Jinks was content with watching everyone else in the kennel lose their minds over the current abandonment. She sat lazily on her haunches and lowered her head trying to look as uninterested as possible, when in reality, she was eager to find out what these dogs would do. Jinks watched Mishka flip out and then Maxwell's feeble attempt to calm her down. The hot headed female seemed to not get the message because she continued with her frantic pacing. This bothered Jinks, though, she couldn’t understand why. With a fake yawn Jinks slipped to the floor and tucked her legs underneath her. She shivered at listened to the howling winds, this also bothered her. Jinks lifted her chin and opened her mouth; she then let out a high-pitched howl. The howl didn’t really mean anything, and it didn’t have to, it was already chaotic enough for her to get away with her usually troublesome habits.

Name: Ember Breed: Utonagan Age: 2 years Sex: Female Crush: N/A Pups: N/A New or Former Race Dog?: New Race Dog Personality: Ember is a bit on the shy side since she's new to racing, being more on the observant side while in the kindle and learning about the other dogs. Once most get the know her, she's a rather feisty female that loves to run and romp in the snow. She tends to use sarcasm, but is rather loyal and caring to those that are close to her. History: At a young age, Ember would always go and watch the races that were held in town with her siblings. She always dreamed of joining them, but being the only female of her litter, her brothers teased her saying she'd never make it. This often led to fight between them as pups. Finally she grew older and was trained by a townsmen after noticing her love for running. She now awaits to become part of a team. Pic:

OOC:// Marina15 - Accepted! Raven - I can't say I did because I never really saw that movie xD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mishka snorted at Steven. "Well obviously they should've considered us too! If they did leave, they should've remembered that we were here too! How do they think we're going to survive? I don't see any food lying around here, do you?" Her bushy tail bristled as she continued to pace back and forth. Mishka suddenly jumped at Jinks's howling and turned at her. "Shut up! You're ruining my concentration!"
"Ugh Mishka, just do us all a favor and shut up," growled Maxwell as he stood up. He turned to Jinks. "Don't listen to her, she's just having an attitude problem. And as far as I'm concerned, I agree with Steven. How can you possibly know that something didn't happen to them? We know that humans are a fragile species, that's a fact. So just calm down and think things through instead of shouting at everyone else." Maxwell rolled his eyes at Mishka as she blew off his comment and continued to pace in irritation. He wished the humans took her away at least, she was a nuisance to everyone.
Color jumped up onto some fallen crates and looked out the small window. The wind was so thick and blinding that Color couldn't tell what was going on out there. He whimpered as he pressed his paw against the ice cold window. "Hey Maxwell, you don't really think the humans really abandoned us do you?" he whimpered, not wanting to think about it. Though he was an older race dog, he was still a pup in a sense. He didn't want to believe that Mishka was right because what did Mishka know? Still it was nice to hear some reassurance from someone as elderly as Maxwell.
Maxwell snorted. "Of course not! Our humans loved us. They trained us and treated us with love. There would be no way they would leave us here. But they also had to flee, and I can't blame them because as I said earlier they are more fragile than we are. We have fur that protects us well against the winter storms. They don't. But I assure you that in due time they'll be back to collect us and we go and enjoy life as we've always done."

Jinks leapt to her feet and smiled as her tongue lolled out of her mouth. The recognition amused her in a way. Jinks’ multi-colored eyes flickered with humor and she staggered to her usual crate. She circled around it for several minuets before deciding she wanted out of her crate. With an anxious yawn, and an even louder howl, she joined the group of bickering dogs. Jinks ghosted around them until she was certain her presence was known, and then she crouched down and licked her paws. Jinks was in no hurry to figure out why the humans had left, she was actually pleased by the out come. Now she had time to calculate an escape, Jinks looked disdainfully at the ground. She was now aware of what Mishka and Maxwell had spat her way. She thought long and hard about their words and finally came to a conclusion that she no longer shared and acquaintanceship with them. She was now unappeased by them and would no longer waste her time trying to hide herself from them in order to gain an amount of trust. Jinks lifter herself to her feet and began pacing, not out of nervous habit, but out of a simple knowledge it would drive Color to madness.

Scarlett had just woken from a dark slumber. Her owner always gave her a peel. When she thought she would be gone for awhile Scarlett looked around and just saw a little bit of dogs around her. Then she heard someone complaining alot and looked at Mishka and frowned. "What happened to us?" She said so confusing and slowly stood up and then fell back down because of the medication was strong still. Then she over heard some taking from the cage behind her. "Where are our humans" She asked everyone.

Color laid his ears back and whined loudly when he saw Jinks now beginning to pace as well. He didn't like this and especially did not care for the atmosphere he was in. He jumped off the crate and shyly approached Jinks, his head lowered. He had such a hard time approaching females, whether he had an interest in them or not. They were a foreign species to him, a kind much different than his own. His tail instinctively tucked itself between his legs, which made him feel even more embarrassed because of how stupid he felt. Everyone else was so confident and he just... wasn't. "Please stop pacing, it's making me nervous," he whined quietly, hoping Jinks would consider his words.
Mishka sure didn't. First she rounded on Scarlett and snarled, "Our humans abandoned us. Simple as that. They don't want us, so why bother to stick around? They high-tailed it when they had the chance and left us here to roll in our own slobber." She then turned to Color, her tongue lolling from her mouth in a way she had of laughing at him. "You're so pathetic! Stand up like a real male!" She approached him, standing over him and not even once acknowledging Jinks. She shoved her snarling face in front of his, and it made Color only cower more.
Maxwell rolled his eyes and stood up. "You guys..." He shook his head, heading for the door and resting his paw against it. "This environment is not healthy at all... I wonder if..." He pressed his paw hard against the door, hoping it would budge. It did but barely. He would've stood on his hind legs to try and push the door open if it wasn't for his limp. He turned to the others, friendly or not, with a look of assistance on his face. "Would anyone care to help me push this darn door open?"

It appeased Jinks that Color had asked her to stop, but instead of answering with her words she simply sat herself on the ground and thumped her tail. Jinks had forgotten the last time she had spoken, wait. Had she? Had she ever spoken in front of these dogs? Jinks snorted, sure she had! She must of! But as she searched her memory Jinks noticed a same pattern. She’d wake up, eat, train, howl, scratch at her cage and howl herself to sleep. Each time eventually being yelled at either the humans or other dogs. Jinks still searched her memory, frantically, for anytime she’d open her mouth to speak. Her life had been such a blur, such a disappointment. Her eyes went blank and she had completely forgotten about Color until Mishka came over and snarled. The way Mishka stood…Her bristled shoulders, her stiff legs, and the fire in her eyes… Jinks felt each individual hair on her back stand straight up. Her shoulders hunched automatically and she felt her lips curl back. Jinks felt a power stride though her, as if each vein pulsated with anger. Her stomach flipped and rolled, half worried, half excited. Jinks rose steadily to her feet and ignored Maxwell’s call for help. Her temper flared inside of her, it licked at her thoughts like a flame. She thought a million things at once, how to kill Mishka, the best way to get out, the best way to survive. But Jinks simply took a few steps forward and stopped, was it worth it? No. She pinned her ears flat, deciding whether or not to speak. She finally simply sat back down and closed her deep blue and green eyes “Please,” She managed, her voice like silk “Please, be nice to Color’ the words flowed naturally form her lips. She wasn’t sure about what had just happened; talking was so…unnatural for her.

Scarlett started to cry because of Mishka and her riud comment. "Fine! Be mean I just woke up and you are being rude. You mutt." She said to her. Then she started to run into her cage door so she could get out. On the third try the cage broke open. She walked out not having any trouble.

Ember opened one eye to peer at the other dogs that surrounded her. Their bickering had woken her from her slumber, but she had to tried to go back to sleep but with no use. The only thing she could do now was pretty much watch and listen. These dogs confused her. Getting out of the cages wasn’t really a problem; she had done so numerous times in the past. She watched as Steven and Maxwell were beginning to open the door. Her eyes widen in curiosity.
If she remembered correctly, Dorian would never do something like this to her or any other animal. The last thing she remembered was him promising that she would join a wonderful team. If a team was meant to be locked up in a room, with a bunch of dogs in cages then this was utterly useless. Standing up in her crate, she swiftly picked the lock with her claws and padded out into the open. No dog paid attention to her so she turned her gaze to the nearby window. An idea crept into her mind. Perhaps that could be an escape route.
”Has anyone thought about using that to possibly get out of here?” she suggested, pointing with her tail.

Mishka snarled at Jinks but kept her mouth shut. She laid her ears down in irritation and turned her back to both of them, her temper still fuming. She hated being around all these dogs. They were stupid, annoying, and didn't listen to her when she was obviously right. Oh well, she thought to herself. They'll soon see that I'm in charge here. That I'm to be respected. Still she could not warp the thought that Jinks had come to defend Color around her head. Who would want to defend him anyhow?
Maxwell turned his attention away from the door and to Ember who suggested using the window. He smiled patiently. "That's a very good idea. However... it won't be of much use for me. The drop from the window would already put me in a worse shape than I already am because of my limp. BUT I think that's a good idea, and maybe more successful than trying to open this door." He stood up. "Why don't some of you jump out the window and see if there's a way to unlock the door from the outside?"
Color could not believe that Jinks stood up for him. That was certainly meant a lot to him. Once Mishka turned her back to them, obviously now uninterested, Color looked to Jinks and said a quiet, "Thanks" before turning to Scarlett who was upset because of Mishka. He lowered his ears and went over to her. "Hi, are you okay?" he asked, hating to see anyone cry because of Mishka's own insensitivity to the other dogs' feelings.

So this was all that came from talking? A possible enemy, that she would now have to look out for, and a few head turns. Not to mention Color simply slinked away, tail tucked. Jinks cringed and brought her head low to the ground, slightly ashamed to have spoken. But more embarrassed than anything, she had felt Steven’s eyes set on her when she spoke. If she were human her cheeks would have flushed rosy red, Thank God I’m not human. Jinks thought haughtily. She listened a bit to Maxwell but kept her gaze set on Mishka, simply burning a glare into the other female’s neck. Hopefully Mishka would notice because Jinks wasn’t done with Mishka yet. Oh, not by a long shot, she began to kneed the ground with her paws in a cat-like fashion. Jinks knew no one had the guts to accuse her of her cat-like habits, so she continued to glare.

"I'll give it a shot," Ember announced getting to her paws. It seemed only well that she should after coming up with the idea. "Unless anyone else wants to do it or join me."
She swung her head to look at the rest of the dogs. She could tell that Color was probably not ready for the job as he was busy sobbing away. As for Mishka...her attitude would probably get the best of her so there was half a chance she would join and half a chance she wasn't even listening to this entire thing. Sighing, she made her way over to the window, pressing her paw to the glass. It was cold, sure enough, but could possibly be knocked out by a hard kick. However, glass could get caught in her pad and that would leave her with a limp for days. There was the possibility of just running through it and crash land on the other side, but glass could possibly get caught in her fur. She didn't want that to happen either.
Her eyes began to trail over the room. "Someone care to help me find something to break the glass," she called. "That way no one can have glass in their fur or pads."

Mishka snorted. "Humph, it's so simple to break glass," she said matter-of-factly as she strolled over to where Ember was. "I bet I could break it with one go. After all, I am a malamute and big enough for the job." She went to the window and pressed it with her paw. She snorted with arrogance. "Simple enough," she said. She took a few steps back before charging at the window, leaping through it by barely much, and landing ungracefully in the snow pile below. "Simple enough!" she called out from the outside in her arrogant 'See-I-did-much-better-than-you' tone.
Color laid his ears back and strolled away from Scarlett and over to where Ember was by the window with interest. Peering through it, he kind of half wished Mishka landed awkwardly and ruined her legs, but when he saw her gather herself to her feet, he sighed. He turned to Ember. "Your turn," he said politely. "I'd like to help. I know I'm useless but I'd still like to help out." He wagged the tip of his tail in a friendly-like way. Shy though he was, he knew it was much better to make friends than enemies, so he was giving it a shot by trying to help out, whether the help was wanted or not.
