A small grin began to form on Katya's face, though it was a bit hesitant at first. Finally, it grew stronger, helped by a chunk of the large, delicious ham. "How did you get in and get all of this out?" she asked after a moment, licking her lips to rid them of any traces of fat or juices.

Chase answered as he grabbed a sausage from its link. After he finished chewing, he went on to say, "Well, it takes skill." He grinned. "Just kiddin', anyone can do it." He paused. "But it does take practice. Ya need to get in the second the butcher leaves, slide through the door grab a bag, stuff all ya can into it, and high tail it out of there." His grin still remained as he grabbed another sausage.

Katya nodded slowly. "I'll remember that," she said, cocking her head while her grin became slightly crooked and joking. It faded once again as a familiar, almost terrifying scent filled the air. Humans...a dogcatcher most likely. "Chase, its the dogcatcher! We gotta run!" The dalmatian stood hurriedly, tensing with apprehension.

Chase acted as if nothing was wrong. "A dog catcher? Wha-" his expression suddenly turned dead serious as he sniffed the air. His head snapped back and he saw a tall, dark figure with a net. Chase backed up slowly, fear taking over his heart, which by now was pounding. He didn't know where to run, and it scared him that he might not get a chance to.

"Run that way!" Katya yelped, dodging the net as it swung down, trying to capture her. Now her heart was pounding as fat as Chase's, even though her fear wasn't as strong as his. She gestured in the direction she wanted him to run, taking a few steps herself, unwilling to leave her new friend behind.

Chase was frozen with fear, unable to move. A net came down on him and when it did, that's when something snapped. Something told him to listen to Katya and run the way she told him to. He growed and bit the net, throwing it upside down with the human going for the ride as well. As the human tumbled to the ground, buying the two strays a few more minutes to run, Chase sprinted after Katya, not wanting to be away from her side for fear they may get seperated and caught.

"Hurry!" Katya barked, fear evident in her voice. She was slightly ahead of Chase, her long legs gave her an advantage. The dogcatcher was getting up though, and into his truck. "He's getting in the truck!" she yelped, panic growing.

Chase yelped as a dart narrowly missed him. "The truck?? We don't even have a chance now!" Chase's heart began to beat faster and faster now and by this point you could almost see if pounding out of his chest as he tried desperately to increase his speed. Even when he finally managed to match Katya's speed and run at her side, he was still dreading their capture. "What do we do?" he asked, fear and panic evident in his voice.

"I don't know!" Katya yelled, her voice now shaking, along with her body. "Just run!" There was no way out of this, as far as she could tell...not even she could outrun a truck! She felt the net's mesh close around her, and yelped, twisting her body in a vain effort to get free.

Chase suddenly saw Katya go down and he stopped, wanting to help her. This was a useless effort though, as he got caught too. The net suddenly went over him and he yelped in surprise. He turned and moved around the net a lot. He had never been captured before. He was one of the few that knew his way around well enough never to get caught. But now, suddenly, the world's reality was taking a hold of him once more. His memories all flooded back to him at this very moment, and it was painful both inside and out. He could almost feel his tail being burned once more, he could almost feel it.

Katya was soon in the back of the truck, trembling and huddled against the wall. This was a bit too much for the gentle, sweet Dalmatian, and having a grizzled, heavy Rottwieler glaring at her didn't help at all.

OOC: lol I'm going out on a bit of a limb here cause I kinda forgot about how this whole RP went. I refreshed my mind a bit reading the first few posts, so here goes....

Chase yelped when he was tossed into the animal control truck. When the rottweiler kept gazing back and forth at his new friend, he growled. "Keep looking at her like that and I'll bite your face in, mutt."

The rotteweiler merely scoffed at his attempt. "You think you can scare me? And who's really the mutt, here? I'm a purebred. You're a..." He gave a bit of a quizzical look. "A what?"

Chase thought a few minutes about his remark, trying to think of a comeback. Once he finally got one, he answered. "See, that just shows how much of an idiot you are." He smiled smugly.

The rottweiler barked in protest.

Katya sidled closer to Chase, looking longingly at the door. As the rottweiler looked at her in that way again, she managed a growl, even if it was small. "Ignore him and I'll bite you myself. Trust me, you don't want that." Her voice became a bit more threatening each word, and by the end, she sounded downright menacing.

Chase wasn't sure if Katya was talking to him or the rottweiler, but he decided it was the other dog, so he kept on. "How in the heck are you a purebred anyway?" He asked skeptically. Why would a purebred be in the hands of animal control?

The rottweiler seemed a bit nervous from Katya's threatening words, but quickly recovered. He held his head proudly as he said, "Born and raised to be a fighter." He held it lower now. "...but I became the victim in the end."

Chase rolled his eyes behind the dog's back, but said. "Okay. And you want me to feel sympathy for you?"

The rottie said nothing, but looked as if he was pained.

Chase laughed sarcastically. "I'm sure what you went through was nothing. At least at the pound they'll adopt you in two seconds flat because you're 'purebred'." He managed to refrain from trembling at the word 'pound'. "Us? We'll have better luck scraping a million garbage cans clean of their trash." He gave a serious expression that meant business. "You're not the only one who's had a rough life. So don't act like it." He growled.

Katya wasn't a mutt, but she didn't point out that fact. She hated the thought of being seperated from Chase. Though she had only known him for a short period of time, he was the only friendly face she had encountered since....well, what felt like forever.
