Well, I'm working on a backstory right now. Naming is difficult though (had to be creative with those names).

And thanks. Oh no, I'm not saying drama is bad for a good story, I'm saying it's really nothing out of the ordinary for a brother to act too. Not everyone acts bitter in life about a love interest all the time, but more often in feeling betrayed, especially with a close family member. Hmm, I do see what you mean. I wish I had thought to include that, except of course that in my story Aniu had no known biological brothers; her parents found her out in the snow when she was too young to remember where she came from. Wow! That looks good. Did you draw those yourself? Anyway, I can see how those two will make the hero we know as Balto (genetically). Anyway, my story involves Aniu running into this husky who gets lost and runs into her pack. Aniu tries to establish a friendship with this dog, but the pack leader scares him away. He didn't wonder too far away, and he and Aniu decide to meet in secret. Some time later, someone finds out about this and spills the beans. She is then forced to decided between breaking up with Amoroq (the husky) or face banishment. I think you may already know how this turns out seeing how Balto is in existence in the movies...

Everyone are making Balto's father look like Balto, therefore he doesn't really look like a Husky. I decided to do something different. My theory is that Balto get his coloration from his wolf grandparents. However, he have his father's leg markings and his cheek fur goes down the same way as his father's. Balto's father have darker nose mark, similar to Kodi's and his fur is dark red, that is the reason why almost all Balto and Jenna's pups are red.

Balto's father have darker nose mark, similar to Kodi's and his fur is dark red, that is the reason why almost all Balto and Jenna's pups are red. That is a good idea, Sakujo. I like seeing different versions and colors from different people, only because the same color is just really boring, dull and quite predictable. So, I'm guessing the light brown-gray color that Aleu ended up getting was from the wolf side of your Balto family tree, am I right? My version [Tulugaq] doesn't really look that much like Balto from my eyes... okay, maybe the stances and build are similar, but that's it. He's all black and white with blue eyes, for one thing, and in my version, Balto gets his brown-gray fur mostly from Anyu's father, Atka [ref render and character page - coming soon; he's brown, gray and mix of both with some tan], and maybe some from Tulugaq. The lighter colors of Balto's lupine grandparents show up more once Balto's children are born [mainly through Aleu, obviously], as do the markings of Tulu's unknown husky parents with the nose markings. Not sure where the red eyes Balto has come from... my guess is that it's some sort of recessive gene in one of their bloodlines. ...Genetics can be so difficult, can't it? - Juuchan17

I didn't say he had to be her blood brother xDD That's true, you didn't. Of course if the brother in question isn't a blood relative, only an adoptive one, that leaves open the possibility of him becoming a rival (unless he's spoken for already). Which, in the words of Ice Age's Sid, "Is either really good, or really bad. Sorry, watched the second one today and just had to use that line. On another note, impressive concept art.

Balto's mother: In my version, Aniu is Balto's adoptive mother, while his biological mother is my OC SatinBalto's father: RangerA brief summary of how the two of them met: Actually, this part is very basic. So, when Ranger's about 2 years old, he decides to go to forest, there he meets Satin, they after some time fall in love and give birth to Balto. Alpha of Satin's pack didn't like that, and they killed Ranger, and later Satin died from suffer, while Balto, who was still too young to even remember his true parents, was found and adopted by Aniu. That's about it. Link to fanfic: There isn't one about Ranger, Satin and Balto, but there's one about Balto's life when he was adopted by Aniu: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en ... 55859.html

- Juuchan17 I did something similar, Akino (Baltos dad) used to have a relationship with Steele's mum before Scott (his best friend) became mates with her. Then, after that he finds Aniu (I just started thinking about that fanfiction a few weeks ago)
