Errr...no offense, but....DUH!! That's kinda what they were aiming for.

The other is because of money. Even if I did have a good paying job, I wouldn't spend 300-500 dollars on a console.

Well, you didn't expect the latest VG Revolutions to be cheap now, did you? :D

Depends, Gamecube was very cheap when it was released. (200€ in Europe)
So nothing is impossible, if they really want it. But it's just a war of "who's got the biggest".

First off, Gamecube could've never been able to match up the competition of either PS2 or XBox -- at least in my opinion. That's why it was sold cheaper. Honestly, the only reason why people would be hanging on to their Gamecube right now would be for that new Zelda game that's comming out.

Now maybe, but it wasn't the case when it was released. On the contrary, no one cared about Xbox when it was released, so Microsoft had to push its console a lot with enormous sums of money to make it work. (firstly by cutting the price of it)
But you're wrong, worldwide, Gamecube has sold nearly as much as Xbox. In France, there are many more Gamecubes sold than Xboxes. So it was very well able to match up the competition, as you say.
I only blame Nintendo for not doing anything to keep it alive more longer. Their next console is all but ready, but they release next to no games on GC. This is not logical.

If I still haven't bought a PS2 yet, this is because I find it really too expensive for a console that is so old. PS1 was half the price the PS2 is, 5 years after its release, so it's not normal. Especially when you see all the problems that people have with this console, most people have to buy one every two years because it would break down without warning. So you can't buy one used, either...
(and seeing that I don't like kro$oft, I had no other choice but to go with Nintendo)

It will be different with the next generation of consoles, though. Seeing that Revolution doesn't interest me much for the moment, I think I'll just go with PS3, but only when it will be cheap enough.

Yeah, they are really expencive, they should lower the prices, alot, and I have to admit, they do break easy. We're already on our third PS2..But I think it's just because my brother and his friend play to rough with it, like they drop it alot. I never let anyone play my XBOX, except my friends sometimes, because I'm not going to waste my money on a new one if it breaks. I hardly play it anyway.

Steet I've had my PS2 for around 5 years now and really the only problems I've had is that rarly it will not play a dvd, and I have not pampered it! I mean I've left it running for a few days with out turning it off, I've also tripped over it a few times. It still plays fine.

Hmm...Well, anyone who owned GC at the time it came out also had to own Sonic Adventures. As I recall, Sonic was an original trademark of Sega, as Mario is for Nintendo. You remember how popular Sonic was back then? And now with the semi-new release, Shadow the Hedgehog, I can see why GC is sill in the competition.

Sonic? Mmm...No. I played the first Sonic adventure on Dreamcast, I never bought any Sonic game since then.
To me the "must buy" when the GC was released were rather Star wars Rogue leader, Pikmin, Smash bros melee.

You're rather lucky then, I didn't mean that all the PS2 have problems, but most have.
It's a bit the same, I had never got problem with my PS1, but many people did and had to replace it at least once. But when there were the PS1 and N64, there was no real choice (N64 games were way too expensive)

X-BOX 360 are much more graphic and more realistic then PS3's. They are so much better plus they have a hard drive in them so it takes no time to load, thye dont have to have a memory card in them either because they have a hard drive. It is a DVD and a Burner thats why they are really good. I don't have one but I would like to but they are so expensive and good to have, it's gonna be pretty hard to get one around here.

How much more wrong can you be? I mean really come on now. Even the info on the 360 you gave is completely and uterly false. I just cannot beleive you would even bother posting that. I cannot think of anything else to say without it getting to a flaming level.

Come now people, if you are not going to even think before you speak, then please, do not waste yours and our time by posting complete rubbish.

As for me, on the otherhand, I am waiting on PS3, I am a RPG'aholic and as long as the RPGs stay with Sony, then I will too. I got the ps2 becuase of FFX, and the Ps1 for FFVII, VIII, IX. So...we will jsut wait and see where things go. As soon as I hear info on whether the rpg market shifts, then I will just shift with it.

You can rest assured of that, since the Xbox360 was a terrible "flop" in Japan. It's over for the Xbox360 there, it has already lost the war, even long before the PS3 is released...
And since Revolution will use another gameplay, then it's a sure thing : all the japanese RPGs will come out on the PS3.
