This is because there are no standards and limitations enforced. Plain and simple. There is not only NO logic whatsoever to a "sparkle" or "vampire" dog, or a dog with freakin' WINGS or other accoutrements, but that these outlandish and ridiculous concepts would have any connection whatsoever to even the fictional version of the Balto cartoon world, seeing as that world, fictional or not, DOES have its basis in reality, and the production designers took great pains to ground it (as much as possible) in the real world.

There has to be a line drawn SOMEWHERE. Too much permissiveness on this site will drive it right over the deep end. And this sparkle dog ruling certainly gave it a good firm shove in that direction...

Totally agree on that one. The whole concept of sparkledogs always got under my skin. I don't understand why anyone would want to create them in the first place. They don't fit in with the Balto universe and therefore have no point and don't belong. Why not create a realistic character that you could put to good use and write into a fanfiction? I wouldn't go as far as saying it's ruined the site, though. The only thing that I think has really changed since my day back in '06 are the new members and lack of originals, less wolfy and Balto-related usernames  and convos on the shout box , and of course the sparkledog thing. It's not the end of the world though--or this site. It still has a lot of give and a lot of great, devoted members on it. The sparkledog issue has been resolved so there's really no reason to rant on and on, but it feels good to say what's on your mind anyway, haha.

But maybe, it could be a good thing. We can get rid of the sparkledog rule (I have nothing against them, I just know they don't belong here) as well as other uneeded rules. *coughhomophobicrulecough*

...did you imply we should allow homophobia on this site? o_0

I think she means to say that us not allowing Kodi and Kirby type pairings is homophobic (which is a non sensical word to me, been called that many times for saying that I thought it was wrong, but eh -shrug-) that's another topic.

Back to the sparkle dog thing, I personally don't have that much of a problem with sparkledogs as I do other things, there have even some good designed brightly colored dogs, but like many other members have been saying, they honestly don't fit into Balto. At least we don't have to see them if we don't want too. But I just don't see why.

Absolutely not. I believe homosexual talks and CLEAN homosexual content should be allowed like it used to be, but that's a different topic.

Actually ADGTH dogs ave very humanized(clothes, cigaretes etc.) and dogls like those belong ONLY there.

Anyway, this topic is not actual. It was about sparkledogs' accesories don't fitting in Balto's time(I gave up complaining about other realities). But now EVERYTHING is allowed. You don't even have to make a description for your characters, so I give up...

I agree. xD There are oddly coloured and accessorized dogs in ADGTH, so simply 'sparkledogs' (I really hate the label) should be allowed there, and only there.

The character section was bullcrap to begin with, and now it's just gotten 100 times worse. I've given up on it completely now.

I can see a limit on what you are all saying. But why people add headphones and whatnot to there wolf character, i think symbolizing there characteristics and personality into the dog/wolf. Adding sunglasses, ear rings, dye (if its not like rainbow), i don't see anything wrong with that. Yes it is a balto site, but i don't see any harm in creating one dog/wolf that symbolizes you, and what your all about. Now I'm not saying go to the extreme and add rainbow everywhere and stitches, tattoos everywhere. But like i said keeping it quite simple, i see nothing wrong, my opinion of course.
