Farren smiled that easy smile that was practically his trademark. "Hey, don't worry about it." he said, giving her a wink. "If I know that sly dog, he'll just give my dad the hairy eyeball, and Frida can come visit to make sure all is well anytime you need her."

Tosca grinned, nuzzling under Farren's chin and giving him a quick lick before tagging along after Twilight.

When she finally pulled up alongside the black wolf, she started off in a sincere tone.
"Twilight... I need to ask a favor of you..."

The black wolf gave her a narrowed sidelong glance. "Yes?" he asked. "And just what would that be?"

Farren pulled up along the other side of Twilight. "Well, you see... Tosca and I wanted to make sure that Kai was going to be just fine so we were thinking of asking my dad if we could borrow Frida one more time." Twilight scowled. He did not like where this was going. "We'd like you to go make the request in front of my father."

The black wolf gave them withering looks. "You can't be..."

"Serious." Twilight followed the wolf from Farren's pack as he led him to their caves. "Just had to pick me for this, didn't they?" he muttered to himself.

Tosca paced back and forth. She was a bit nervous about Twilight. After all, she still didn't know Farren's father that well and it was clear that he didn't like them too well.

"He'll be back soon!" Kai chirped in happily. "I betchya he'll beat 'em all up!"

Yuma laughed. "Yeah sure sis. He just went there so he could beat people up." he said sarcastically. Truthfully, he didn't think that they'd stick around to get beat up. The black wolf was too scary for them.


Ares looked down from his perch at the entrance to his pack's high cave as Twilight entered the clearing. Farren stood next to him nervously. He had snuck back to his pack's side of the river before Twilight left to come here. Ares turned to his son. "You've spent more time with them than I have. So who is this?" he asked.

Farren leaned over to whisper in his father's ear. "Twilight. He's the oldest member of Tosca's pack. He seems decent enough, but he likes to keep to himself. This'll probably be a short conversation." he said.

"I wonder why we make them so mad anyway" Tosca wondered absent-mindedly. "Is that a normal wolf pack thing?"

Una raised a brow but didn't say anything. Kai thought then shrugged. "I don't know, mom and dad didn't have any other packs to worry about"

Yuma was about to put his two cents into the conversation, but a tap on his shoulder distracted him. He turned to find Rowtag motioning off into the distance. There was a black figure slowly making it's way towards them. "Is he back already?" he wonder aloud. Just then, the black wolf swayed and collapsed, still some distance away. Rowtag took off like a bullet towards the fallen figure. "Tosca, come quick!" Yuma cried.

Tosca sprinted after her brothers, fear drowned out by concern and anger. What did they do to Twilight?! He couldn't have said anything that bad... could he?

But as she got closer, Tosca realized Twilight looked... smaller?

Rowtag took a cautious step forward, and gently touched the black wolf's shoulder. The figure groaned and rolled over. They all were a bit shocked to see that this wolf was female. "That's not Twilight." Yuma said. "That's a girl."

The black female cracked open her eyes and looked up at them "H-help... me." she said. She was shaking violently, and her fur seemed damp, like she'd just gotten out of water.

Tosca reverted back to her leadership role immediately and started barking out orders.

"Rowtag and Una, help me carry her back. Yuma, go see if either Farren or Twilight has gotten back yet"

Una nodded and helped her brother and sister with the stranger while Kai darted nervously back and forth, pausing every now and then to catch her breath.

Yuma dashed for the river. He was surprised and relieved to see Twilight returning with Frida, the medical wolf from Farren's pack. "Thank goodness!" he said. "We need you right away, Doc!"

Twilight and Frida exchanged a concerned glanced and ran with Yuma back to the den, where they found the others waiting outside. "What happened?" the black wolf asked while Frida ran inside.

Tosca glanced up graciously and nodded to the strange, black wolf.

"I don't know where she came from. She collapsed as soon as we saw her and we've been trying to warm her up"

"We thought she was you" Kai giggled nervously, eyes darting between the female and Twilight.

Twilight got closer to get a better view, then nearly jumped back in complete surprise. He saw a near mirror of himself. This young female looked almost exactly like him. From the black fur to the yellow eyes, although the female's eyes were a slightly darker shade of yellow, almost gold colored. "Where... did she come from, again?" he asked in an uncharacteristically shaky voice.

Tosca raised a brow, amused at Twilight's unexpected reaction. "We don't know... she just kinda stumbled into the territory. She was soaked... maybe she swam across a river or something?"

Tosca studied the female for a second before giving the inky wolf a side-long glance. "Uh... who was the lucky girl?"

Twilight scowled at her. "If you're implying that this is my child, you're wrong." he said. "There was no 'lucky girl.' There has never been one." He turned his gaze back to the black female. She still had not seen him yet, as Frida was speaking with her. After a few minutes she came over. "Her name is Dusk. She fell in the river and got a little cold. Poor thing is half starved to death." The tan she-wolf stepped outside before turning back. "I'm going to check on Kia real quick. I'll be right back." she said.
