And Jenna's behavior, not to mention Balto's, mostly seems to support the notion that he had never really expressed his feelings for her up to that point. I think it just cae down to Steele picking on Balto because he was a wolf; the dog answer to racism.

Besides, we saw further on how Steele behaved when he clearly saw Balto as a threat to his own supremacy. If Balto had been such a threat before, wouldn't it be logical to suggest that Steele would have gotten violent sooner?

Not really going to get into this but I think it was a bit much to call Steele a racist. Steele's anger towards Balto may be because he is part wolf, but that anger might actaully be derived from fear. It is well known that wolves have killed dogs, especially when they are pulling sleds. This along with the fact of Balto being much smaller could possibly be a way for Steele to get back at an animal that he naturally fears, and probably is too proud to admit it. Humans do it all the time with animals sadly.

This is true, but hating someone because of their ethnic background is still racism even if it's because of fear.

Besides, Steele looked pretty darn confident picking on Balto. And contrary to popular belief, studies show that most cases of bullying are not based on fear or insecurity in the bully.

That's a bit much. He wasn't at all enraged when Dixie smacked him across the face. He was shocked xD I know guys who have a male superiority complex, but they're not violent.

Let's see, Steele's modus operandi: When charisma (or what passes for it in his case) won't work, try a con-job (as with Jenna) or brute force (as with leading the team). If neither of those works. Go bananas and make sure that if you can't have it, no one can.

Agreed here. Not many couples have remotely interesting chemistry, but people wind up preferring it anyways.
