Asali turned her head, and looked Renu deep in the eyes, she could see that he truly meant what he said. And that felt extremely weird, for no one had ever said anything like that to her before, still, it felt somewhat warm and nice.

"Why, thank you Renu..." she whispered, with a small, shy smile on her face, then cleared her throat, and continued:

"You're right, I guess I should get some rest" and then, she laid herself down, resting her head on her paws, and clsoed her eyes. She felt really safe now, that she had Renu there with her, he would make sure she wouldn't be hurt anymore.

Renu looked over at Asali and smiled alittle before laying down as well" Your welcome.." Renu let out a yawn before resting his head on the ground and closing his eyes before falling asleep.

Early that morning Renu had woken up and streched. He sat up and looked over at Asali who was still fast asleep. He had to admit with the morning light just creepying into the den she did look lovely and he couldn't help but stare alittle longer at her.

Asali rolled over, and slowly opened her eyes, then saw Renu in front of her, and staring at her.

"Oh, good morning... is something wrong?" she asked him, with a little confused look on her face and raised an eyebrow.

Renu gaped slightly before shaking his head he smiled alittle" No no.. its just the sun shined on you.. it made you look um.. very beautiful" Renu normally was honest with everyone and for some reason it was more true towards Asali.

Asali raised her both eyebrows, and blushed slightly, then began to smile a little. She wasn't use to these kind of compliments, and she had lower her head so that Renu couldn't see it. Still, it felt good hearing those things from him.

"Thank you... that's very sweet of you to say that" she said quietly, and slowly raised her head back looking at him, and fortunately the blushing was starting to fade away by now.

Renu smiled nervously" Its not a problem i was taught to be honest with anyone and everyone.." He said as he continued to stare hoping he wasn't creeping her out.

Renu thought for a moment but stopped" So why were you out there in the blaze of fire like that..?" He stood up streching for a moment" Not that you have to tell me im just curious."

Asali's smile now faded away, and she turned her head, lowering her ears and pinned them on her neck. She really didn't wish to speak about what happed back in the Pride Lands, it the most painful thing she'd ever gone through. Still, Asali felt like she could tell Renu, as he was the closest thing to a friend she'd ever had, and she had began to actually trust him by now.

"Well, it's a long story... a long and sad story" Asali began, and sighed. Then, she continued:

"I was in love... with this male, who I thought had the same feelings for me too. Then, one night, he told he wasn't in love with me at all, and only saw me as a friend, and the next day, I heard he'd become mates with a complete different lioness. And that broke my heart. I had to leave the lands, I just couldn't stay there and watch the love of my life being with someone else".

As Asali spoke, some small tears rolled down on her cheeks, and she had to close her eyes to prevent more tears.

Renu's ears lowered before he growled slightly" That is dispicable.. no male should treat a female like and especially playing with there heart that is low.." He noticed her crying slighlty and moved over towards her before laying down next to her.

He nuzzled her gently" He will pay for that i assure you.." He couldn't help but feel bad for her" Im sorry he did that to you.. no one deserves that and if i can help it i will make sure that doesn't happen to you again."

Asali felt Renu's nuzzle, she starteled a bit but then relaxed, and responded to it, blinking away the tears. She then raised her head to look at him, she looked him in the eyes and could see that he truly meant what he said.

"Renu... no one has ever been so good to me" she said with a sigh, and then her face turned back to a smile.

"I'm so lucky that I met you" Asali continued, and licked his cheek quickly.

Renu blushed abit and looked away for a moment" Its nothing i was just taught to treat women with respect and seeing another male misstreat a lovely lady well its just not fair to you.." He smiled alittle" So long as your my friend you will always be treated like a princess.."

Asali smiled at the young male, she'd never seen a male blush in front of her before, and on Renu it looked somewhat cute. She now stood up, and looked him right in the eyes, smiling back at him.

"So, if I'm a princess, you're going to be my own prince and bodyguard?" Asali asked, and chuckled.

Renu put on a goofy smile and got up before stepping over towards Asali. He then bowed to her" If that is what my princess wishes i shall be her prince and her bodygaurd at all times" He then looked up at her and grinned again.

Asali laughed, this time properly, it wasn't just a chuckle anymore. She hadn't laughed like this in ages, all tough she didn't laugh at Renu, she laughed at his actions and how he was being such a gentleman, it was extremely cute.

"You sure know how to treat women, Renu" she said smiling, and raised an eyebrow.

Renu smiled at her" I was raised to treat women they were they deserved to be treated" He streched briefly" Besides you haven't done nothing wrong to me so i have no reason to be rude to you now do i" He said as he stared at her.

"No, actually I haven't" Asali replied, and chuckled, then looked deep in Renu's eyes.

"What you did was saving my life... and I'll never forget that" she then said, in a more quiet tone, and kept staring back at him.
