"Well," said Professor Birch. "I am happy to tell you three that you all made in the full-fledged Trainer range! Hang on, I've got the sheet in here somewhere..." He led the three further into the lab.

OOC: I need to know what everyone wants to be in this RP. Like, I suppose, what "class" of trainer--bug catcher, ruin maniac, etc. If you want to make one up, describe it for me (except for Pokemon Rancher).

OOC: Before we continue, let me get this straight.
Gray, Pokemon Rancher, starts with Treecko.
Jay, Pokemon Rancher, starts with Mudkip.
Chase, Pokemon Breeder, starts with Torchic.

Poison_Kiss, a Pokemon Breeder will work out just fine. In fact, if this RP manages to make it that far, Gray and Jay would be a potential crush, running the same Ranch, and Chase helps them out regularly. It would certainly make a nice "break" from the norm.

So, could both of you confirm the above info? Just to make sure I got it correct?

Jay mentally punched a fist, unconsciously grabbing Gray`s hand and squeezing it in excitement. Her already large grin widened, a feat some would consider impossible.

One thought ran through her head repeatedly; I`m a trainer!

She felt electric, almost vibrating with pleasure.

"Here it is," said Professor Birch, holding up a sheet of paper. "Chase, you have passed at the 96th percentile. Jay, you have passed at the 97th percentile, and Gray, you have passed at the 98th percentile. You are all eligible to enroll in any college and pursue a higher career. And each of you get to choose one of these..." He unlocked the access panel on a machine behind him. In the machine were three Pokeballs--one with an orange top, one with a deep blue top, and one with a green top. "Gray, you choose first."

Gray's gray eyes gleamed. Top trainer! He strode up to the machine and stared into the translucent tops. The orange-topped Pokeball held a bright orange chick with small yellow wings. A Torchic, Gray recalled. The Torchic looked at him ambivilently. The deep blue-topped Pokeball held the Mud Fish Pokemon, Mudkip. It looked at him with an expression of distaste. But the green-topped Pokeball held the Wood Gecko Pokemon, Treecko, and its feminine eyes looked at him almost adoringly. Gray picked up the green Pokeball and pressed the button. The ball opened, and with a flash of light, Treecko grew to its full size of one foot, eight inches. "Treecko!" cried the Pokemon.

"Okay, Gray, you choose Treecko?" asked the Professor. When Gray nodded, Birch continued, "Would you like for me to put your name down on a college waiting list?"

"Yes, please," said Gray. "Put my name down as a future Pokemon Rancher."

"Okay," said Professor Birch, keying instructions into a netbook in front of him. He pulled out a small e-card and handed it to Gray. "This is your Trainer Card. It serves as your ID, your debit card, and a record of your Pokemon and battles. Jay, you next."

The red one caught Jay's gaze at first, and she peered closer at it. The Torchic inside seemed to almsot glare at her, and she put the ball down back where she had picked it up. That left only one Pokemon, since Gray had already chosen Treecko. Her green gaze looked at the Mudkip, who dipped it's head, almost like a nod of encouragment. She pressed the button, and the Mud Fish Pokemon soon stood beside her. "Mudkip!"

"So, Jay, you choose Mudkip?" asked Professor Birch. "Good choice. Do you have any profession in mind that requires a college? If you do, I'll put your name down on the waiting list for that college."

OOC: Sorry, I got my sentence a bit messed up there. I changed it, hope you can read it...

Jay snuck a glance at Gray, smiling. "Pokemon Rancher," she said softly.

"Oh, really?" asked Professor Birch, arching an eyebrow. He keyed in instructions to his netbook, and then pulled out another e-card. "Chase, your turn."

Gray stared at Jay, stunned. So, you weren't joking... he thought. You actually want to be a Pokemon Rancher.

OOC: Gray's a bit of a bonehead about romance, ha ha ha...he doesn't even realize anything.

"Okay, then," said Birch, making the requested commands into his netbook. "I must warn you three...the 'waiting list' for these colleges is based on acheivements. The more completed your Pokedex is...the more gym badges you have...even the time you've been on your journey, your cash, or your battle records...those all factor in. Currently, Chase, you are at a whopping 58,082,215th place...Gray, you are at 44,123,205th on your waiting list, and Jay, you are right behind him at 44,123,206th place. I'll update your place every time you use a PC. There's one by the reception desk by each Pokemon Center." He smiled. "Now, you need equipment." He gave each of them a red device that was obviously a Pokedex, and five red-and-white orange-sized Pokeballs. "Good luck on your journey!" he said, pleasantly.

Gray stared at the equipment as he put them into his bag (using the catch on the side of the Pokeballs to compact them into disks the size of nickels). A Trainer! And his Treecko was staring at him eagerly. He pulled out his Pokenav, bringing up the region's map. "Looks like the first place to go is Route 52," he said...

OOC: Yes, this would normally be Rt. 101. I counted the actual routes and there are 31 in Kanto and the Sevii Islands, 20 in Johto. This is the 1st Sinnoh route, therefore...

Jay's eyes glinted in anticipation, her Mudkip seeming to emanate the same feeling. "Let's go then," she said impatiently, bouncing a little in her excitement. "Mud!" the Pokemon agreed.
