@ JC: Thanks a lot for the insomnia. JerseyCaptain wrote: Even carpenter bees are not so bad. The females tend to stay out of the way doing their thing, and the males, in breeding season, are hilarious. They flit and dive and bump into things, and then will hover in mid air. And if you happen to walk up on one, and try to get around it, it will actually hover and rotate in position, watching you. lol I find that strangely amusing. And after all, the males can't sting. Lawl, we had a nest of those in our porch once I think. Was never afraid of them though. When coming home from school I was greeted at the stairs by a guard of the nest or something. It Was more like... 'Sup?' than 'STAY AWAAAY!!'.

It doesn't nest in colonies. The female bores into the wood alone and lays her eggs after doing her thing with the male (who subsequently dies... eeesh). Perhaps it was another type of bee. Though I also know that bumble bees nest in the ground, so it couldn't be them either.

I am absolutely terrified of bees. I can spot one from 50 feet away and run away at the speed of light. why I was never able to run fast in P.E classes, I will never know. anyway...phobias... -bees -needles >.< - Being on anything that is rickety and wobbles (like a diving board) - being crushed by elevator doors.

They had this big rope bridge in a bird cage type thing, and it was really neat, lookin' around at the birdies and being really, really... REALLY high up. That got me very nervous to even cross it, and I went across very slow and carefully. Not long after following the path out of the bird part and past a few other animals, we came across another rope bridge (that to my relief was MUCH smaller). It was over a bit of water that looked like a large pond, it it was rather cute and pretty. Crossed it easier that time, but kept a tight grip on the sides. When I got to the other side, there was a sign. It wasn't 'til across that I could read it. I don't remember the words exactly, but bottom line, right underneath my feet, and right under that bridge, was a 8-9 foot alligator. [ FUN FACT! It was born the same year as me! :3 ]

Large spiders and bugs kinda creep me out. Cobwebs in showers are pretty spooky just because they're there while you're vulnerable and trying to wash. Eep! I'm not a fan of heights either. My one big phobia is thunderstorms. They tend to scare the snot out of me to the point of hiding in bed. Just the loud noises, the lights, knowing how much destructive force is in every tendril of electric bolt... D:

Needles are the main fear for me. Anything penetrating the skin absolutely terrifies me. I have difficulty trusting even the lady at my school clinic because I'm afraid there could be a needle somewhere, despite the fact it's probably not allowed. I can't handle anything medical and then the arm pressure thing causes me to panic. Blood work is extremely difficult for me and I've ended up fainting a couple times from even a simple finger prick. From the day I figure out I have an upcoming doctor's appointment I'll be constantly nervous and stressed up to the day of the appointment, where I'll break out in cold sweats. Yeah, all because of needles. It should probably be embarrassing, but I really don't care. It's my fear, even if my mother always gives me the lecture of being immature about it. I can't help being so scared.
The only other phobia I have is of wasp nests. Not really the bug itself, but for some reason the nests absolutely horrify me. The small holes, how they're all in different types and can be up in the corner or fall to the ground.. Even if I'm on the sidewalk and find a nest in my path, I will personally go completely out of my way to avoid it. Ones on the ground are usually vacant, but they terrify me nonetheless. How a wasp could crawl in there and groups can fit the capacity is just.. scary to me for some reason. I'm afraid they're all gonna come out and ambush me some day haha.

I feel like a trapped animal, as soon as I see a needle.
