I vote yes! I havent been here long but I definitly think that our creativity is being smushed. This site is based off of a kids movie. Im not saying bring back the sparkle dogs, I am saying let people have a little more freedom in their characters.

I just send a PM to Steet and just ask him ( it's the best way I think ) if HE tells that it's not allowed, ok, it just delete Hecate. But if he tells that it's ok, please, just respect his rules. We can't always have what we want, the only think I WANT is to hear it from him.

Go back to the old rules. These new ones are rediculous.

Gotta say, the light blue/light yellow dogs don't really have a place here at BS (In my opinion) There's dA for sparkle dogs, ect. I think the rules are very out of shape at the moment, and I hope steet fixes it, since us mods are abit confused on it ourselves.

I completely agree with Cat. The rules on fancharacters are only to 'strict' if you have a highly uncreative mind. Sparkledogs and whatever horrid mutation (vampire dog, dogs with wings & other crap) need to just stay on dA where they belong. There are none in the Balto universe so they don't belong on BALTO Source.

See that key word there? BALTO. If you have that many problems making a character fit within a universe maybe you shouldn't try to make one in the first place. It is so easy a 5 year old could do it. -.-

And people can't b'awww about how no one will see their 'speshul snowflake' because dA doesn't care if you're mutant character is a vampire or a sparklemutt.

Steet's awfully busy, and thats what mods are waiting for, a clearer set of rules.

Finally, some reason on this site -_- I knew I could count on you

I keep seeing people complain that there's unrealistically-colored dogs in Balto. Now, Jenna's a bright red, we know. Dixie's white and grey-periwinkle, Ralph is blue-grey, and even Dusty is a purple-grey color. There was even a blue dog seen amongst the sled dogs xD

Now if someone sends in a character that's like any of those colors and a mod doesn't accept it cuz its unrealistically-colored, that's kinda dumb. But if someone sends in a character that's got like weird blue/green/red tattoos on them, or if they're a bright pink or purple or green, that's a good reason to not accept it for the colors. Those are a couple of the many traits of sparkledogs xD

People are also saying accessories are a problem. Well, what's the problem? THEY HAVE A FANCY PENDANT THAT THEIR OWNER GAVE THEM. Uhhh, okay? What's with the leg-warmers? IT'S MY FURSONA AND I WEAR THOSE. Ugh.... first off, I'm personally against fursonas on this website xD Second off, Nome in the 1920's didn't have brightly-colored articles of clothing, alright? So your black and white striped cut-covers will have to stay on Furaffinity, alright?

Jenna had a bandanna, Dixie had a fancy collar, and Steele had a cool collar as well.

Did you see any dogs walking around with a heart necklace? MY CHARACTER'S AN EXCEPTION, HER MOTHER GAVE IT TO HER. Yea, whatever. Get in a big ol' tiff about it. I'm sure that necklace is what's saving your character from being a Mary Sue.

Did you see any dogs wearing bracelets? WELL, TOBOE IN WOLF'S RAIN WORE BRACELETS! Yea?? Make a Wolf's Rain Source and put your character on there.

Did you see any dogs wearing t-shirts and hats? ITCHY IN ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN WORE CLOTHES! Then maybe your character belongs in 1920's NEW ORLEANS, in a universe where dogs have opposable thumbs, play cards, and sing songs with big-lipped alligators!

Did you see any vampires/werewolves/genetic mutations/cross-species/etc running around Nome? WELL, WHAT ABOUT ANIU!? WHAT ABOUT SPIRIT GUIDES!? WHAT ABOUT THE SUPERNATURAL AND UNKNOWN THAT HAPPENED IN ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN THAT PROVES THERE'S AN AFTERLIFE OR THE EXISTENCE OF ANGELS AND DEMONS AND OTHER KINDS OF MYTHICAL CREATURES!?

R-Really? This is Balto, not friggen Van Helsing. Do I have to REMIND you of what you're dealing with?

Fine, whatever, have your MILLION wolf spirit guides running around the place. You're not fixing the problem of "uncreativity" that you're unnecessarily complaining about, I'll tell you that. The mods let that slide? There's gonna be a slew of wolf spirits running around Balto Source. Not that THAT matters, seeing as there's more clones of my OWN characters running around, than clones of Balto himself.

But hey, if THAT'S your problem. Go ahead, have your wolf spirits. But its an INUIT thing, kay? They don't HAVE vampires or werewolves or wolves that can transmogrify into something spiky. If you want something like what you're wanting, make a Quest for Camelot Source or an UP Source or whatever.

All of the dogs in the MOVIE Balto had their fair share of originality. If you keep having to recycle designs, that's your problem. There's other websites you can go to to show off your so-called "unique" character that Balto Source is "wrongfully suppressing". Leave the BALTO fan character section for the BALTO characters. For the characters that actually could pass in this universe.

BUT CAAAAT, YOU HAVE CHARACTERS THAT DON'T LIVE IN NOME! YOU HAVE CHARACTERS THAT LIVE IN AFRICA, WHY AREN'T THEY ON LION KING SOURCE, HMMMMMMMMMMM!?!?!?!?

Don't be stupid, everyone in the universe knows how my characters, even if they're on friggen MARS, are linked to BALTO and not SIMBA.

Look at everyone else's characters, and then look at yours. Why are they unacceptable? If its cuz they have the power of flight, then get rid of that trait. If they're unoriginal BECAUSE of that trait, then its not an original character, and you are NOT being creative.

Be creative with the restrictions you're given. It's an obstacle all creators have to face.

This has to be a Balto fan character, so I'm not with activating sparkledogs, vampires etc.
Balto is cartoony. Some colors like bright red are replacement for reddish-brown. Dogs are as intelligent as humans, but they don't have superpowers... I agree with Cat here so much. Some characters in balto ARE spiritual, but they're not wearing ANY fancy stuff or being superbeasts.
For those who say that they can't be creative untill sparkleness/supernaturality will be approved... Uhhh... Don't think that if you give bracelets to your dog you're automatically creative. Necklaces, fancy colors or superpowers doesn't always make your character awesome. Try a little harder and make a good realistic character. You can combine natural colors so many ways and make a great-looking character without giving it anything unnatural abilities, so just stop whinning because you're lazy.

And the gold fur, just may be a vague way to describe it. Cuz even Golden retrievers aren't "gold", they're blonde, but a mod might think they mean it literally for some straaaange reason. Or for the fact that people tried to make "gold" characters on this site xD
