Green eyes practically burning a hole in the leaf-strewn ground as she glared, Ashlynn crossed her arms. Yeah, she thought sarcastically. Great idea, Aunt J. "Repair our relationship" by forcing me to attend something I didn't want to go to in the first place. I'm sure that will help. Rolling her eyes, the teenager kept her gaze focused firmly on the ground, refusing to meet anyone else's eyes.
She had been one of the first people to arrive at the decent-sized campsite. Her aunt had dropped her off, waving far too cheerfully before driving away. Ashlynn's scowl deepened; she still didn't see how this would help them to stop arguing. Well, at least they wouldn't be around each other. That would make this whole mess somewhat more bearable. Still though...summer camp sucked.
There were mosquitoes, consantly biting and leaving red spots that itched and itched. There was the heat, which beat down on them like an oppressive blanket, drying up the grass and turning the weaker stalks into a dead brown color. There was the fact that there were no real beds, no internet, and no escape routes. She was stuck here, and there was nothing she could really do about it.
Stupid, Ashlynn frowned, adjusting her hat. Normally, she didn't cover her head, but now she was glad of the protection it offered her, the concealing shadow it cast across her face. She was forced to remind herself that it could be worse...she wasn't sure how, but she knew it could be. So Ashlynn forced herself to look up, already hearing her aunt's scolding voice in her head if she saw her niece. "Now Ashlynn," she would say, "You need to make friends! Lighten up, have some fun. It won't be that bad; surely you can handle it. It's better than the summer school I wanted you to attend instead."
Ashlynn scowled again, but continued to look around, opening up a fraction more. Her green eyes glanced over the campsite curiously. It was big enough to hold around fifteen people, and large trees ringed the clearing area, isolating them from others. Of course. The teenager let out a heavy sigh as she stood, moving away from the tree she had been leaning against. Might as well go and meet the other victims stuck here with her.

"Remember, you're the one who put yourself up to this." Aunt Jeniva said. Dexter crossed his arms and sighed. She was right, of course. It had been him who had took the time to look for a camp and then pay and so, naturally, he had to follow through, though he was very very tempted to chicken out.
Dexter was uneasy, so very uneasy. He was so socially awkward that he would probably be shunned, or something in that general area. Other teens were good at that. Shunning. He peered out of the car window, feeling stupid that his Aunt had insisted on driving. That wouldn't help his image much either.
Then again, what did he care, always thought that he didn't care what other people thought. Of course, this was a lie sometimes, like now, sometimes it was truth, like when he's doing mechanics or something. He wasn't a people person. He was independent and thrived on his own.
Somehow he had convinced himself to do this and there was no way he was going to ever back out.Ever. He wasn't a quitter and as he reminded himself that, he hated it because he felt like a two year old.
Of course, he was going to be dying here, he wouldn't have his computer database or online sites to keep up with, or any tools to build things. He had left his lab behind and stepped, well, no leaped out of his comfort zone. He looked in despair at the trees and his Aunt dropped him off, leaving him utterly alone with a bunch of other teenagers.
He swatted away flies and other noisy creatures and walked forward, a backpack on his back. He wore his usual trench coat which went all the way down to his ankles and he was comfortable in it. He spotted a girl, but ignored her and looked around, his large rimmed glasses aiding his sight. He looked at the little cabins with disgust and had a sudden urge to cut down some trees and make suitable ones, though he didn't. He went instead and sat on a stump.

Frankie sighed as he stepped out of his mother's car. Turning to her, his face partly covered by his hair. "Mom, is it to late to go back home?" He said, regretting this already. Damitri sighed some, 'Frankie, hun, you agreed you would get into something creative this year. Please try to have fun.' She said, adjusting her grip on the steering wheel.
Frankie stuffed his hands in his pockets and kicked the dust, a spider crawling up his pant leg. 'Now let me get a kiss.' She said, Frankie leaning in and kissing his mom on the cheek. 'I love you hun.' She said just before she began to pull off. "I love you too." He said and glanced around at everyone.
He let out a deep breath, his nose picking up beautiful nature smells. She's right... How bad could it be? He thought, lifting his book bag onto his shoulder. He should at least give this place and it's people a chance.
Frankie raised his hand quickly, slapping the back of his neck. Darn mosquitoes! His curiosity got the better of him and he soon found himself in front of a small puddle, looking down at his murky reflection. Long black hair, piercings on each corner of his bottom lip, and a tattoo on his arm.
Frankie rarely let people see his eyes if they didn't know him. He liked to keep people wondering. He leaned against a tree, a harmless tree snake slithered down. Right onto his shoulder, gentle as a leaf. Frankie flicked his hair over to one side, looking at the snake on his shoulder as it flickered his tongue, tasting the air.
"Hey buddy, no free rides." He said softly, the snake trying to slither up the side of his face. Frankie took it gently off his face and put it back up in the tree, letting it slither out of his hand and onto a low branch. Wow Frankie, making friends are ya? imagining his twin saying it in a cocky way. He slumped against the tree, watching everyone else do their own thing.

OOC; Tomorrow I'm leaving for a trip and won't be back until Saturday.
Jack was thinking about so many things, like he always did, until his mother's car stopped near the entry to the camp. He looked around, smiling. He needed to get out of his little house somewhere, meet someone, have fun. Most of the time he would stick to his good ol' friend group, but now he was determined to change it...Only if anyone would want to hang out with him.
Jack got out of the car, and picked up his bags. He hugged his mom tightly when she walked up to him. "Thank you...For letting me get out somewhere for once." he whispered to her with a smile on his face, and then they both chuckled. Mother kissed him on the forehead, and then sat back in the car to drive away.
The young man slowly walked into the campsite. He looked around, and took a deep breath of the fresh weather. He wasn't used to it: the big, noisy city he lived in was always dirty. He loved the freshness, and beautiful smells all around him. He will surely like it here.
The camp, in his thoughts, could have been better: little cabins for the attendants instead of some big wooden houses he imagined, endless swarms of mosquitoes, and other small animals. Yet, this place wasn't so bad. Jack noticed some more teens around there, and they all seemed somehow disappointed. He could've walked up to them and begun to talk, but now he decided to keep away. There will be plenty of time for that later when they settle in their cabins.
Jack put one of the heavier bags on the ground, and sat on it. He waited for someone to come up and show them their rooms. It was kinda hot there, so he took off his jacket and stayed with just a T-shirt on. He picked up his phone and began texting to some friends.

Jared gazed out at the camp through his step-dad Phil's SUV. He suddenly felt intimidated for some reason, he looked back at his grubby step-father. "Hey Phil, I think you got the wrong one. I swear I saw one back on the highway." Jared said and jerked his thumb backwards.
Phil snorted. "Get out kid, I don't have all day." he said harshly. Phil leaned over, opened, the door, and pushed Jared out of the car, and tossed his suitcase at him. Jared caught it and glared at him. Jared turned around and walked off, and didn't even bother to wave to Phil. Not that Phil would care anyway. He glanced around, he was used to this. He's been camping in areas like this and he lived in a small town. He looked around, he saw lots of trees, and snug cabins scattered around.
Jared saw some other kids too, but they all looked dissapointed, like they were all saying, Why am I here?
He suddenly felt scared. He was sent here to make friends, but, what if kids didn't want to make friends with him? Back home, kids his age just thought he was annoying and stayed away from him. And that was cool, but that was home. He kinda wanted a fresh start here, and what if it was the same deal here?
Jared shook his head. Come on Jared, you worry to much! he scolded himself. He sighed and lugged his suitcase over to a nearby bench that looked like two slabs of wood ontop of two link 'n logs, but, it was still a bench.

A sudden buzz echoed through the road, which was surrounded by small meadows of coarse grass, moving ever so slightly along with the cautious wind. The unnatural buzz quickly became significantly louder. Soon enough a car rushed down the smooth asphalt, the noise following behind. Up in the red compact machine sat a woman by the wheel and a girl with a childish face next to her. The only feature disrupting the feeling of innocence in the girl's face were her furrowed brows and a dissatisfied expression.
"Ssh, we're almost here." A soothing, low voice of the driving woman added up to the noise. The speaker did not even care to glance at her daughter, which her words were directed to. "I didn't actually agree to this, you know?" The girl hurried to raise her voice, "Plus, I didn't say anything before. There is no reason to silence me. " The woman beside her frowned. "That isn't a way to talk with your mother, Katherine. " She spat out quickly and focused back on the road. "You'll love this kind of stuff, believe me. " Her mother added after a pause, still not bothering to give her irritated companion a glance.
Katherine kept silent, although her insides screamed to speak up yet again. For a brief second she stopped to think about the words of her mother, finding some truth in her statement. Although Katie never really favored teamwork, she figured she could at least make some friends or enjoy the unfortunately unpleasant spotlight. The childish teen always knew how to grab everyone's attention to her. Still, she had a strange feeling attending this summer camp might end up being quite terrible decision.
Enough time had passed for their car to rush past a forest lying just nearby the "meadow". The impatient and irritated driver made a few exaggerated turns into the nearing parking lot, causing even more noise. Once the red car reached it, Katie's mother awkwardly maneuvered her way through it up until she found a nice place to stop her car. Katherine hopped out of it immediately, but her mother didn't follow her. She simply waved her daughter a quick goodbye and began taking the time to start her car again, eventually leaving the girl alone.
Katherine stood firmly on the ground. She glanced at the cabins first, although only for so long - she wasn't very curious about them. The trees around her also failed to pique her interest, but the people around her did interest her. The teenager made a quick decision to talk with whichever person she spots first. Ready to get herself into a conversation, she edged towards a nearby bench a tall kid stood by. She guessed he was a tad older than her. She smiled slightly before she spoke up. "Hey there!" She exclaimed, " My name is Katherine, Katherine River to be exact." She chuckled then paused for a few seconds, trying to find the right words. She did not want to scare him away. "You can call me Katie, though. What's your name?" She questioned him.

Jaimie tightened her hand around the thick, black strap of her backpack and swallowed as she looked around the camp. Why had she wanted to do this? It made no sense. She was completely out of her element. However, as she looked around the beautiful camp, she began to change her mind about that. She may not be great with people but the nature around here was comforting. After living in the city for a long time, she had missed this. She began to walk around, looking at the cabins and the other people, tightening her hand around the strap as she went. She felt her stomach tightening with nerves as she looked at the people. She had no Humane Society to volunteer at here. This was all humans.
But somehow she had a good feeling. She was going to like this. There was a very slight doubt in her mind but she pushed it back. "Optimism counts for everything," she muttered to herself. "You can do this Jaimie. It'll be the best experience of your life. You have a life changing opportunity here. Go for it."
Jaimie broke into a jog, looking around, taking everything in. Who knew? Maybe she'd make friends here. Shae thought it'd be great. It had been Shae's idea even, although she left it completely up to Jaimie. Jaimie knew Shae was right, though. It'd be good for her. Even if she didn't think she'd be as successful as her sister seemed to think she'd be, it'd be better than doing nothing all summer.
She heaved a sigh as she looked around, beginning to feel her stomach tighten again. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself. Slowly, she brushed her auburn hair behind her ear. "Don't look nervous," she murmured to herself. "Don't you do it..." Pasting a grin on her face, she made her way further into camp, long legs moving swiftly across the ground.

Clouds of dust flew up from behind the fast spinning tires of the black sports car. Music blaring, base pumping, wind whipping by, there was a loud sound of crunching gravel underneath it's fast spinning wheels. The two brothers sat calmly, listening to the music as the countryside flew by in blurs of color. Dev leaned back, gently knocking his head against the back of the seat as he watched the world through the side view mirror.
"That's it you idiot!" Dev yelled, suddenly sitting up in his chair and pointing at the sign, showing them where camp was. His brother, Owen, slammed on the breaks, causing them both to jolt forward sharply. The tires screeched uncomfortably as Owen took the turn at a dangerously fast pace. "Wow that one snuck up!" he said chuckling as Dev rolled his eyes. "Well here we are!" Owen said and smirked at Dev. "Have fun little brother, it's gonna suck terribly without you at home," he said and made a fake sad face. Dev smirked and stuck out his tongue. "Whatever, later Owen."
Dev didn't wait to see his brother speed away, he heard the crunch of the gravel and the rev of the engine, that was enough of a goodbye for him. He knew Owen would love the attention at home, he decided to let him have the satisfaction, even though Dev would miss him. The tall, tan boy spun slowly on his heel, turning to view that camp that was now in front of him. He narrowed his eyes, and chewed on the inside of his lip, taking the scenery in. "Shouldn't have worn jeans," he mumbled to himself as he felt the heat beating down on him. He removed his aviators from his eyes, and balanced them on his head, deciding it's probably time to scope out his 'new home' for the summer.
He pulled his backpack straps up over his shoulders and began walking towards the cabins, he saw a group of people his age sitting around. He noticed that most of them looked upset, depressed, and angry about being here. A couple others tried to make conversation, as for Dev he stood there silently, taking in his surroundings. Leaning against a tree with his arms crossed over his chest, Dev looked around observantly. The heat was intense, the bugs were annoying, the people were quiet, what did I get myself into? he thought.
His mother was the one who suggested this trip, she hoped that making new friends would be good for him. She didn't exactly like the crowd he hung out with. He cared about his mother, so he agreed to it. Now he sure was second guessing himself. He always took pride in the decisions he made, they always seemed to work out. Maybe this one will too... he thought as he looked around, trying to make eye contact with the others there.

Willow yawned as her mother and father drove onto the campsite's parking and drop off area. "Thanks mom! Thanks dad! I'll try to call! Love ya!" she said as she clambered out of the Jeep and onto the green grass. She quickly looked around at the other teens that have arrived at the camp. She held onto her duffell bag tightly, slinging it over her shoulder. She thought briefly before she decided to walk over to a nearby bench and sat down.
"Well, this is it," she mumbled quietly to herself, looking down at her hands and feet, whilst leaning over onto her knees. "I'm stuck here 'till it's over," she looked up again, searching for any chaperone-type figure. Finding none at the moment, she decided to enjoy the gentle breeze in the air, and relax.
"I'll just have to get used to it here," she reminded herself, "No talking to anyone unless I make friends. Which I'll get started on in a minute..." she trailed off, breathing deeply as another gentle breeze filled the campsite.
After a few more seconds of this, she decided to find a place to put her stuff. Pushing off with her hands, she looked around for any suitable place, walking towards some other teens on her way. She grinned lopsidedly as she approached, "Hiya!" she said nervously, "I'm Willow. Do any of you guys know where I can put my stuff?" she asked, slightly tilting her head sideways in a questioning manner.

Annoucement
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have changed the deadline to July 18th. Again, this is slightly flexible, meaning that if something comes up and you need more time, I will allow a few more days, but I will not move the date if posts are not completed on time and there is no excuse. I am understanding, so if you do need more time, I will most likely give you another day or two. And, also note that if you do not complete your posts on time, you will lose drop a ranking or even two or three.
Also, one more thing, you may post your second post at anytime. You do not have to wait for everyone to post their first one before posting your second. I am pretty sure that almost everyone has posted once, though I am not counting or keeping track (yet).
I think that is all I have to say. I probably won't make anymore announcements for this round. Just keep an eye on the deadline date. It may or may not change to a later date, but I will not make any big announcement to inform you. It just wastes space. I will also try to have the results up on the same day as the end of the deadline, but it may be a few days late because I will be on vacation during that day.
Thank you and happy rping!

"Hiya!" some girl asked nervously, "I'm Willow. Do any of you guys know where I can put my stuff?" she asked, slightly tilting her head sideways in a questioning manner.
Ashlynn's green eyes flitted over to her, taking in her appearance curiously. The girl was much shorter than she was, though the colored streaks in her hair seemed to make her a bit bigger and louder, somehow. She looked to be about a year younger though, and her dark eyes were shining with a nervous energy.
Ashlynn shrugged as she adjusted her hat once again, flipping a stray lock of hair behind her shoulder in the process. "No idea," she answered unhelpfully, gesturing to her own bag, which had been dropped sloppily onto the ground. Normally, she would've left it at that, but the lopsided grin the girl was giving her prevented Ashlynn from doing so.
"I guess we should go figure that out," she continued, reluctantly picking up the large bookbag and slinging it over her shoulder. Ignoring the additional wait, she took a step farther from the tree that had been her support only seconds ago. She glanced back down at the girl, letting out a small sigh as she stuck her hand out. "I'm Ash," she introduced, using her preferred nickname.
Her aunt refused to call her that, meaning she went by Ashlynn to most everyone; really, it was only the occasional friend at school who called her Ash. It was just another thing they argued about, really; there were plenty of those things. "Who are you?" she asked after a small pause, finally meeting the girl's gaze.

"Could you just...pull up here?" Marcus asked, seeing the camp sign ahead. He didn't like "making an entrance" and thought that driving up in a new black Rolls Royce would surely attract unwanted attention. His mother nodded and pulled up at the side of the asphalt road, her fingers tapping on the steering wheel as he opened the door. "Markus, honey, I know you don't really...like making friends," she began hesitantly, "But...try...okay? For me?" He sighed and stood, closing the door as quietly as he could behind him. He grabbed his bags from the trunk and closed it once more, slinging his grey guitar case over his shoulder before heading up to the driver's side. He managed a sympathetic smile and gave a small nod. "I will, but I won't make any promises." He smirked and stood straight, running a hand through his black hair. He waited until she was gone to start walking again, adjusting the strap for his guitar case, grumbling to himself about how he didn't want to be there. He wanted to be home in his room surfing the internet on his laptop or retuning one of his many instruments.
Alrighty...this looks...fun...? He thought, walking into the camp. He winced a little bit, seeing all of the others there, and took a small step back. He looked at them for a moment before looking down at his old, black sneakers, his dog tags swinging as he walked. He didn't look up at the people that he passed, nervous that they'd start talking to him. Why would they talk to me anyway? I'm an antisocial orphan that's living the high life...oh yeah, just a normal kid! He thought sarcastically. He set his bags down nearby and sat on a fallen oak tree. Looking up at the trees, the sunlight filtering in through the leaves, it made him think about days from before with the man he'd come to call 'Dad' before his tragic accident, but he quickly blocked those out of his mind as he set his guitar case on the ground before him and opened it, pulling out his guitar- a standard brown and black acoustic signed by Jon Bon Jovi. It had become his favorite instrument he had after it's signing, but couldn't understand why he brought it. He went crazy whenever his instruments got dirty, and this one was no exception. He quietly began to tune his guitar, humming a song as he did. He hummed when he felt like it, but mostly to keep himself occupied.
"M'kay, that's enough of you." He mutterd, putting the guitar back in it's case and locking it. He stood and brushed off the back of his jeans before stuffing his hands in his pockets, flipping his head so his hair rested on his eyebrows. He paced around the log absentmindedly lost in thought. He didn't notice a rock until he stumbled over it, nearly falling to the grass and pine needle strewn ground. He caught himself and quickly righted, continuing to pace, kicking the rock out of his way this time. Should I? I mean it wouldn't hurt...nah... He sighed, turning his gaze from watchingthe two girls interact to the ground once again.

Jared jumped slightly when he heard a voice behind him. He turned to a girl about his age, maybe a year or so younger. He grinned, "Hi, I'm Jared, Jared Adkins." he said as polietly as he could, and sat down on the link 'n logs bench. "So, um, nice place huh?" Jared said, trying to start a conversation. He hated awkward silences, they were so...awkward. He fidgeted slightly on the bench and looked around. The truth was, it was a nice place, he just wanted other people's opinion on it. It had nice trees and nice, snug cabins. This was a fancy resort compared to his junk yard of a house, via Phil.
Jared glanced around seeing more kids arive. He saw this one kid tuning a guitar, and two girls talking. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Frankie adjusted his thick strap from his bookbag. He went straight to a bench and sat away from everyone, reach deep in his bag and rummaging around inside of it. Nothing of use at the moment. Frankie sighed some, leaning back a little and pulling one knee close to him.
He waited a few moments before looking around at everyone esle. Waiting for someone to notice the 'lonely' teenager or for someone to come over and try to make friends with him. Not like he wanted any friends. Frankie believed that if he had himself and his family, that was all he would ever need in life. He soon began to miss his girlfriend, Ebony, and how he hadn't seen her before leaving to come to this place.
Frankie chose not to approach anyone yet, he hadn't taken interest in anyone yet anyway. He felt the piercings on his lip, they stung when he touched them. Still a little bit raw. Leaves sweapt past Frankie's shoes as a gentle breeze worked up. A woodpecker off in the distance, hitting the wood rapidly.
Frankie thought for a few moments before grabbing his bookbag and digging through it once more, this time he pulled out a small notebook. Having trouble getting the notebook free of his jacket. Frankie jerked it a little harder, spilling his things out on the ground. He swallowed some innapropriate words and knelt down, picking his things off the ground.

Dexter knew he should probably talk to someone. Probably. But, of course he ignored his own advice, being as antisocial as he was. It was true, other people often intimidated him. He was so very socially awkward that he didn't expect anyone to attempt to talk to him either. He didn't know anyone. No one knew him.
Of course, if someone was to walk up to him and attempt to start a conversation with him, he would attempt to comply and talk back, no matter how nervous he was. He could talk, yes, but he wasn't one to go and start a happy little conversation with everyone and everything. He was a silent guy.
The thing is, Dexter wouldn't talk unless he has to. He thinks that talking is a waste of perfectly breathable air. So, he talks only when necessary. He gets annoyed often by the people who talk all the time.
As he listened to everyone talk, the went and sat on a log, taking out his book and reading silently. If someone wanted to talk to him they could, that was all.
