The best part of these versions is the new storyline concerning N and Team Plasma. It plays like the older games but in a way it has more to it than the other games had. However I don't like a lot of the pokemon in the game. BUT I do like how some of the pokemon are callbacks to the older pokemon (Blitzle/Zebstrika = Ponyta/Rapidash, Tympole and it's evolutions = Poliwag and its evolutions). Along with the callbacks to the pokemon, I love the callbacks to the older generations.
As for the starters... I gotta say I love them all, but I really love Tepig even though it annoys me that it's ANOTHER fire/fighting type. Dewott/Samurott seem better fighting types, and Pignite/Emboar should've been fire/dark types.
Overall, GameFreak really impressed me with this, and I would definitely recommend people who are avid Pokenerds to go out and get these games.

I have several things to say about these games. To start out with, I've been following them ever since Zorua and Zoroark were first revealed to the world in February 2010. I was incredibly excited to see what would become of Generation V--mainly because Generation IV had FINALLY started to bore me. So you can imagine how happy I was when the starters were revealed (even though I didn't like Tepig [Pokabu] back then, and still don't entirely even now) and the version mascots as well. I will say right off the bat that the designs for the mascots are hard to get used to; people complain that Zekrom looks like a robot and Reshiram has a size-A bra and cock feathers. But in the end, I enjoy both of them, and I really do feel that they are exactly what Pokemon should be designed to look like.
Then the rest of the Pokemon were revealed. I will say that I enjoy most of their designs, though some (like Klink, Klang, and Klinklang) are less than satisfying. I am glad that we FINALLY have a pure-Flying type Pokemon (even if it looks like something I drew with fingerpaint in Kindergarten...) and a satisfying Grass-type starter.
The games themselves are INCREDIBLE. The graphics are the best yet, while keeping it simple enough to relate to the previous generations. The storyline is unique and the plot point is among the first of its kind: If you force Pokemon to be with you, are you really its friend? And I also liked the changes within the games: triple battles, battling the Elite Four in any order, having two rivals instead of one--the list goes on, but you get my drift.
The version differences are a welcome surprise as well; instead of just different Pokemon per version, there's also a different Gym Leader, different cities (Black City, White Forest), and tons more!
I've played both, but in the end I must say I prefer Black Version--mainly because of the Pokemon you can choose to have in there. But they're both absolutely a great addition to the Pokemon series, and I look forward to the third version when it's released!

I have the Black version. Younger, I was almost addicted to Pokemon games, especially the Silver version. Over time, I just forgot the Pokemon games. Even if I like a lot the Black version, I think I have fewer the enthusiasm to play.
I think I'm more focused on anime. However, I remain convinced that ALL Pokemon games are really very good games.
