I was confused. I remember MLP as very childish and girly show everyone avoided, so I don't really get this adoration. And the style doesn't look like original MLP neither. I though it was comedy or something.

Yeah, that's how the original series from the 80's (and several of the later ones after it) were. But this new series is written and developed by Lauren Faust - a pretty prominent name in the animation industry (look here up :3) and they changed up the style completely to give it a new start, and also probably to help distinguish it from its past series, because this one really is 100 times better at pretty much everything.

^ what she said. It's like a miracle cartoon. It's just so good.. I can't explain. It's so well made and well written, with nicely thought out plots, unique and fun characters, and it's just so cute and funny. Seriously. Watch it. xD

The old series kept me away, the new is exactly what got me watching it. I love the animation style of it. It's a my little pony cartoon actually worth watching.
