This question has been asked on this site innumerable times. Both on the forum and in the questions section of Balto Source (and postulated in articles there). The fact is that there IS no official answer to that question. Only what various fans want to believe. If you've watched at least Balto by now, and then both (or either) Balto 2 and Balto 3, then you know there is no way for that to be defined officially.

That should put this matter to rest.

Of Course there IS no official answer but we CAN make up our own stories to pull it all together.

You have contradicted yourself several times in this topic...first what's "in the movie", and then what's "not in the movie". What "we think", then what "the people in the movie" think.

No one fan has the same interpretation. You're going to get such a wide variety of answers, that it could not possibly meld.
