Luna sniffed around through the forest trying to find something to eat. She could smell the scent of rabbit drifting through the air. Luna went followed the scent deeper into the forest away from the pack. Luna soon heard rustling and knew the prey was near. She crouched down on all fours and slowly inched up where she heard the noise. She peeked through the bushes that separated the noise from her. There she saw a plump rabbit eating from grass. She lowered herself even more to the ground. She pushed back on her heels when she heard a angry bark.
"Luna! What are you doing?"
The rabbit darted away and she tried to pounce on it but fell over into the dusty ground. Luna looked up to see her older brother, Apollo glaring down at her. The sun shown behind him through the trees, making it hard to see because his face because of the light. Luna casually pulled herself up and then said, "You just scared my snack away," she said rolling her eyes.
"Well, you can't be this far away from the pack," Apollo said looking around widely. "You’re almost out of the territory, and what if someone saw you, like an enemy wolf,"
"Urgh, you act so much like an adult around me," she said huffing and walking back toward the pack.
Apollo jogged up to her side then nipped at her ear, "I'm only doing this because I want to keep you safe," He said smiling.
Luna rolled her eyes smiling too, and at the next moment she tackled Apollo to the group playfully. Apollo at first was a little shocked but soon had her pinned down. They both rolled and nipped at each other feeling like pups again. Soon the two were out of breath, on the ground, laughing at each other.
"Come on let's get back to the pack," Apollo said with a flick of his tail.

Jack turned around scared as he felt the chills of another wolf's piercing sight near his position. He sighed when he realized the wolf meant no harm at all and tried to relax, his heart beating fast, he was just too stressed from all that was happening. It took a time before he regained his composure or at least enough to talk to shade. A wolf of few words, but with a very smart and wise look and probably the biggest help Jack would have to save their pack. Shade's ability to express without any words made it easy for Jack to know what he wanted, it it wasn't for that it would have been impossible and awkward to try and talk to him. He was relatively relaxed but just as he opened his mouth to talk, the doubts and worries invaded him again forcing him to speak with an obvious desperation in his voice.

"What am I going to do now? We have no home, the wolves are hungry and I don't know a thing about leading a pack, we have to do something quick. I don't know what to do, what am I going to tell the rest of the pack? What if we are attacked by more wolves and I don't know what to do? What if the hunters come back? What should I do now? I can't even think clearly with all of this pressure and even if I could I have no idea of what needs to be done, I don't even know where to start!"

Shade remained quiet, thinking. His eyebrows furrowed in a position that stated he was mulling the situation over. The black wolf walked carefully to Jack's side and laid down on the smooth surface of the ground. He put his head on his paws and kept a relaxed aura around him. He was attempting to show Jack what he should do in order to calm down. Aiming his eyes from Jack's face to his paws, Shade once again communicated through his body language, rather than using words. He found it more effective this way, and besides, he still needed to know he could trust Jack before telling him anything truly important. In the back of his mind, Shade knew that the young wolf was trustworthy, but his instincts told him to be patient and make sure, just in case.

His thoughts drifted every now and then to the touch of his parents that he remembered, back when his eyes and ears hadn't even been a possibility yet. He breathed in the smells around him, somehow trying to bend them into the ones that were there when he was so young. Smell and touch had been his only companions. That and the taste of warm milk from his mother. He nearly rolled his tongue when a flashing memory passed by. Slowly but surely, however, he returned to reality and focused on Jack again. His ears flicked sideways for a moment, capturing movement quite a ways away. Most likely some members from the pack. He wasn't sure exactly what they were doing since this area was so secluded, but he could only guess that they were looking for a meal.

Jack couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Seriously?! How can you be so relaxed when we are all bound to die?!" But Shade seemed to be on a strange state of strong relaxation.
Shade completely calmed, and it was kinda soothing for Jack too, he followed Shade and lay down, head on his paws just like him. Even without any words he was good at getting to Jack. The young wolf closed his eyes and took a really deep breathe which felt like water in the desert for him after all the events going on. After breathing slowy for some time his mind finally was starting to slow down and he started to think clearly. It was impressive how relaxed he became after having such a panic attack just a few moments ago. It felt so good being like that that he wished he could stay like that forever, but his pack needed him and he had to face them and start being the leader they needed so much. He slowly opened his eyes and sighed. Without ooking at shade, he asked for his help to start his journey as the alpha."Listen...I think that before guiding the pack I have to take the time to get to know them. They won't want to be lead by a complete stranger, but I'm going to need your help if that's not much of a problem for you."

Brandy lowered her head to the water and lapped it up. Her topaz eyes darted from the trees across the lake, standing on the other side of the small lake was a rather large wolf from a rival pack. Even from a distance Brandy could tell it wouldn't tolerate her so close to it's boarder. But Brandy didn't considder herself a part of her pack so she took a few steps in the murky, mud-smelling water, simply to test the wolf on the other side. The massive rival wolf exposed it's teeth and puffed out it's dark coat, but Brandy kept on walking. Now belly deep in water, Brandy started to glance down at passing fish. She opened her jaws wide and bit down into the water. The river was packed with all types of fish, salmon, troute, halibut, it was all there. Brandy brought her face up, revealing a nicely sized fish. The young wolf wagged her tail stiffly and bounded back to land. On the other side the powerful wolf stood, legs stiff, fur bristling. Brandy licked her paws and began to consume the fish, indifferent to wheather or not the pack had food. The wolf on the other side began to bark wildely but Brandy ignored it. She finished her kill and trotted off, fish blood staining her cheeks.

After he'd consumed his meal, Draco lifted his once handsom head and inhaled deeply. He had lost his scence of smell after a fight a long time ago. The wolf pinned his ears back at the sad truth and began to limp back to the den where everyone slept. The pack is in ruins...This is all Jack's fault...The bitter wolf thought, feeling his stomach growl. He couldn't stand the new leader, the old leaders son! How could that moronof a wolf ever do anything?! Why would he leave his ignorant son in charge when Draco was clearly the best option! The old wolf snorted in anger and rolled his shoulders foward, he came to the clearing where there was a large underground den and sighed.

((Ooc: What's Jack's dad's name?))

After Jack had calmed down, Shade was quite pleased with himself. Honestly, he hadn't been entirely sure that would work. Of course, it worked to calm down his own steaming nerves, but for young wolves it usually came up flat. Shade had merely gone on instinct, assuming that an alpha's son would have the wits to manage it. And he had been right. Then this wolf was fit to lead. That also led to the possibility that he was definitely worth trusting. After all, as Shade slowly stood up after him, he heard Jack ask for his assistance. Shade was a bit surprised, but didn't show the emotion on his face.

He came up beside him, nodding. He looked at Jack and spoke to him for the first time. "Jack, right?" He asked. His question had a cool edge to it, as if fluid was rolling across his tongue. He stared at the wolf for a while when suddenly he looked up at the gaping son shining down on them. He breathed calmly, trying to locate something he wasn't sure of, something he didn't even know. Bringing his head down, he walked a few steps in front of Jack and let a smile pass his lips. It was only a faint one, for it curved at the very tips of his muzzle, but a smile none the less. "I think you'll prove to be the perfect alpha."

OOC: Mmmm...never thought about it, let's call him Zev :)

BIC: Jack's mouth was open but it took some time before he was able to actually say something."Uh...yeah...Jack it is..."
Shade's voice was much different than he imagined, although he wasn't sure how he'd imagined it being Shade such a mysterious wolf. He took another deep breathe, the fact that he had Shade's support felt really good, with such an ally he was sure his time as an alpha would be much easier, and his smile although a bit creepy, was very comforting. "Alright, then I guess I should bring the pack together for a meeting, right?" Not really sure of what he's doing, Jack howled for the pack to know a meeting was to be held, hopefully all of the members would go, he had never done something like that and it was really important to start with the right foot.

Aias was just walking around the forest, thinking about past again, with a smile on his face. He sighed, remembering the good old times with Zev, the greatest leader any pack could have. And now, his son... Aias at first wasn't too fond of the pup, something in his mind told him he wouldn't be a good leader. But now that Jack has grown up into such a great wolf, Aias has changed his mind. He was now pretty sure that this kid will do a great job as a leader. Yes, he was still a bit lost, but it takes time anyways. Aias only wished to be closer to the young wolf, to help him. But, Jack was sheltered ever since his birth, nobody could talk to him. That was a law of his father. But now, Aias thought that it was about time for Jack to get to know his pack.

His ears perked as he heard the sound of a howl. Aias smiled to himself as he recognised it to be Jack's howl. That should mean that he's ready...
Aias turned around, and slowly padded to the direction from where the howl came. He was actually eager to get to know the new Alpha better.

Shade chuckled softly and almost incoherently. Using his voice for the first time around strangers who had never heard it typically had the same expression: shock, surprise, or something around those borders. Very rarely did he come across a wolf who showed no emotion. Those were hard to come by. His ears pricked up involuntarily when Jack's howl echoed through them. Force of habit from his years surveying everything. As the melodic voice of their new alpha rang across his black ringed ears, Shade could sense a turn of wind in the air.

The wolves should be headed this way by now. He backed up a bit, heading to the side of the trees. He was a few feet away from Jack, though not terribly far. Sitting down on his haunches, Shade managed to get comfortable on the ground below him. His eyes scanned the area for any incoming creatures, however no one was in distance as of yet. He nearly forgot about Jack until the howl stopped. Turning quickly to face him, he nodded his advice. Jack was starting to get it now. That was good. He'd pick up the rest in no time. Suddenly Shade wondered why the rest of the pack couldn't see that he was so able and ready. Most of them just thought he was a kid with no sense. Of course, Shade showed no bias until he figured things out for himself, but he could probably see where they came from, hearing their point of view. That was only the cover of the book.

Brandy was trotting at an easy pace, when she heard a howl ring out across the territory boarder. Usually the she-wolf would pay no mind to a meeting, she hadn't when Zev and his mate used to call meetings. Brandy stopped her easy trot and stood a minuet, her intelligent eyes deep in though. The young wolf pondered for a moment where those two old flea-bags had gone. Reaching no conclusion she deemed them dead in her mind and became increasingly curious about the howl she had just heard. The red wolf snorted and began trotting in the direction of the howl. She sound had come from the other side of their territory, but it was only a few minuets away. The young she-wolf kept her finely-tuned ears tilted forward; ever curious to whom the howl belonged to. She finally reached a point in the forest where she could hear the quiet breathing of two other wolves. Brandy took a long breath and trotted into the clearing, her gait clearly stating that she was rather indifferent to the whole meeting. She looked over at a white wolf, around her age and snorted again. So this was the new leader, a wolf no older than herself. Brandy looked skeptically at Jack and took at the edge of the clearing, blending perfectly with the shades of the sun.

Draco hadn’t heard the howl at first, but quickly noticed it as other, younger, wolves tilted the heads at the noise. He too, tried for the noise and heard it clearly. The elderly wolf wanted to curse at his old age, most elders of the pack were treated with respect, and of course he was grateful for that. But there was something about that kind of respect the younger wolves gave him; they acted as if he was not capable of understanding them. This annoyed Draco greatly. He grimaced at the thought but then began limping off towards the sound. He was not weak, but his hips were a recent problem for him. The elder wolf walked with a slight limp, nothing too recognizable. Draco lifted his rather large head and took a deep inhale of the scents coming from the sound of the howl, he pause momentarily, recognizing his daughter’s scent. He and she were never close, she hated him, and he hated her, no love in that relationship. Draco shook his mighty head and continued forward. The black wolf paused again as he came to the clearing, seeing Zev’s offspring so close. His mouth twitched into a snarl, but he kept it down and began striding into the clearing, his muscles rippling as he did so. The black wolf sat nobly at the edge to the clearing, not acknowledging anyone. His head was held high and his ears were pinned back.

Shade's ear twitched at the familiar feeling that someone was watching them. He could already hear the other wolves beginning to approach, and heard the light padded footsteps of one some ways behind him. Twitching the end of his tail, he signaled to anyone who may be near that he could sense them. Although he wasn't sure where they were. They kept their sounds well hidden, and taking a glance back only revealed the trees. Shade was in no mood to find out exactly who this wolf was, but he had cut his gaze towards her without even knowing it. He looked back towards the clearing, however, uninterested in the whole matter. There were more pressing things going on at the current time.

Jack took waited for all of the wolves to gather around and took a deep breathe after they were all there, it didn't take too long for the whole pack, or at least all the wolves who wanted to remain in the pack, to get to the meeting point. Some wolves seemed nicer than others, and many wolves didn't look happy and it was hard to tell if it was because of the pack's current situation or because of their new alpha but he'd rather not try to think too much about it, he may not like the answer.
It took him some time to choose the words he'd use. Finally and after giving a worried look to Shade,he managed to complete some kind of a short speech and tried again to gather some courage. He started talking trying to speak loud and clear enough to give a good impression on the wolves but he just couldn't help his voice from cracking from time to time, the nerves the pressure and the fear was clear as water in his voice."Ok...thank you all for answering my call. My name is Jack and as many of you may know by now...I am the new alpha wolf in here, now I know that these have been some tough times for us and our current situation is far from perfect... Listen guys....I know that we don't have a territory our own, a place to call home, that we've lost many friends an family including..." He took a moment to breathe and keep composure before busting into cry, he'd been so busy thinking about the pack that he hadn't take the chance to think about his parents, but the wound that was left by his lost was starting to burn."...including my father and mother, the previous alpha couple..." He took another moment as he realized that mentioning his family now was much harder than he ever thought."...but I also believe that if we work together we can restore the peace and happiness that this pack once knew. I promise to do my best, but before we start working I want you to return to your normal activities and I'll go meet you family by family to get the chance to know you all and hear all of your advices and proposals..." By now he had run out of words and didn't know how to dismiss the meeting, so he took up some more time to think."Uhmmm...that would be all for now, you may go and thank you for your uhmm...time."
The young wolf held his breath while he waited for the wolves' reaction, he had no idea of what to expect, he just hoped he had done good.

Aias smiled while listening to Jack's speech. Jack appeared to still be lost, shy, and kinda in panic. But not many in his situation could still form a decent speech for a pack of yet unknown wolves. That made Aias respect Jack.
As Jack finished his speech, Aias thought he probably wanted all of them to go. But he decided to ignore it. He walked up to Jack. "That was a great speech for a new Alpha that was in panic few minutes ago. I do trust that we can all make it." he said, smiled, then lowered his head in submission. Then walked away, with a big smile on his face. He finally got to talk with the new Alpha.

When Luna heard the howl of the new leader Jack she raced past Apollo. She wanted to know what this knew Alpha was like. But Apollo told her that he'd make a horrible leader, and he thinks he would make a great one. She had to agree that Apollo would make a great leader but then he'd be busy all the time, and she won't see him much.
When Apollo heard the howl his fur bristled. "Luna, let's not go," Apollo barked. "Anyway were too far away. The meeting will be starting in just a little bit,"
"Well not if we run," Luna said smiling. "Come on! It'll be fun," she said running out of sight.
Apollo and Luna soon started to hear the voice of the new Alpha. The meeting had already started.
The closer Apollo got, the angrier he became.
The two burst through the bushes hearing the last part of the meeting.
"D***, we missed most of it," Luna said looking at the new leader with interested.
Luna walked toward the new leader and of course Apollo had to follow.
Before Luna could say a word Apollo interrupted, "Jack.. It’s amazing that you were made leader." He said wearing a fake smile. "You know, being leader is a big responsibility," He said trying to keep a straight face.
Luna then spoke, "I think you did a great job with that speech. But I didn't hear all of it though," she said sighing. Luna felt Apollo nudge her so she followed him over away from the leader.
"Luna, he didn't do a good job. He was mumbling all the time and looked quite scared." He said with a growl. "Whatever you do, don't accept him as a leader. He just not made to be one,"

Ooc: I feel weird doing colored texts XD So i'm just gonna do both black (:

Brandy listened with uninterested topaz eyes. She didn't much care for the new leader, but decided she'd give him a chance. The she wolf noticed Luna and Apollo come up to the new leader. She knew both of them to a point, but never showed interest in talking to them. The pretty red wolf arose to her feet and stretched very much like a cat. She shook her fur once to get any dust out of it and sneezed as the tiny dust particles flew into the mid-summer air. Brandy looked at Jack with cold, and judging eyes, sizing him up in comparison to her 'father'. The young wolf shivered and looked over at Draco, who was of course, bristling, clearly showing his anger, and impatience with the young Alpha. Brandy glared at Draco harshly but the just flashed his teeth at her.

Draco listened to the speech with white hot fury; he’d traveled all the way from his den to listen to a lousy speech from a pup who didn’t even know what he was doing! The elder wolf stood, his head carried high, his pelt bristling and approached the young wolf. But he paused to think for a moment, the clever, devious, old wolf thinking up a plan. Draco noticed his daughter watching him with that same blank expression she’d normally posses and flashed his teeth at her, but she didn’t budge. The old wolf made a mental note of ‘teaching’ her about manners later. Draco smoothed his coat and pinned back his ears in a way of mock submission “What a fine, young pup you’ve become” Draco said, his old raspy voice, disguised into a lavender silk one. “Yes you are very much like your father, Zev, though I wonder if you posses the same…Qualities as him” Draco said “I could tell you exactly what kind of a leader that he was, but it’ll probably just bore you, and you probably don’t want to listen to some elder wolf” Draco said, backing up. He knew that Jack would be too curious to refuse a story about his father.

Brandy shivered as she listened in on the conversation that Draco was having with Jack. She wanted to warn Jack to stay away from the evil wolf, but she didn’t care enough. If her father messed with Jack he’d be banned, and even if a lie that Draco told hurt and or shatter Jack, Draco would still be gone. This pleased the red she wolf, she sat on her haunches again, still almost invisible from view.
