Romeo yelped as the dog catcher gripped his scruff tight before throwing him into the cement kennel. The dog catcher slammed the metal door shut and Romeo's ears rang for a moment before he shook his head to clear it. Looking around at the kennel, he saw two metal bowls with cheap food pellets and murky looking water. Beside those was a moldy looking bed that didn't seem inviting at all to him. He ignored the lump of what used to be a chew toy and peered through the wire mesh into the dark hall. There were kennels lining the walls and Romeo could see that each one contained a dog. To his left was another cage but on the right was a wall, telling him that he must be on the very end of the line of cages.
Romeo heard his name being called softly by Sadie and pushed his nose through the mesh, "Sadie? I'm over here!" He barked quietly, trying to see where his sister was.
Inside the cage to the left of Romeo, a golden dog peered through the wire mesh at the newcomer. She pricked her ears as Jackson's voice echoed through the hall. The kennels were unusually quiet, but typically the dogs were quiet when newcomers came in. She turned to Romeo and whispered, "Hello, my name is Shiva." The dog turned to look at her but quickly slunk back into the shadows of his kennel. Clearly the dog was shy and Shiva wondered if she could help him feel more comfortable here.
"It's okay... None of us here will hurt you..." She murmured, ignoring the fact that in a separate building there was short tempered beasts of dogs that would tear you apart if you looked at them cross eyed.

Ace finally came out of the shadows, his face showed how calmed he was, he even looked kinda happy despite being locked. "Shiva's right, you'll be alright and if I were you I wouldn't get used to your first class suites, I have the feeling we will be out of here and back in the street really soon. By the way, my name's Ace!" Ace started chewing and playing with an old ball in his kennel, he seemed to be enjoying his stay. Like as if he didn't know that he was being locked in a pound."Sm, who ared or nu frnds?" The ball in his mouth made it impossible to understand what he was saying. He was actually enjoying being on that kennel.

Ooc:// By the way, I hope it's fine with you that I can't describe things as nicely as you guys do. English is not my native language so thinking up big and fancy words is a total torture for me.
Ic:// Ignis peeked through the fence to get a glimpse on what's going on. Her eyes were adjusted to the dim light of the room so she could see just fine. "Huh, newcomers." The small dog mumbled to herself. She then turned to her bigger neighbor, Jackson with a barely noticeable smile on her face. " I can't wait to meet them, " She spoke in a calm and a confident manner. It was obvious that Ignis didn't want to make friends - she was just curious about the stories of the dogs and any news they know so she could find out more about the outside world. Because Ignis had to face it - sitting there in the pound would rather obviously limit your knowledge of the outside world. And the small dog hated that.
Ignis trotted to the bed of hers and sat down on it. She never slept in that bad excuse for a bed. It was uncomfortable. She was stubborn enough to completely refuse to sleep here and she slept on the ground instead. Which was rather stupid, she admitted, but having the pride and ego the size of a five story mansion does things to you.
The puggle waited patiently for the outside hour. It was probably one of the few things she didn't hate about the pound, the others being; food and water, and even though they were never really fed good brand of food or actually clean water, but she was pretty happy they were being fed. She also was fond of the fact she was never stuck with the same old company. Sometimes a new dog would show up and that would always make her mood a little better.

Once the newcomers had arrived, Sable approached the front of her kennel with excitement. Her golden eyes beamed happily and she clearly showed she was not a vicious dog who was dropped off at the shelter because she was too overly aggressive. No, she was very happy to see these new arrivals. Her tail wagged excitedly. Sable was abandoned not too long ago by her master after she was disappointed that Sable did not live up to her expectations of being a fine show dog. And since she did not want a failure in the house, the woman dropped Sable off at the pound, maybe to give Sable another chance with a better owner. Sable, personally, did not harbor any ill-feelings towards her old master, nor did she harbor ill-feelings towards other humans. She was very excited to get a new owner, but now she was even more excited to hear that there were new arrivals. She loved seeing new dogs at the shelter. It brought change to all the usual faces she sees a lot of the time.
Sable barked excitedly. "Hi! My name is Sable!" she introduced herself. "There's nothing to be afraid of. This isn't a bad place. We're treated very fine here." Though she was only talking through personal preference. The other dogs, especially those who grew up on the streets, might not take to her opinion so happily.

Ooc:// I just wanted to let everyone know that I am leaving for three days in the next hour. I will be back on Teusday afternoon. So after Hunter posts, this roleplay will be paused until I get back.
Bizarre - That's alright. And, honestly, I would have never guessed that English isn't your native language because you write in it wonderfully. But thanks for telling me anyways.

Shade found himself a bit shocked at their current situation. They'd been getting along fine until this moment, when they'd been captured and impounded. He took a look around him, attempting to get used to this place that somewhere deep down, Shade knew they'd be stuck in for a while. Despite the company of new dogs everywhere here, Shade was a bit uncomfortable in this small space. It was dirty, filthier than the streets they had walked since birth. The food was practically inedible, the water looked as if one lap of it would make you deathly ill. Shade shook his head at the entire idea.
He soon heard his name, however, being sprung about by a familiar voice. "Sadie?" He asked aloud. Hearing his small voice under the wave of so many other shouting ones, the mixed breed decided to pick up the tone. "Sadie, is that you?" He squinted his eyes, attempting to see through the darkness of the kennels. Eventually, he managed to see out of the corner of his vision a familiar figure. It was Sadie! "Sadie, I see you! I'm over here!" He called. Then he heard his other sibling's voice. "Romeo? Where are you...?" He asked rather inquisitively. He hadn't the slightest clue where Romeo was. His brother's voice was always so quiet... Shade couldn't tell which direction the source came from.
He did, however, know that beside him were a lot of other dogs fighting to introduce themselves. He wasn't too keen on introducing himself to them so early on, but if he knew his sister, a friendly dog all around, she'd most likely introduce all three of them given the chance. Shade sniffed the air, noticing another dog to the left of Sadie's kennel. He seemed to be nervous. After all, he was shivering violently. He narrowed his eyes to see through the darkness, not saying a word. Just studying.
Banshee couldn't stop himself from trembling. This environment was too much for his heart to handle. The humans made him nervous. The dogs reminded him of a home he'd like to forget. Every time one of the kennel workers came around to change the food, Banshee felt almost inclined to bite their hand right off its socket. He couldn't run away here. And that was what got to him. The shepherd mix was so used to running off whenever he felt frightened that he'd gotten too used to it. He did, however, noticed a few new dogs.
And while this place tended to remind him of his first home, that place wasn't the worst in the world compared to his last human household. And so, he decided to let his presence be known to the newcomers. He was always willing to try making friends. He picked himself up off the dirty floor. He was one of the few dogs who actually slept on the excuse for a bed they were given. Though that's the only time he touched it. When they were sleeping. So, he had been on the floor this whole time. He shook his fur out, attempting to get rid of all the dirt and grime. He successfully completed this mission. With that, he put his snout as far through the fence as he could and said, "Hi there! I'm Banshee. Who are all of you?" He said, referring to the three new dogs. His tail was still twitching nervously, but for the moment Banshee managed to get himself to stop shaking.

Ooc:// UNPAUSED!!!
Bic:// After her first shout for her brothers, the kennels seemed to erupt in chatterings and greetings and introductions. As soon as Romeo answered her, Sadie moved to the right corner of her kennel, sticking her muzzle threw the small gap between her mesh and that of a trembling german shepherd. She tried to find her brother, but he souned like he was on the opposite side of the room. "Romeo, you're really far away!" she called back, knowing this fact because she had no way of seeing him. She settled back into the center of the kennel when the golden retriever to the left introduced herself as Sable. But before Sadie could reply, Shade's voice barked her name. She returned to the right side of her kennel, finally seeing the shape of her brother two cages down from her. They were only separated by the german shepherd who finally stood up from his shaking position and greeted her and Shade. "I'm so glad I can at least see you," she called to Shade over Banshee's head.
Not wanting to seem rude though, she introduced herself to Sable and Banshee. "I'm Saide, and this is my brother Shade. We have another brother named Romeo, but it sounds like he's all the way over there." She motioned to the right side of the room, where most of the far away dogs just looked like blurs and shadows. "We were just on our way out of the city when those people caught us."[b]
Jackson could here Sable and Banshee talking to two of the newcomeres while also listening to Ace and Shiva as they greeted the other brother. Being in the middle and not close enough to either conversation to really join in, he found himself a comfy place on the cement and decided he would introduce himself when the dogs were all let out and he wouldn't have to shout across the room just to talk to the new dogs. [b]"I'm sure you'll meet them," he said to Ignis. "You always do." Everyone at the pound had learned about Ignis's passion for gossip, though there wasn't much going around at the pound. Other than Ace's plans of escape, they really did have a lot to talk about.

Ignis decided not to respond to Jackson, and watched the new dog that was placed in a kennel next to hers. He had black, rather long coat and from what she heard, his name was Shade. She watched him talk with another one of the new dogs, and only then she decided to approach him. “Hello there. I heard your name is Shade, right?” She spoke, with her rather short muzzle near the wire mesh. She tried to speak in a calm manner, trying hard to hide her enthusiasm. She loved meeting new dogs. “My name is Ignis.” She introduced herself, and then she waited for the other dog’s response. Showering a dog whom she never met with questions just as she met him or her was not how Ignis got her information. She actually was rather patient when it came to that.

Shade had managed to pay attention to the conversation at hand while at the same time attempting to look for his brother. Since he was probably closer, if he looked hard enough he may be able to spot him. Sure enough, after a bit of searching with keen eyes and a set mind, he spotted Romeo's familiar figure. He turned to his sister and nodded. "Same," He replied. He turned to the direction Romeo was in. He was about to say something to his brother when his ears suddenly caught wind of his name being used by an unfamiliar voice. He turned to his other side and saw Ignis there.
He nodded through the mesh when she asked the first question. Of his name being Shade. As for what she said next, Shade believed it probably a bit rude to keep entirely quiet to someone who was being so friendly. And so, he said, "Nice to meet you, Ignis." His voice was extremely free willed. It sounded flowing, not high pitched in the slightest, and curious overall. He made sure not to let it sound tight. That would give off a bad impression.
However, the dog couldn't help his nature. He wasn't the shy type. No. Certainly not. That was usually reserved for his brother. He wasn't the overly talkative type. Some of that was reserved for his sister. He was the one who listened and learned from his surroundings. He never talked unless he felt it necessary. And this often got him into situations where strangers felt he was brushing them off. He never meant it that way, of course. And overtime he had learned what they thought, too. He was determined to keep himself the way he was, but to be able to give off a better impression to others. Because they had an important mission given to them by their recently diseased mother. He had to be able to cooperate with others in order to fulfill that mission.
Banshee nodded, wagging his tail ever so cautiously, as if someone could come through the walls and from behind and grab it. He turned to Sadie through the mesh of the wire. "Most of us were caught just off the street. You say you were out of town? Where exactly were you headed?" Banshee asked.
He had a sudden stroke of curiousity. One that he couldn't help but share. After all, these kennels almost never had any action or good enough reason to get him to talk much. He was usually so afraid of his own shadow that he never bothered to say a word to anyone less they snap at him in turn. He had learned that all the dogs were nice here, over time. Though, the facts still remained that when you were cooped up for so long, the outside world became that of a foreign language to you.
He was eager to learn what was going on. Or, at least, what had provoked these three siblings to find their way out. Usually these kinds of 'moving' stories were interesting.

OOC:// Aww, this plague of no muse is spreading DX ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kennel seemed to suddenly come alive as the dogs' interest in the newcomers came to. Sable sat down in her kennel and listened as Sadie explained why they were there. "Awww that's sad. What's it like living on the streets?" she asked out of mere curiosity. "I was bred for show, but my owner got disappointed when I didn't perform well. So I got dropped off here." She wagged her tail and smiled. "I don't mind though! Hopefully a nice human will come along and pick me up! I'm very excited for that." It never crossed Sable's mind, though, that she might be the only dog within this vicinity of the kennels that would be excited for a human.

As Ace heard Sable talking about her excitement to get a new owner he stopped playing inside his kennel his whole expression changed to a very serious one. He got closer to his kennel door to try and see Sable and to make sure that he could be heard from wherever she was. "Well sweethart I'm sorry but if I were you I would start changing my plans. Nobody is going to come for any of us. You may as well start looking for a pack of dogs to stick with." His voice was a mix of friendliness and a scary kind of cold seriousness, the change in Ace was strange, like if someone had said something that really hurt him. It was a completely different kind of voice and attitude than his usual joyful and happy one. "I'm sorry but...the sooner you realize it, the bigger the chance for you to make it out there. If your plan is to survive you will have to rely on other dogs, beleive me...humans are not to be trusted..."

"Nice to meet you too. " Ignis politely replied. Her ears caught the words of Sadie, who was explaining them how did the three dogs got here. "I'll talk with her later. She seems to be more open." Ignis thought to herself. Not wanting to seem impolite, she turned her head back to Shade. But before she had a chance to say a word, she heard Ace. "Look, Ace. Humans can be idiots. But they can be trusted. " The puggle spoke to the German shepherd. "Not all of them are nice, " with David's girlfriend in her mind when she spoke those words, "But it doesn't mean all of them are not to be trusted."
Despite the fact Ignis usually didn't participate in an argument unless she had the chance to shower others with witty comments, this time she was serious. She loved her owner David and they were best friends. That was until Sarah came in, his girlfriend. The puggle felt sick to her stomach just by thinking about her. That was exactly why she wanted to get out of the pound so badly. To clear her mind, to distract herself from thinking about her. There were little to no distractions here, in the pound, and that's why she got addicted to gossip. To keep herself sane. And also to dream about life outside of the kennel, which she actually liked. She liked being a street dog because of the actual freedom. She could run around, she could lash out her energy, forgetting Sarah completely.
She then turned back to Shade, whom she had forgotten for a while. "I'm sorry about that." She spoke calmly. "So, what do you think about this place? I'am quite sure none of you like what you are seeing, but nobody really likes being here, at least to my knowledge." She chuckled. She knew better than to instantly ask questions about their life.

"Just because you believe that," said Sable cheerfully, "doesn't mean anyone else will. Life on the streets isn't as easy as it's made out to be. But if life on the streets is where you prefer to live, then you can live there. I've grown up my whole life under the watchful eye of humans and I would love to continue sticking to that lifestyle, thank you very much." She didn't mean for it to sound snobby. She was only stating her opinion. If Ace didn't believe there was good in humans, so be it, she would accept that. She kind of figured that someone would be in protest over her view of humans. But she had been a pet all her life. The only place she had ever known was the home of a human. "So please don't be saying I'm wrong and I need to change my plans. It's my own opinion, and I know for a fact that a lot of you who are here won't agree with it. So I have no hard feelings to that. But I do have hard feelings when others try to say I'm wrong just for having a different opinion than you."

Ace's seriousness went out as quickly as it came, he didn't expect that kind of reaction."Wait a minute there muffin...I didn't mean to be rude. I'm just trying to help you, really...I wouldn't want you, or any of us to make the wrong choice..." He then turned to Ignis. "And as for you my friend...I don't know if every single one of them are like that, but as far as I know at least almost all of them are, and I certainly won't risk it with any human. There must be someone in here that understands what I'm saying I mean...if we are to trust someone, why should we trust humans?" He sighed and his whole body returned to a state of relaxation and usual happiness, his smile returned as he shrugged."Well that's my humble opinion...ABut aaaany way, what's going on with our good ol' friend the dog catcher? As much as I enjoy being in this beautiful kennel, I could use some outdoor activity right now. If he doesn't get us out soon, I'll just have to complain with the manager."
