That type of line from your eldest would normally make you extremely protective and worried over your others cubs. You certainly would not threaten to kill one or slash one to create a permanent scar. You would probably never send your cub into battle either, because that would have really shaken you to the core. I doubt that. Zira has already established herself as a character who has put getting revenge over the needs of her children. Besides she never really cared about Nuka in the first place. True, his death left her feeling some kind of emotion, but otherwise she didn't become protective of her other children. She even threatened Vitani when Vitani said that the fighting had to end. Zira is just not that kind of character. Besides, even if they did include Nuka's extended death scene, the result still would've been the same. It establishes Zira as a crazy big bad.

I kinda thought that as well. Maybe she would've cared more about her remaining cubs if he had said it. Given her nature, I can't say it's 100% likely, but since it's not in the movie we'll never really know.

They should have kept the words.
"Didn't want anything dark," bah! They seem to forget that Snow White is dark, that the few scenes for Bambi, such as the fire and the fight between Ronno and Bambi was dark. That The Hunchback of Notre Dame was incredibly dark.
Those words for Nuka would have made his death way more emotional and mean something. I mean, come on! He died trying to get his mother's attention. You don't get more emotional than that.

Truthfully, the said movies were better with what they gave off. Same with Nuka. His death would have been more powerful and emotional if the original and planned words had been kept.

When i saw Nuka for the first time, I noticed that Zira didn't pay much atention to him. But when he died, i was like "Well, Zira likes him!" But when i saw the deleted scene... *sighs* Nuka's last words made me cry... "I finally got your atention, didn't I?"
