Well, I just seen the movie like half an hour ago, and I don't really think Kodi is a mommy boy.
This is kinda off topic, but if Kodi is a momma boy, then I'm a momma boy...
hmmmm....ma'ma's boy, it seems so, but Kodi the hippie has a point hereWell since he isn't literally Kodi, I don't see how the two would determine each others' "momma's boy"-ness.
As for the topic, there's a difference between being a Momma's Boy and just being a loving son xD Being perfectly okay and not the least bit embarrassed about your mother's public display of affection towards you in front of your friends is not normal teenager behavior. I think we can agree that Kodi's a teenager, right? So him being perfectly normal about it just shows that he's a Momma's boy right there. She obviously sees him often enough to be pretty darn involved in his life to know how proud he is to be a mail dog.
Nothing wrong with being involved in your kid's life, but if you see them that often, parents don't feel as compelled to baby them so much unless they're used to spoiling them rotten all the time. Again, I mean in general.
Kodi would be considered a Daddy's boy too, considering how Balto was his hero up until he said something he didn't agree with. Same with his mother, until she took the argument up a single easy notch "You think your job is worth more than a life?" It's something Balto could've worded that way too, but basically Jenna had nothing different to say than Balto did, and yet Kodi only felt guilty after his mother said something.
And there was really no reason to see Kodi and Jenna hanging out together at the same time at the end of the movie, I think other than to show that he and her share secrets with each other that Balto and Kodi don't, which is something a mother and a daughter would do if they were close. "Did Dad tell you when he saw you leading the others that night, that it was one of the proudest moment of his life?" - "...Not in so many words..." And that right there should be your answer.
