I loved it!!! :) After seeing the trailer last year I thought it would be your average princess movie where theres nothing much going for the female lead apart from her good looks and lack of personality. I was wrong :P
It was almost flawless, the main characters were intresting and all had a great backstory and personality, not only that but the supporing characters also had this care and attention put into them, they werent just to fill in the blanks.
And the music was just ... what I would expect from disney! It felt as if I was watching a 90's disney film :)
Another thing that concerned me was the animation, im not too big a fan of 3d animation ... so I was a bit unsure about whether I would enjoy it ... but once again I was wrong! I loved the animation,it was flawless, fast moving and the lantern scene was just outstanding
overall this film which followed princess and the frog persuaded me that disney is at least on the road to recovery and will hopefully return to the disney we knew in the 90's :D

Finally saw this recently. I followed this movie through its production stages.

Things I liked:
[*] How the "dashing thief" stereotype was handled with Flynn - showing that this was his self-portrayal because of his insecurities
[*] The art style... it looks gorgeous
[*] "Mother Knows Best" and the abusive mother-daughter relationship... this was always going to be a lil' risky but it worked excellently!
[*] Rapunzel's excitement at all her little steps to independence, and the building of her character via this
[*] The interesting twist on the tale's premise and ending - adding the healing hair was a great boon, as super-long hair by itself would simply not be interesting enough. The ending, even I already knew the result, was surprising in the way it was carried out

However, there were a few (very few) things I didn't like...
[*] The wide-eyed, whimsical, spritely girl personality of Rapunzel. I understand they were aiming for something different with Rapunzel's personality but did they really have to go for this? It's one of the most annoying personality types in live-action rom-coms because it's so unrealistic, at least they applied it to a fantasy world or it would have been annoying. Sure, Rapunzel is naive and whatnot coz she hasn't been out in the world, and she would be wondrous at things, it just grates on my nerves.
[*] UNRELATED: The entire marketing approach to this movie. Why? Because Disney was petrified for this to be called a "princess" movie thinking that the reason Princess and The Frog (their previous animated feature) didn't do well was because boys saw the word "princess" and screamed and ran away from the cinema (forgetting that PaTF wasn't well advertised, also that was marketed as a princess movie when it was about FROGS). So they decided to change the title to the supposedly gender-neutral Tangled, plop Flynn Ryder in and ran a trailer COMPLETELY mis-representative of the film to play up the parts that Disney marketing thought would appeal better to boys! You know what that did? That made me think that Tangled was a WORSE movie than it really was! This approach has extremely infuriated me - first they show a frog movie as being a princess movie, and then they show a princess movie as 'anything but'. Sigh.

Ahh yes, Tangled. <3 Absolutely love this movie. Maximus and Pascal crack me up every time too. xD The story had an excellent twist to it, and the characters were well made; all the way from Rapunzel to the Mime who was just there for comedic relief. The coloring and effects were so incredible too.. Especially the scene with the lanterns, which is by far my favorite scene.
