Probably not, because foxes are red . . .
But with the other animals with the red eyes (bear, wolverine, raven), maybe it was to give them a look that made them suspicious . . . or something like that. Maybe they were made to look scary (it worked with the bear and the wolverines . . . the raven just looked strange) and by looks, they might have been made to look untrustworthy . . . .
looks can be deceiving?

I can agree with most of your points Steet. Some of your cited images I never paid much attention to (namely the raven on the hunter's possibles bag). THe only one I disagree with is that of Muru being an appearance of Aniu. Spirit Guides are independent entities who are sent by Wakan Tanka to guide those in the mortal world.

That has crossed my mind. But being untrustworthy shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not the forms of Aniu had red eyes or not (a.k.a. the fox).

Well, the fox was supposed to be a trickster, could it be she was hiding her red eyes underneath? , the fox is supposed to seem like something you might be able to trust, maybe not so in the beginning, but from persuasion something could be accomplished, which would be hard if you had red glowing eyes.

Hmm...But, maybe in WolfQuest they were doing it in a different way than the 'true' way...I'm not sure...But sometimes movie's do things, but in real life, they are different...Am I making any sense?? It's really hard to explain.
Um...I guess, that in this movie, they are not using the real ways that are really used in real life...

heyheyhey! that's a good one! but...I think Muru is just another spirit guide just for Alue. and for the hunter I think he's not Aniu either. and remember, Aniu is a spirit! She can become 3 wolverines as easy as pie!
But mostly I already know what you said. About Aniu is guiding....ad about the cave's scene too! (the scene that those caribu cross the water.)

Ahem, excuse my lateness.
First, Steet deserves a cookie for a humungous post.
Second, I have seen most of these points but have honestly decided not to bring them up because I'm still not a big fan of WQ. Although the storyline is pretty clever, I don't know, it's not really my cup of tea, so I don't usually feel enthusiastic about talking about this film.
But they were some interesting points, and while I've seen most of them there were a few things I didn't notice, like their eyes all being red (lol I must be so colour blind ) except for the fox. And also, those theories help explain Muru's horrible howl at the end - if he's Aniu and she can't be bothered to get out of mouse form, why not howl as a mouse?
The hunter-really-being-an-undercover-Aniu theory is pretty smart, I think. I never noticed the raven on his bag.

Wow. Good eye Steet. I never noticed the White Wolf in 7 and 9
Some things i already know but that muru part i never made much of it. They showed a bunch of animals on the walls so it got a little confusing.
This movie makes alot more sence now.
As for the crow's red eye alot of times when you see crows in a show or on TV it'll have red eyes. Though the bear blooper where it had red eyes only in the cave i figured the same. Just like they left out the yellow in Balto's eyes.
