his position was larger male dragon, the red on spread his tired wings and took to the skies. Soaring over tree tops, he flew to where he had heard the sounds and, sure enough, there were two dragons in a stand off with a human female in front of them. At first, he believed the two were growling at the human, but after a few seconds, he could clearly see that the red one in the back was threatening the other dragon.
"Atlas?!" the airborne dragon said to himself, recognizing the crimson-scaled Nightfury down below. He landed in a near-by tree to rest his tired wings and to watch what was about to go down.

Despite the excitement everyone else - and Dmitri could tell that both the human girl who had previously been sleeping and the dragon he had been weary of before were watching the oncoming fight - was experiencing, Dmitri only saw this as a problem. But what could he do about it? He wasn't about to make an idiotic move and try to break up whatever was starting. He would have, had the human not been apart of the equation, but being as that wasn't the case, the black dragon felt more than a little hesitant at even bothering to interfere.

But he couldn't exactly fly off without being noticed. And as long as he remained on this island, he preferred to be seen as little as possible. On his old home, being seen only once by a few humans and dragons was what did it. They had chased after him ever since. He wasn't about to let that lesson go to waste. And so he stayed put for the moment, unsure of what his next move should be. All he knew was that his trust was a thick line almost impossible to cross. It took quite a lot to get him to open up or even approach other beings. Whether they were his kind or any kind in between.

Angel could see that the human was a bit shaky, but overall she seemed very calm. Atlas didn't look like he was threatened by her either. Hmmm... Angel looked at Atlas who was growling a bit - the one thing you don't want is to anger a Night Fury, cuz that meant a fight, and a Nadder against a Night Fury never ends well - She took a step towards Atlas. "What are you doing? And did you get hurt?" Angel asked Atlas.

"No," Atlas said, a bit of a growl still in hi voice. He let up the aggressive look, letting his brow return to normal and let his lip fall back over his pink gums. "She was helping me, Angel," he added in a tone to make her believe him.

In the tree, the other dragon felt his muscles relax. "Looks like I don't have to get involved after all," he said o himself and flew down near Atlas and Angel.

"I guess it's not really any of my business, huh? Sorry for interfering. So, who's the girl?"
She circled around Ashling sniffing and pushing her nose against her butt and frontside.

Cassie jumped when the dragon flew down the hillside towards the other dragons, but took the opportunity to creep closer down the hill. She ducked under a low branch covered in ivy.

"Stop it," Atlas said to the female dragon and stepped closer to Ashling. "She's just...she's just here to help me." The male unfurled his left wing to show her the damage; he instantly winced, regretting even moving the appendage. "I broke my wing earlier and when I arrived at my home, she was here."

"Atlas," the red dragon called, causing his associate to turn his head over to him. "Who's the girl?" he asked, tilting his head toward the Nadder circling around the human.

"Just Angel," Atlas replied. "And she was just leaving. Weren't you, Angel?" The Nightfury quickly placed a leg between the two-legged dragon, blocking Ashling from her poking nose.
