I came across one such a story. The writing of it was even more twisted than the pairing itself, if such might be thought possible. If it were on paper, I'd be hard-pressed to find a use undignified enough for it, even toilet paper.

I hope such stories (the ones pairing Kodi with his mother anyway) aren't found on here. If so the need to be reported.

True. I also found some stuff that hardly even qualify as stories. *sigh* There are also instances when it glitches.I better stop before we get further off topic than we are now. I also found fictions on either site respectively that include Kirby/Kodi and BALTO/Kodi. Why not throw in Steele?

I'm not going to comment, except to say that things like that are part of the reason I rarely if ever bother to use some sites any more, and why I won't even touch some with a ten-foot cattle prod (if I did touch them I wouldn't use anything as measly as a common stick).

Well, for me, its simply knowing when to avoid that. There are some that hint at that in the summary, so I wouldn't be caught by surprise (yet some instances are pretty different).

How much further are we chasing this rabbit because we may be heading into a dangerous zone here!

Personally I'd be glad to shoot the rabbit once and for all, but all said and done, let's leave off the chase.

One thing that comes to mind is that there could be a competition of fanfics pairing Kodi with different girls - Dusty, an OC, etc. - and then the fics could be compared and it would be seen which turned out the best. The catch is that between editorial slants, as evidenced in some of the fanfics and fanart I've seen (and I won't mention any names), and the fact that the characters would inevitably change and develop more as events effected them and vice-versa (see Balto 3 as an example), it would be nearly impossible to discern which was truest to the character(s) involved and therefore the most realistic.

Also, you'd have to find someone who could be objective and yet decisive.

It is a matter of opinion. I personally agree with you on that.

I've seen a few Kodi/OC pairings I thought were good, and (strange as this may sound to some) I've come across my share of Kodi/Dusty material which I didn't like so much, even one or two pieces which were rather sickening in their own right. Ultimately I think the answer to this topic's main question is "whoever can best co-develop with him." In other words, whatever girl can help him to be the best that he can be, while at the same time benefitting from him, is the best girl for him. Kind of like how Jenna inspired Balto to do things he never would have on his own, and he in turn motivated her as well.

No offense, but I'm pretty sure Rosie was more inspiring to Balto than Jenna was. Balto didn't need a confidence boost from his love interest, which is one of his strong points and all the more reason Jenna is a useless character in and of herself. But I digress xD

Anyhoodle, I think that's why people prefer Dusty with someone other than Kodi, because he doesn't really have anything to offer. Overall, as an adult, it's kind of a requirement to be good at your job, if you have nothing to contribute otherwise, it's a very empty relationship. Kodi wasn't funny or deep, or really anything socially speaking, so he's therefore seen more suitable as a single person.

But I will admit, I found one OC that was his exact opposite and actually made him react to her in interesting ways that he wouldn't react to Dusty.

Do you happen to remember his name? I'd like to meet him.
