The Silent Hill Series is definitely the best series I've ever played on the Playstation and Playstation 2. I own all the games (1, 2, 3, and 4) and I like them all (well...not S. H. 4 as much).

To be honest, I'm surprised some people actually like this game other than me.

They wouldn't have made three sequels, if it wasn't the case.

Sorry; wasn't being specific enough...

What I meant was that I seldom see people that like Balto (like us) or some other animated show and still enjoy the simple life of making the undead bleed an unsightly and semi-gorey black color.

One thing I've been wondering: In the game, is Silent Hill a physical world or a mental one? Or maybe even a spiritual one?

I'm not going to spoil the plot of the story, but actually I think it is both physical and mental (not to mention it depends on what ending you get really helps determine whether it was real or not) in the 1st and 3rd Silent Hills. Technically, the town exists and the character is running is running around in it's abandoned and desolated site. The mental lapses your character has is just another sign that more than just a pinch of evil is breaking loose- so what else to either wake up in some other area or just watch as everything around you turns to a rustic paradise.

Make things short: Town exists but broke off with outside world; stuff going on exists (or else why would you be there?); and of course...Harry just thinks its all in his head (yeah right....where have I heard that before? )

Silent Hill 2 and 4 had no real reason to exist (maybe if they blended with the actual story of the first game with the 2nd and 4th S.H. - like developers did with S.H. 3., maybe they would be better...

Maybe. But in the fourth game, when all those people died in Silent Hill, supposedly "in their dream", they also died in the physical world. They even had those numbers etched onto their bodies!!

That is why I left out Silent Hill 2 and 4: they have no point to them and couldnt care less about them (even though I bought them). Both physical and mental...Silent Hill 4 had no point absolutely relating to Silent Hill or even the right town...

Just for the record, Silent hill 2 is considered by many to be the best of the series...I always see people saying that on the forums I visit. And I think the same, the story and everything else was better in the 2nd than in the first. (I didn't play 3 & 4) I also love the soundtrack of Silent hill 2...

I loved the guitar solo in it Because it was fun sounding, from others I didn't like so much, but in the third 'SH3' there is good story line, I heard that but at the first it looks kind of strange... but when you get in to it, well then it turn out for good, And when that game is complited there come something funnier when you play it again with some sort of 'Special mod'

In it will come new weapon, 'Light saper' took feelings from my friend when he find that out 'hahahaha' But other wise I didn't have anymore so much of 'feelings' to play Silent Hill 2 again myself I have the director's cut version don't know is it having anything difference than the others....

The SH2 Soundtrack is great!! I think the song you're referring to, Pirkka, is called "The Theme of Laura" by Akira Yamaoka. It's a really great song!!

I've never seen the original SH, but I think SH2 is the best story-wise, SH3 is the best playable-wise, and SH4 is the best creepiest-wise.

Maybe out of America, but not in America. You walk into the local used game store to find a mint condition Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams for about $4.99 and no one even buys them. Plus, James was just looking for his already dead wife just to kill her again? The story on SH 1 and 3 is much better. Oh, and dont bother to play the 4th SH; its not too good, but it has a good twist.

well for me the story line, it was a bit interesting in 2 but in the third one it is bit diffrent, As Steet said for a Movie, nääh it would be Hard to make a movie about it, but I and my Friend have thought same (yes we have thought) as from the Third one, but in second one was the Hunting rifle, I didn't like from it because I couldn't shot with it easily, Pistol and Chainsaw are da Best!, As in Third when you Finish it you will get Light Saber ahaha I laughed when I heard that, but as a weapon Light Saber wasn't so good after all, but when you will get SMG what have endless ammo, then it is boring, it's more funnier to play against enemies with Hard way, and they dont die as easily then.

I knew that u would like the chainsaw now try beating it on the hardest mode for riddles and gameplay u will deffenetly like what u unlock and the ending but u have to beet it in a sertan amount of time and to never get hit or use any items to get the best rank to unlock the best stuff don't worry it's possible i did it and it was a pain to do so when u do it let me know.

play the other silent hills to know the hole story for number three u play as one of the charactors from number 1 and it is't herry mason, the things u unlock in number three are my favorits like the light saber infunit rounds for every gun and a bonus is the flamethrougher and the diffrent costumes are asome and funny like the saler moon costume is the funnist she will pull out the wond and tranceform and the ending are asome aswell. in number three u get to see the mother of the mane charactor i can't tell u the mane chactors name couse i would be giving away a little bit of the storyline.

silent hill 4:the room would have to be the hardest of them all and the the most heart stoping one of them all because it is in first person veiw and in therd peson as well and its asome so when u get a chance to play them do it heres a little secret i will tell u at the options screen press eather r2 or r1 to activate the extra options menu where u can change blood color and a lot of other things to and if u beet the game go to the extra options menu and where it says bullet x 1 click it and rise to a diffrent number if u want to know what this does well every time u pick up a pack of rounds doesn't matter what kind of rounds it will multiply the rounds by what number u put like for example u put bullet times 5 it will make every pack of hand gun rounds 50 insted of 10 i hope this info will help u disscover the truth of silent hill good luck and don't get killed.

ps if anyone needs help with any of the silent hill games let me know and i will help u, i can help u with anything u need help with i know how to unlock everthing and all riddles on every diffculty im not called the game master for nothing so if anyone needs help pm me or email me couse i like to help. and what steet said about a silent hill movie he's 100% right and i can't wait to see it and the credet song at the end of silent hill 2 was asome as soon as i herd that i went to my room and grabed my electic guitar and played it over and over again my mom was so pissed lol i would have to say it's one of the best survivle horror games of all time and resident evil is also asome and what steet said about re4 was true and ther smart and they know how to kill if u think the chain saw guy was heard there is another chain saw guy that his chain saw has 2 blade and he runs after u so don't shoot him untill he stops the fire at him couse if u shoot him while hes running he will keep running and slice your head off.

save the dog at the begining he will help u later on with one of the bosses and agian if u need help with any of the resident evils let me know beet'n all of them and unlocked every thing so let me know if u need help have fun.

Resident Evil as a movie was good. The first one was pretty gruesome (a.k.a. the laser-emitting chamber), but the second one was pure zombie-butt-kicking action!! As for Doom, creating a movie in the first person was quite an innovation -- but not a very good one. I never watched it, because i think even the trailers sucked.

Silent Hill, on the other hand...well, I think it'd make an interesting movie, but I don't see how you can incorporate some of the aspects of the game onto a movie.
