Not really; Universal is a movie company -- not a video game one. They'd have to pay if UNIVERSAL wanted another company to make a video game based on their movie. Not to mension most video game review magazines are getting stricter and are putting a tighter leash on the new games that are comming out for next generation consoles.

Who said they should make a game on the next generation consoles? Considering the high costs, this is very unlikely - impossible would be the good word. But making a game on PC or on the portable consoles (GBA, DS), and maybe on the Playstation 2 would be possible.
Anyway, Universal does have its own developing teams (Universal Interactive Studios), but strangely they very rarely make games based on their own movies. Most of the time, they just let other companies to make games based on them. (A recent example : King Kong made by UbiSoft)

so doesn't that mean that they would get a cut of the profits?

No, Because the best movie based games were on the SNES and Genesis. Sidescrolling is the only way for a kids movie to make a good game. Though, some of the starwars games were amazing..(ex) Battlefront 1/2 Republic Commando rogue Squadron, Dark Force..and so on you know most of em..i mean its possible but not likly.

for the movie thing I at least fell a love with Dune Games...there is Dune Movie made even a topic from it and it's based in the game expect weirder way and I love that game serie!
And donno anything from Balto games...I think it would be good idea but there is not good idea to make a one...it could be something boring or something near like that...

Actually i posted a yes because i know alot of people think it is true that games made from movies can be weard in ways but some people like me can think of different ways in this situation. One thing is you think of a game being made from a movie, what about times where movies have been made from games such as final fantasy advent children? wicked game and wicked film. A balto game would be good to play as long as the story line and all the important bits are still with it and it has bits that gets aload of peoples attentions such as special moment mini movie clips, stuff like that? u know

I voted yes but I would'nt want a stupid, badly made ripoff like the game 'the lionking, simba's mighty adventure' on PS1, I rented once and took it back the next day because it sucked so badly.
