I led Ace back over to the trailer and grabbed his haynet, oat bowl, and water bucket. Once the haynet was stuffed with hay, I brought it into the barn and hung it in stall number three. I refilled his water bucket and put a scoop of oats in the bowl then brought them into the barn for Ace's stall. Next was just to put some straw in there to make it comfortable for him. I brought some straw bales along and carried them into the stall. I found a pitchfork leaning up against a wall in the barn and used it to spread the straw out evenly. Now I just had to bring Ace in.

Ace, as usuall, was kicking the trailer waiting for me. I led him in and put him in the stall, he seemed to like it. I wiped the sweat from my forehead and sat down on a bale of hay in the barn. Ace was already eating out of his haynet, and the oats where practicly gone. Laughing, I got up and went in the stall with him.

Kit dusted his hands off before going over to the little water shed thing he built. Grabbing the garden hose, Kit pulled it over to the huge water drinking bucket he had built. It was made of wood but it didn't leak with the liquid rubber cealing it. Kit walked into the pasture, unscrewing the head on it and letting the water drain into the big bucket. Zeus galloped over, nuzzling his master.

Ace seemed very comfortable in his new stall. I stroked him, and ran my fingers through his mane. He was very calm and still, so I decided to make his mane look pretty. I did a running braid in his mane so in would run down all the way from up by his ears to the end of his neck at an angle. It was very pretty once it was done, but I knew he would eventually shake it out and it would look messy. Smiling, I went and grabbed his brush and groomed some of the dirt off of him from training the other night.

Kit looked at his wrist watch, 12:20 is what it read. He nodded some and let Zeus take a couple gulps of water before leading him from the pasture to the barn. He flashed a smile at Katelyn. He and Zeus were almost the same height, minus the ears and about an inch. He lead Zeus down to stall number 7 and put him in, giving him some sweet feed before stroking him and walking back outside.

When Kit had entered the barn with his horse, I felt a little nervous. Only because he was the ranch owner. She didn't really care what other people thought of her, but this was different. He owned the ranch and could kick me out at any time, so I wanted to play it safe.

I wanted it to be 3:00 already. I wanted to see a wild horse for the first time and the suspence wasn't helping me at all. It was slowing killing me! I sighed and sat on the little ledge in the stall, waiting, and waiting.

Kit got a phone call as he was outside. It was Mikey, his friend from college, calling to see if he wanted or needed any hay since he had way to much. Kit nodded, "Sure Mikey. Bring it right over." He said, talking to his friend for a little while more before hanging up finally. He jogged back to the barn, "Hey, Katelyn, one of my friend's is gonna swing by and drop off some hay. I need to get going to the store right quick, could you just tell him to put it in that corner please?" He asked, pointing over in an empty corner of the barn.

I nodded, "Sure, No problem." I said, smiling. Then I turned my attention back to Ace. "Aren't you excited to meet some wild horses, Ace? The ones like you're ancestors!" He nickered back at me, happily. He looked me in the eyes and then nudged me, wanting more treats. "Not now, Ace. You'll turn into a fat horse if you eat to many!" I warned, but he didn't seem to care.

Kit nodded, "Thanks" he said before going over to his Ford F-450 and jumping inside. He turned on the engine and began backing out of the ranch. He then turned down the road and drove off towards the local market to pick up more sweet feet and a better garden hose, a thicker rubber one would be best.

Ace snorted, wondering if the big horse, Zeus, that the ranch owner had led in and put in the stall was still there. He kept waiting and waiting for a response. When he didn't get one, He snorted again, and whinnied loudly after it, this time hoping he would be noticed. My big white horse was anxious. I ran my fingers along the side of his worn out, sky blue halter.

Zeus whinnied back, pawing the ground just for the heck of it. He was busy eating his sweet feed to really look at the other horse. Meanwhile Kit's friend Mikey drove up in an old beat up pick up truck. Torn up seats, scratches and dents, and some rust. This truck looked like it went through WWIII.

I heard the truck pull up outside and waited for Kit's friend to come in the barn. I really hope that it wouldn't be too awkward when Mikey came in.

Ace whinnied, irritated, but the calmed down once I gave him another apple. "There, Fine. Thats the last one you're getting today!" I said, as he nudged me.

Mikey backed the truck up close to the barn and released the talegate. "I'm Mikey, is Kit 'round?" He asked, not noticing him in the pasture or anywhere like that so he figured, he must be gone somewhere.

"Um, No. He ran to the store real quick. He said to put the bales in the corner, over there." I said, pointing to the corner Kit ad wanted them in. I was still standing in the stall with Ace. He whinnied at Mikey, wondering if he would give him a treat.

Mikey nodded, "Alrighty. Thank you ma'am." He said and tipped his hat. Jumping up on the truck and grabbing a two bales of hay, one in each hand. He walked them over to the corner and sat them down, looking at the horse that had whinnied to him. He slipped him a piece of a carrot. Continuing to unload the truck.

Ace whinned as if to thank the man who had given him some carrot. I smiled, and watched as he unloaded the truck. I lifted myself back up on the ledge in the stall and sat there, Ace nuzzled me. "Good boy, I know you want to run. Later, okay?" I said, pulling him closer so I could hug him.
