If Universal is going to make a lot of Balto sequels, would it be so bad? I'd like to see Balto 6 or Balto 7 in future, of course just with a hight quality. I can't see why you don't want more Balto movies.

I don't, but it's a everyone's personal opinion nad I'm not gonna judge enyone about that. But. What if Universal is going to do what Togo just said: a Balto series... Can you imagine, what if they would make a 3D Balto? Would it be a nice thing to see Balto like that? (No.) I don't think Universal is going to make better quality animations in the future, not sequels especially. Remember guys what happened with Wolf Quest!

I would love Balto sequels as well but i just made a quote "A sequel can never beat the original" and i think that whatever the sequel and whenever it might be it will never be as good as the original.

Anyway you would understand and amuse yourself if you would have played Monkey Island 3. (1996 from what i remember)

Anyway see you on the Messanger!

But you can't deny that the animation got much better with Wings of Change, even if it's of course not to the level of the original. (the biggest reason being the much lower budget)

Yes that's true, I totally agree. Animation in WoC was better, but what if there's going to be more sequels with crappy quality - even worse than Wolf Quest? We cannot know that and that's why I think it's best if they stop making more sequels, you can't see what's in the future, maybe sucky Balto movies. Sequels are okay if they're just good.

Who wouldn't? That's possible too. And if there's going to be more dummy sequels we can just sit wonder how stupid they are and praise the first film and tell all how good is it. Sequels make the first movie look great. (Although Balto doesn't really need that.)

On the animation point only, honestly, that's impossible. Why? Because the animation in the Land before time sequels has never stopped getting better with time. And the same with the Disney sequels. (compare the animation in "Return of Jafar" and "Lion king 1 1/2"...the difference is really HUGE!)

All I wanna see is universal finish the movies with balto pups in it after that I'm pretty sure I'll be satisfied. But new movies would be cool to see as well.

An interesting thing, found on this page :

http://www.dvdconferences.com/dvdconfer ... n?id=10037

Quote:
Pre-Conference Seminar: DVD Jr.—Growing Up, Growing Out

4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The children’s DVD market is booming, and it’s one of the last big growth areas, particularly in the nontheatrical segment. Overall, the kidvid market is projected to grow from 17 percent of the business in 2004 to 28 percent by 2007. Nontheatrical, led by edutainment, is projected to quadruple over the same time frame. Panelists will discuss the growing audience for TV and direct-to-video product, promotions and marketing strategies, interactivity and special features — plus the growing tie-ins with schools and libraries.

MODERATOR: Stephanie Prange, editor, Home Media Retailing.

PANELISTS: Gordon Ho, EVP, marketing and business development, Buena Vista Home Entertainment; Steven DeMille, SVP, marketing, First Look Home Entertainment; Anne Parducci, EVP, family entertainment and marketing, Lions Gates Home Entertainment; Glenn Ross, EVP and GM, Universal Studios Home Entertainment Family Productions.

This conference is scheduled on Monday, June 27. Maybe Universal will give the names of their future projects for that occasion...Once again, notice how they say that "The children’s Direct to video DVD market is booming"...I really think we have not seen the last of Balto yet.

EDIT : Found another article, here :

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2005-04-04-kids-dvds_x.htm

Again, here are some quotes :

Quote:
Sales of non-theatrical children's DVDs, driven by established TV (Nickelodeon, PBS Kids) and toy brands (Mattel's Barbie), are on track to surge from 11 million units in 2003 to 51 million units in 2007, says Glenn Ross, head of Universal Studios Home Entertainment's new Family Productions division. The division was just formed to acquire and develop children's programming for DVD release.

"You can only release so many theatrical films a year. One of the places to grow is in direct-to-video product, particularly for kids," Ross says.

For years, Universal has been mining its Land Before Time franchise with yearly direct-to-video sequels to the 1988 Steven Spielberg movie hit, but it now plans to significantly expand its footprint.

"it now plans to significantly expand its footprint."...A Balto every year, anyone?...

In fact, it's just a confirmation on everything I knew about Universal plans for the future...

Oh God . . .

I know this is both a good thing (mainly to all of the hardcore fans that I know of) and equally, a bad thing (yet another LBT, which surprises me because of how recognized it is over a decade later).

I mean, I'd love more sequels for Balto, just not one new movie every year. That's overdoing it IMO. Maybe every two years (to help make sure that it's going to be the best quality that it can be (almost like WoC)), but not annually.

As soon as the Balto series stops using numbers, I'm out. (hopefully, Universal will spare me from doing this . . .)
