Karma shifted as well, in order to communicate better. The wary look remained in her green eyes, and she brushed a strand of dark hair behind her ear apprehenisively. "I'm not going to kill you," she said slowly, wondering what was wrong with this werewolf. Was he mentally ill or something? Insane seemed to be a possibility right now; a double personality at least.

"But are you okay?" she continued, curiosity forcing the words out her mouth. "I mean, you seemed...bloodthirsty before you shifted." She took a step back unconsciously as she said the words.

Cody looked down in shame and said "Then you have seen to much of the beast. You see a witch cursed me because I attacked her during my first moon. I don't even know her name. She easily took me down though and cursed me to be like that."

He sighed and looked back up at Karma and said "Whatever I did, I am so sorry. You shouldn't have been here while I was morphed. I don't know how strong that THING is but it's very powerful and I don't want to kill you. Or you me." He got up and started walking but stopped near Karma and said "Sorry that you had to meet me. I'll be on my way now." He walked around her and left the shack, going nowhere in particular.

"Wait!" Karma called out, running after the werewolf. "I...I'm not sorry I met you. You seem like an interesting guy...despite the curse." She gave a small smile as she added, "Besides, I never got to introduce myself." She stood in front of him, holding out her hand. "I'm Karma."

Why was she talking to this cursed werewolf? Out of sympathy, maybe? That was a possibility, but Karma thought he seemed to be a nice guy. He didn't choose to be a monster when he morphed. Maybe it was sympathy after all. Something in his eyes showed sadness, pain, loneliness...

Cody thought Should I take it? Should I let her stay with me? Should I risk it? He shook his head and said "Please leave, Karma. I'm not a good person to hang out with. I'm cursed and I'll hurt you eventually when I'm out of control. This curse is treacherous and I can't take a chance hurting someone else. It would destroy me. Please. Just leave." He walked around her again and started running in no particular direction again.

Karma, in excellent shape, soon stood in front of him again, barring his way. "Well, not helping you would destroy me. So, you're stuck with my company," she said cheerfully. Her green eyes were observant, though, taking in the uncertainty and fear on his face. She didn't know why, but she knew she had to help this werewolf. He looked like he could use it, too.

"No....not yet," Karma replied. "And trust me; I won't despise you. You didn't choose to become this...did you?" she added, as an afterthought.

Cody shook his head sadly and said "The witch was right next to me when I first turned for my first time. I had no control over myself. So she defended herself against me and cursed me because I attacked her. I wish I had better control over myself but I don't and didn't." He sighed heavily but said while holding out his car keys "Here's my car keys. Follow me. I have a nice car." He walked over to his brand new Camoro and said "Here she is. Hope you like her."

The car was nice, the paint still glossy and unscratched. The clean interior and pristine condition showed that it was new. "I'm jealous," Karma smiled, trying to lighten the mood somewhat.

Cody smiled and said "Well, it's ours now. Since you are helping me. Where do you like to eat at? I could go for anything. Being chained up like that is suffocating." He opened the driver's side door for Karma to get in and said "May I?"

Karma's small smile widened, and she slid into the car easily. "I don't care much. Just pick the closest place and we can eat there," she said, shrugging. Never a picky eater, she would eat most anything. And a lot of it.

Cody chuckled and shut her door. Once he was in the other door, he looked over at Karma and said "What about Golden Corral? Or Olive Garden? I think either of those would do for me. But Golden Corral is my fave. They have good steaks, especially the one in Ohio."

"Golden Corral sounds really good," Karma said. Though now a human, her preferance for meat didn't change. The thought of steaks made it growl, the liquid rumble obvious in the quiet air. Her cheeks took on a faint blush of embarrassment.

Cody smiled and asked playfully "Aw, is the little baby hungry? Want some steak?" His stomach growled as well and he blushed beet red. He lowered his head and turned his head away from Karma in embarrassment.

Karma laughed softly, a smile forming. "Guess I'm not the only one, huh?" she teased, prodding him in the stomach.
