Ooc:// Awesome. We can start now! I will be starting just a few hours after school where the group is at Haley's house about to go out to the cave.

Bic:// Haley buttoned up her blue sweater made of material much too light for this fall weather. The air cooled another couple of desgrees as another breeze blew through the porch the group of friends currently occupied. Haley leaned against the banister, her sweater button up to her collar, as she glanced around at the people she called her friends. As her eyes wandered over them, her mind retreated back to thoughts of the strange cave she had found just two days ago. She closed her eyes tightly, wishing for the fifth time that day that the cave was safe. In anything happened to any of these people because of her suggestion to go cave exploring... well, she still hadn't forgiven herself for what happened with Rose and any incident that happened today would only add to her guilty conscience.

Rose tugged on the tan fur of her boots, sitting against the banister at the very end of the porch. She tried to keep her eyes fixed on her fingers fiddling with the fake fur, but her muddy green eyes kept glancing towards and quickly away from James. Although she wasn't under his control anymore, she still felt a tingle of fear whenever he got too close. Luckily, Haley had placed herself between Rose and James, whether on accident or on purpose, Rose couldn't be sure. She couldn't quite rememer what had caused her to say yes to this exploration, but now that she was here, there was no going back. Finally sick of just sitting idling while everyone prepared to leave, Rose stood up and stepped off the porch into the dry, crunching grass. "So are we going or not?" she asked impatiently.

Cale quickly finished off tying his shoe lace, hearing the annoyed tone in Rose's question. He stood up from the old bench nesstled into the corner of the porch, and brushed off his pants of any sign of dirt. "Alright, alright. We're coming," he teased, sauntering over to the end of the porch. Without hestitation, he suddenly leapt over the banister, using one of his hands to help catapult himself over the edge. He landly with a thud on the ground, but was perfectly unharmed. He glanced up at the others still on the porch, waiting for them to come along.

OOC: Ok.

Rufus leaned against the porch. His hoodie was halfway unzipped, so he could fill he Autumn chill through his t-shirt. "It's pretty cold, isn't it?" he remarked to Bailey casually. He chuckled at Cale's jump, and fall to the ground, before deciding he should get ready to leave too. "Let's go," he stepped down off of the porch, tugging on Bailey's wrist as he did, "C'mon," he muttered to the girl, his best friend and secret crush. "We need to get going, so we can get back out before it rains or anything... or gets dark."

Bailey nodded as she was almost pulled off of the porch. "Yea, I know, it is cold Roo, isn't it?" she zipped her jacket up and ran a hand through her reddish hair after the boy let go of her arm. "Yea... well, I'm ready when the rest of y'all are," she looked at everyone. "Maybe we should take flashlights?" she questioned.

"Sounds smart to me," Rufus answered. "Maybe some stuff to help with climbing too, I guess. But I dunno if we have enough time to go get it..."

Misty looked at Cale, "I guess I'm ready," she uttered, fixing her shirt a tiny bit. She pulled her thin, dressy jacket around herself, to block out some of the wind. Shivering a bit, she glanced at Haley with her blue-green eyes before stepping off of the porch. "You ready, girl? I mean, it was your idea, Haley..."

Scotty excitedly followed all his friends, he slung himself over the rail of the porch and landed swiftly in the grass. Though it was cold, he still had on his usual outfit, that strange hoodie vest, and white T. "Ah, guys this is gonna be awesome!" Scotty grinned. He loved adventure and was all for a trip into a cave. He looked around for James who finally came out of the house, his face cold.

James stopped alongside Scotty, he smirked a bit as he thought about the way Rose had moved away from him in the house. It gave him pleasure to know that he was still in control, that he was still in her memory. He was pleased to know that she was under his thumb, and would probably always fear him. He didn't care for hiking, he was only there because of Scotty, who was still friends with Rose and Haley.

Haley nodded to Misty, stepping off the porch as well. "I've already got the flashlights covered," she said to Bailey, holding up a small bookbag before tossing it back onto her shoulder and turning to Rufus. "As for climbing gear, I don't think we'll need it. It's a cave, not a mountain." Although her words seemed to hint at sarcasm, her words did just the opposite. For Haley, it would be a very rare occasion to hear her joking around. She headed towards the trail that led into the forest that wrapped around her house. "Just don't forget you all agreed to do this," she called over her shoulder, trying to ease the tension in her body. Maybe is she told them it was their choice to come enough, she wouldn't feel so responsible for any accidents.

Rose smiled brightly at Scotty's enthusiasm, but quickly turned her head to the opposite direction when James came to Scotty's side. She tried not to seem bothered by his presences since no one besides Haley really knew the details about their relationship and late break-up, and she definately did not want to draw attention or susipicions towards the distance between herself and James. Rose moved to take a step forward but paused when she noticed it was only Haley in front of her. Although Rose currently felt that Haley only had a little bit of influence on Rose's own drastic mistake, she still felt a sting of pain when she spotted the blonde hair of her used to be best friend. With a sigh, Rose crossed her arms in front of her chest and walked beside Bailey and Rufus, one of her only safe choices.

Cale didn't miss the look Misty gave him, and he felt his heart pound in his chest at just the idea that her sparking blue-green eyes had been on him even for just a second. Feeling a rush of encouragement, he called to her, "Doncha think you're a little over-dressed for the occasion, Misty?" From his safe distance a few feet away, Cale had almost slipped and called her "Missy," the old nickname he had used when they had been dating. The almost mistake caused him to hold the 's' in her name for a second longer than normal. He grinned at her, though not quite meeting her eye.

Jedidiah followed his brother from the house, he kept quiet not trying to draw to much attention to himself. He only came because of James, he didn't really know the others too well. He followed behind listening in on the conversations. He walked a little ways behind everyone and just watched the interactions. He noticed his brother walk up next to Rose. 'How stupid is he...' Jedi thought. 'He is just so inconsiderate.' he could see the uncomfort in Rose, but she was smart and removed herself from that situation. He knew his brother thought he was all that. 'Just let it go...' Jedi wasn't going to let this ruin the trip for him, but he was too much involved to let it go.

"Gee Haley, the way you're acting you'd think we should've signed wavers!" James smirked, his cold eyes glimmering with mischief. He heard Scotty clear his throat and looked at him, a grin coming to his face as Scotty gave him a cold glare. James didn't care, he looked back at his little brother, then around at the other until he spotted Rose. With his jerk-worthy intentions he quickened his pace so he could walk alongside his EX.

Scotty watched James quietly, his eyes narrowing. He knew what James was doing, he wanted Rose scared, nothing else. Scotty snorted and pushed his way between James and Rose, glaring at James who grinned.

Haley ignored James's comment but felt its sting. A pinprick of anger peirced her heart when he spoke to her. Even though Haley and Rose weren't really best friends anymore, she still wanted to kill James for what he did. She marched through the woods at a brisker pace, the only healthy way to vent her anger at the moment. Before she knew it, they were standing in front of the entrance to the cave. She stumbled to a stop, not realizing how fast she had been walking, and turned around to wait for everyone else to catch up.

Rose took in a quick breath of air in surprise as James came to her side. She gulped down the nervousness building in her throat and gut, tilting her chin up in a dignified manor and tried to ignore the boy beside her. She gasped as Scotty shoved his way between them, but Rose was immensely grateful. She smiled in a friendly way at Scotty, having no clue that he knew about what happened between herself and James. Her mind wondered if maybe he knew, but surely if he did, he wouldn't still be friend with James, right? Pushing aside that though, Rose focused on picking her way through the thick brush of the woods, glad to see Haley standing in front of the cave just a few feet away. This would all be over soon.

Cale's spirits soared happily at Misty's positive response to his teasing. He had been slightly afraid she would ignore him or tell him to leave her alone. His ego nursed back to health, Cale confidently walked beside Misty as they walked into the trees. He chuckled at her. "Yeah, I won't argue with you on that one," he said, glancing down at his ratty t-shirt and torn-up shoes. Was that one of the factors in her breaking up with him? Cale decided that at school tomorrow he would actually put together a nice out-fit, just to show Misty that he could... and maybe try to impress her a bit. It couldn't hurt to try.

Jedi watched as his brother nudged his way up to Rose. Jedi shook his head, disapproving what his brother had just done. He looked up to see Scotty between Rose and James. Jedi always thought Scotty was a good kid, and deserved better than his brother as a friend. To be honest everybody that was friends with James deserved better. He deserved a better brother, but he wasn't going to tell anybody that. He didn't have the guts. If his brother knew what he thought, he would surely not be pleased with Jedi. They finally approached the entrance of the cave and Jedi went and stood next to his brother since he felt out of place with the others. He took off his sunglasses to get a better look at the cave, slipping them onto his shirt. The caves entrance was rather large and overgrown with moss. He looked to his brother and said, "This will be fun." he was trying to take his brothers mind of Rose and to remind him that Jedi was still there.

OOC: Should we wait for the other RPer? They haven't posted at all, other than when they joined.


Misty smiled at Cale, "Yea... but it's just your style of clothes, y'know? I mean, Bailey and Rufus love their baggy jeans and hoodies, which is way different than mine, too..."

Bailey looked over at Misty, "Heh?" Even though her group of friends would never start any, a lot of the other teens at school could start some nasty gossip about her and the boy. It was like second nature to glance over when their names were that close together in a conversation.

"She was just talking about our clothes," Rufus reassured the girl while patting her back. He knew about the girls' fear of the drama and gossip in general. "Hey, we're at the cave," he said. "Hey, Haley, can I get two flashlights over here?"

Bailey smiled and nodded, "Please, we'd appreciate it."

Finally near to the cave, Misty went over to Haley and got a flashlight, "I guess as soon as everyone has their flashlight, we can go inside! This'll be so fun!"

Bunp!

"Sure thing!" Haley called to Rufus just as she handed flashlight to Misty. She pulled two more out of her bag for Rufus and Bailey, giving them over to the two when she walked up to them. "Think fast, Cale!" she shouted to the blonde boy who seemed very distracted after his recent conversation with his ex-girlfriend. Startled, Cale turned around just in time to catch the flashlight, fumbling with it a bit before grasping a firm hand around the plastic. Haley chuckled at Cale's almost failed catch before making her way to the group of people she would have rather ignored. She held the bag out for Scotty to take a flashlight, refusing to glance at Rose, James, or even Jedi. She really hoped none of them would try to make conversation with her.

Rose wanted to say something to Scotty or make same sort of conversation that would make the situation any less awkward, but the tention in the air only grew thicker as Haley came over offering flashlights to the group. Without looking at her old best friend's face, Rose reached into the bag and pulled out a flashlight. She breathed out a quite thanks to Haley, still not glancing up at her.

Cale clicked on his flashlight, still grateful that he hadn't dropped it when Haley had tossed it to him. That would only be one more reason for him to seem like a complete failure in front of Misty. Taking note of her interest in the cave, Cale walked over to the entrance and took a step inside, sliding the light of his flashlight around the walls of dirt and stone. For being out in the middle of the woods, the structure looked sturdy enough. At least, it did to Cale's untrained eyes. "It looks interesting enough," he said to Misty with a nonchalant voice and a smirk.

Jedi took his flashlight and switched it on and off a few times to make sure it was in working condition. It passed the test and he walked closer to the cave entrance to check it out. It was pretty dark in there so he switched his flashlight on and pointed it in the cave. A long stream of light shone into the cave, not exactly illuminating the whole cave. He could tell it was a big cave and they'd better be careful and not get lost.

Scotty stood next to Rose, he flicked on his flashlight and smiled as the dark was illuminated. He hadn't payed much attention to the awkward tension between he, and Rose. He just didn't want James bothering her.

James had moved to the back of the group, just holding his flashlight in his pocket.
