The room was lit now by candles that marked numbers of dozens, hanging high across the walls and ceiling. The room was irregularily spacious and large; fine paintings of ancient heritage were used as decorations and precious heirlooms, but no such furniture filled the void, save the throne lined against the wall, whom the castle's master sat with impatience, tapping his clawed fingers against its arms in a tizzy.

In the new light this place had found, there was no obscuring his appearance, and it was stranger yet, at that. His face was pronounced and long, bearing slender purple markings that bled from his eyes, to whom were colored a light red hue. Above, it appeared that he wore a hat, though it was not headgear so much as it was his actual head; it was green like a grasshopper, speckled with dots of black. The rest of his body looked similar--like a grasshopper--though occasionally patterns of black and purple could be found vaguely mingled in his scaly "flesh".



"I am Cell," he said in a strangely optimistic voice, "and I've been anticipating your arrival." he finished as he rose from his throne, revealing his pair of bug wings, black as ebon. "Hm hm hm hm..."

Greene frowned and huffed from under Haruki.
"You are one ugly Son of a bi*ch." He accused, arching an eyebrow at the strange creature before them.

(What, now there are restrictions on images? I don't recall that being in the rules.)

"Heh heh heh! I'll take that as a compliment, Greene!" Cell laughed, and slowly he reached his pale white hands forward. As he twitched his finger, both Haruki and Greene were bound in place by an invisible force!

"Hey, what's that for!" Haruki yelled.
"-however, I didn't summon you two here for flattery." he replied to the green Furry instead, his voice more serious now as he approached the two calmly. Standing tall and standing strong, he looked down at the two, and smiled. "You see, I get very bored being all-powerful all the time, so I wanted to give myself a little challenge. Watching you two, I've seen amazing potential, and wanted to see if I couldn't... have a little fun." he finished, and with a snap of the finger, a mystical portal opened out of thin air...

Greene glared and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever buggy. Can't you just get someone else? We didn't sign up for," He looked around. "This!"

"Of course you didn't. But I signed you up anyway: for the Trial of Games!" he chuckled. "Wasn't that just sweet of me? Heh heh heh!"
"About as sweet as your--" Haruki tried.
"Tut, tut. Enough of the flattery, now." he laughed.
"Well what's the 'Trial of Games' all entail, anyway?" Haruki asked, less than amused. "Me and my buddy only came to have some fun time, together--"
"--and blatantly walked into my trap, yes. Whose stupid fault was it for accepting a ticket with no return address? ...Yours." came Cell's interruption.
"Mmph... Sorry, Greene." Haruki sighed, his ears the opposite of perked by now.
"Oh, but not to worry! There'll be plenty of 'fun' in store for you two: I'll make certain of that." he proclaimed, spreading his arms out in either direction with a sinister expression upon his face. "...Oh? Oop! I just remembered I left the cookies in the oven! Be right back~!" Cell responded so gingerly, it was disturbing.
"Okay, now we just-- Ugh!" Haruki struggled. "He didn't even unbind us! ...THIS IS SO FRUSTERATING!"

Greene glared off in Cell's direction and huffed.
"I don't want to have fun now! I want to go HOME!" He snarled, fur bristling on his spine.

"I don't think he's giving us much of a choice..." Haruki sighed, but as the scent of chocolate chip cookies wafted through the air, the sound of whistling soon followed. Cell's whistling, as he carried the cookies on a silver platter.
"Whew! Got to these just in time! Heh heh!" he laughed, taking a seat on his throne. "Now, I'm afraid a little explanation is in order. Ahem." he cleared his throat, magically forming an ancient scroll, and grasping it from no where. He opened it, and as waves of light exited from the paper, he read thus:

Trial of Games, or Trial of Pain? A veritable maelstrom of all that's surreal, fake, imaginary, and so forth; so is to be told. A match of tricks and shadows formed only in the presence of those truly close to one another; that their fortitude be tested. Once the Gamemaster decides upon these two who reek of truly unimaginable potential, so too the Games are decided. In them, the two thus chosen must retrieve eight objects, delving into what is bound to entreat them.

"Blah, blah, blah. We all know the flavor text." Cell scoffed. "I'm sick and tired of Earth, and everything that revolves around it is empty to me. Though by the 'grace' of some unknown force, my powers alone cannot destroy the planet. ...That's where you two come in." he finished, laughing darkly. "You see, there is more to the Trial of Games; whichever side overcomes the trials successfully is granted a wish, by none other than this scroll." he pointed. "I'm not participating... but if you two should happen to fail, the wish is given to the Gamemaster out of respect..." he said. "To whom, if you haven't noticed, is ME!" Cell boomed, shaking the entire room with the strength of his voice.

"So," he took a bite out of one of his cookies precariously placed on his lap, "I can't kill you two right off the bat. Not yet, anyway. Destroying Earth would be so much funner!"

Greene huffed and glared down at Cell, before speaking up again.
"So let me get this straight: you want us, to play a life or death scavenger hunt game? And if we win we get a wish?" He clarified obviously not really a fan of the idea.

"That's right! You're not half-bad at learning quick," he noted to Greene, but quickly squinted at Haruki, "unlike your imbecile of a friend, sitting there."
"Hey!" Haruki barked, wagging his tail with displeasure.
"Oh, but the Games are fraught with danger! That's why, in each of all eight levels, you three will have 'lives', much like in a real game!" Cell chuckled. "Pretty much, if you die to any of the omnipresent dangers, you're revived. But, if you die more than three times, it's 'Game Over'. ...Except then, you'll die forever! Sounds exciting, huh?" he said in much sarcasm. "Of course, if you happen to obtain the object of a level, you'll be transported back to my castle, with full lives, a place to rest, and even free food and refreshments! How's that for hospitality?" he laughed. "So, sounds fun, doesn't it? When you lose, I'll--"
"Yeah, it does, actually." Haruki remarked, a smug expression upon his face.
"What was that?!" Cell flared.
"It does sound fun, to answer your question. All we have to do is beat your silly little challenge, and we'll make a wish for you to disappear; and to have the fun we wanted to have in the first place!" Haruki cheered. "Right, buddy?" he nodded to Greene, panting excitedly with his tongue hanging from his mouth.

Greene nodded vigorously.
"We'll breeze through this bro! Bring it ONN!" The furry barked, wagging his fluffy tail with pure excitement. It didn't sound too hard, just a scavenger hunt, and Greene had always been good at those!

"Grrr... Very well! If you're so anxious, we'll just have to start right away!" Cell raged. "First things first, for self-defense, you two must think of what would be your ideal weapon. What is fastest for you, what is strongest... What fits your style?" Cell instructed. "Go on. Think hardly on the weapon you wish to possess, and I'll make it real." he clarified, nullifying the spell that binded them. "...But hurry along! Even though I'm immortal, I don't want to spend an eternity waiting for you two to decide!"

"Okay!" Haruki exclaimed, giving Greene a two-second bear hug in celebration. "Now... let's see... My weapon...? Hm..." Haruki thought deeply and longly.
"Oh, for the love of--" Cell facepalmed.

Greene brughtened, and smirked. He knew which weapons he was good with, he was an expert with a gun and regular man to man combat.
"Sniper rifle with a scope, strap for the shoulder and three rounds of amo, and a handgun." He decided easily.

"I'm afraid not." Cell sighed. "I didn't say you could possess multiple weapons, did I?" he snapped his fingers, leaving Greene with only a handgun. "It has infinite bullets, so don't complain!"
"Hey, I've figured out mine..." Haruki said at last. "...A magic sword."
"Very well, a magic sword it is." Cell said, once again snapping his fingers to materialize the weapon in the black wolf's hands.
"Wooah, it's so cool-- AUH!" he gasped, nearly dropping the weapon at its enormous weight.

Greene grumbled something bout wanting his rifle but just cast a glare at Cell.
"Can I kill you? I'd really like to!" He growled, studying the gun, before pointing it at Cell. "Well you sai you were immortal..but you can still feel pain right?!" Greened pointed the gun lower and shot Cell Between the legs.

"Hahahaha!" Cell laughed, the bullet having scattered into a million pieces upon impact. "You're a very interesting Furry, I'll grant you. But enough jokes." he said seriously, and with the a snap of the finger, sent the two wolves spiraling inside the portal!
"Aaaaaah! Hold me, Greene!" Haruki smiled, hugging into his pal as they were swept through a void of time and space.
