The lead dog of the team, Fabian, glanced at her and looked away, before returning his hard blue gaze and starting into her wolf-eyes. "You're not welcome here." he snarled.

Marie flattened her ears against her skull at male husky's harsh words. "But I thought anyone could try out for the open position?" she asked in a quiet voice, even less sure of herself than she had been before.
"Any dog can have a practice run," Dasha sneered, her head held haughtily to how her superiorty to the wolf dog. She stutted over to where Fabian was and stood beside him. Then she added in a fake sweet voice, "We just can't afford the risk of having a wild animal on the team."

Fabian raised his black-and-white head, and glared down at Marie. "Wolves are not welcome here." he growled, deeper in his throat then his earlier words that had been spoken. "Wolves will never be welcome here." he said.
Sasha came up on the other side of Fabian, nodding at his every word.

Marie whimpered at their glares and ran out of the gate as fast as she could.
Sasha laughed as the wolfdog run away. "I think we helped her discover who she really is today," she said with a sarcastic grin.

Fabian nodded. "And she'll never forget it." he said darkly.

(I'm gonna make this part as short as I can)
Marie ran out of town and into the trees of the forest. When she reached te refuge of the woods, she finally slowed her pass, trotting along the snowy ground until she haulted just an inch from the trickling water of creek. The wolf dog followed along the bank of the creek, traveling towards the large lark in the center of the forest. Marie stared down into the dark water of the lake, the afternoon sun glinting off of her reflection. If she squinted her eye, she could almost see a husky staring back at her instead of the dog that was really glancing up from the water.
"I wish I was that dog," Marie whispered in a sorrowed voice. "That dog that is truely in my heart."
"I can make that happen," a soft, sweet voice said from behind her, and Marie jumped in surprise when she heard it. She quickly turned around and faced a silver doe who was almost glowing.
Before Marie had anytime to say a word, the doe silently blinked and nodded her head. A strange feeling suddenly filled Marie, flowing from her chest to the rest of the her body. Marie whimpered, wondering what was happening to her. She stepped back away from the strange doe and to shake away the feeling. Suddenly, the ground disappeared from under her feet and she tumbled down the bank of the lake, splashing into the water.
Marie quickled swam back to dry land and climbed back up on shore. She shook the water out of her, which felt very different than just a few seconds ago. She glanced around, but there was no sign of the silver doe anymore. Marie sighed, and thinking she might have just imagined the whole ordeal, returned to her spot by the lake. Marie stared down at her reflection and gasped at the sight she saw.
The gray fur that surrounded her face was now a creamy white. She glanced at her paws and every spot of her body that she could see, and noticed all her marking had blended together into a single white color. Marie recognized herself as a Mackenzie River Husky, but she had no idea how it happened. Not quite sure she believed it yet, Marie went running back to the sled team she had just run away from. She sprinted back through the trees and into town while the sun was still in the middle of the sky. She only skidded to a stop when she raced into the gate and was face-to-face with the lead dog of the team again.
Panting from the long run, Marie straightened herself and sat with her head high. "I'm here to try out for the open team spot," she announced calmly even though she was still breathing heavily.
