His laugh was almost infectious, and Casy found herself laughing softly along with him. "My house? Just around the block," she said, gesturing with her hands. "The forest is in the same direction, just farther."

Damian nodded. "Well, that's good I guess." Another chuckle came from his throat. "So it's on the way?" He looked further up the road and shook his head. "Sorry, stupid question." He turned to look at her face.

Casey laughed again. "I would agree, but that would be rude," she teased. She tugged on his sleeve briefly, gesturing for him to follow. She began walking, her green eyes glancing over her shoulder. "Come on," she said.

Damian laughed. "No, not rude at all." He grinned mischievously. After Casey tugged on his sleeve and passed him looks to follow, he did as she gestured and trailed alongside her to her house. When they finally got there he stayed in the front lawn and chuckled nervously, putting his hands in his pockets in an embarrassed looking state. "Am I allowed in?" He asked hesitantly, but also with a hint of joke in it too so as not to be so serious.

Casey nodded, grinning. "Of course. I'm allowed to let random boys in when my parents are out of town," she joked, unlocking the door and holding it open for him. Immediatly, he cat rushed out, and threw himself at her, purring furiously. "Oh, sorry. Forgot about Tiger. Are you allergic?"

Damian stepped in with a hesitant foot, looking around. "Nice plac-" He stopped himself short when a cat's meows sounded off the walls. Suddenly the source of the purrs showed it's figure and pounced on Damian's new found friend, Casey. "Nah, it's fine. I'm used to exotic pets by now," he laughed. He knew Casey may never know just how exotic fit the word 'pets' but it was a funny irony.

Casey raised one eyebrow fractionally, wondering exactly what he meant by "exotic". "Really? What kinds of pets do you have?" she asked, picking up her own striped tabby. She ran her fingers through his thick fur, and Tiger's purring increased in volume. She set her stuff down messily on the floor; she would straighten it later.

Damian looked up for a minute, obviously trying to think out his reply before finally answering. Eventually he came up with a pretty truthful answer for the dragon that ran free in his home. "Well, I own a reptile or two. They're the type no one's really seen before. Very rare." He grinned. "Also a dog. German Shepherd. Though, I guess it depends how you look at it if you call the canine exotic too." He chuckled.

"So do you want to go or do you need a few more things?" He asked.

"We can go," Casey said, suddenly remembering why they had come her in the first place. She set the feline down quickly, and he let out a small mrrp of indignation as he landed roughly on his paws. He stalked off, tail in the air. "He'll get over it," she said, grinning at Damian.

Damian watched the cat stalk off and couldn't help but chuckle a bit. This girl seemed extremely nice for having met her only a short while ago. Maybe he could make good friends after all. He waited there, though. He waited until he thought Casey was ready. And then he walked a few steps towards the door and opened it hesitantly. "After you?" He asked, or... said.

Casey smiled. "Thank you," she said, walking out through the door. She waited for Damian when she was a littleways down the sidewalk, bouncing on her feet slightly, impatient to get going.

Damian smiled as he closed the door, though keeping his eyes on Casey. As soon as he felt the door close and heard the lock click into place, he turned back towards it, gave somewhat of a smirk of triumph, and bounded after Casey in a sudden and mad try of activity. For some reason, at the moment, he felt ready to take on the world.

And then he wished Cyclone were there, too. He wished Casey knew about his world. The dragons. Then he could ride with Cyclone in the air and even take her along for the ride! Then he'd have someone to confide in... He wouldn't be all alone. However, he didn't know just how much his wish may or may not come true.

He cast a longing glance both at Casey who was now beside him, and forwards towards the direction of his house. It just so happened to be very close to the forest... For practice purposes and just by sheer luck. They would surely pass it very soon on their way there. And then he would have to be careful with Casey as a witness.

After all, he knew Cyclone. And since he and Cyclone shared a connection through minds or however that went, the striking black beast would be able to sense Damian a ways away from the house. Giving him plenty of time to rush to the door or to a window by the front. Damian and the dragon hadn't had company in so long, it was only natural.

I'll have to warn him ahead of time, Damian decided.

They reached the forest, the ground dappled with shadows and sunlight. It seemed emptier of animals and stuff today than normal, but Casey barely noticed, plunging immediatly into the trees. She grinned at Damian over her shoulder as she walked. "Come on!" she called out. The rest of her sentence was cut off as, once again, she tripped.

Immediatly she gained a mouthful of leaves, and spat them out hurriedly. Her chin was scraped from hitting the ground, and it felt like she had stubbed her toe. Great, she grumbled silently. Just great. Why did she have to be so clumsy?

Casey turned around sheepishly to face Damian, and a glint of green caught her eye. Immediatly, she looked at that instead. It was...a green stone, but incredibly smooth an shiny. Curious, she picked it up, surprised to find how light it was.

Damian had to force himself to stifle a laugh as Casey fell. Though when she did, he attempted to help her up. It seemed she had done that on her own by the time he got there, however, and was going in the direction of a peculiar stone. And Damian nearly doubled backwards when he realized what the 'stone' was. It wasn't a rock at all. Just as he had been noting to himself how thankful he had been that they made a detour and didn't in fact go by his house, here Casey was holding the secret he had been trying to hide right in her hands.

What should he do? Should he tell her what is really is? Or should he lie and try to get the stone and keep it safely hidden? No. There must be a reason no one else has found the egg yet, Damian reasoned. Perhaps Casey was destined to be another rider. And perhaps Damian's wishes could come true to finally have company in this and to not be alone.

However, he wasn't sure how to express any of this at the moment. He supposed just to wait and see her thoughts before blurting anything out. And as he came up behind her to watch her hold it, he wondered briefly how strange it was that someone out of Alagaesia found a dragon egg.

Casey absently brushed a loose strand of dark hair behind her ear. Her hazel eyes, a shade of green surprisingly similiar to the color of the stone, narrowed in curiosity. It was like no stone she had ever seen before. She tapped on it with her knuckles, and a clear, melodic sound rang out.

Her eyes wide, Casey looked up at Damian. "Do you know what this stone is?" she asked, running a finger over its smooth surface.
