A friend of mine is the general manager of a movie theater. He's going to get me in for a private pre-screening when he gets the unlock codes. For the last few days I've been marathoning the first 7 movies in order. I'm ready for the last one now.

I'm really eager to see Part 2 in theatres (though I might skip on the 3D version). As those who have read the books know, the finale is purely epic. and I can't wait to see it on the big screen. It's exciting, but sad in a way too. This will be the last Harry Potter film... forever. I think it's safe to say that I won't be the only one who will feel bittersweet over the ending.

While I did not get to see this at midnight (/shame), I did see it opening day! So. Epic. Cried, laughed, cheered, and cried some more. Without comparing it to the book it was just perfect. The music was fantastic as was the acting! Especially Alan Rickman (Snape). It was a wonderful end to a fantastic series. I just can't believe it's over. Mischief Managed! ? ? ? --- And from the 'rate the movie' topic: (Which I gave 10/10)

Neville. Is. Awesome! I was so glad they kept his moments to shine in the movie. Even if you've only watched the movies, there's no way you can ignore how Neville's character has grown. <3 You kill that snake, boy! I do wish they'd kept his line "I'll join you when Hell freezes over." [pg. 731] Though some of his new spunk was shown elsewhere. :]
Snape was just, omg. Alan Rickman is such an amazing actor. Through the whole series he's just been right on with how I always imagined Snape. And when he died, I cried like a bloody baby. Even though I knew it was coming. I just wish they'd added a little more of Snape's backstory! At least they kept the part when - right before he died - he asked Harry to look at him so he could see Lily's eyes one last time. Those that never read the books (SHAME ON YOU!) missed out a lot of why Snape hated James so much, too. But as a whole the memories were amazing. You could really see how much Snape loved Lily. Was pretty sad.
I wish there'd been more of Tonks and Lupin. I love their characters and it was just kinda sad how little screen time they got. And they only once mentioned their son. Only people that have read the books will know his name is Teddy and he has blue hair! :[ But I guess at least it was thrown in there.
Loved how Ron and Hermione's relationship finally blossomed. <3 I kind of wish it'd been how it happened in the book (I believe it came from Ron stating they had to get the house elves out?), but this was really cute, too. And the part where Ron ran after Malfoy in the Room of Requirement was just wicked funny. Plus, it was just about dang time!
The big battle at Hogwarts was awesome, too! I think the only thing I didn't like was how Percy just kinda came out of no where. In the book it was known he was kind of estranged from his family. So when he came to help fight for Hogwarts and for Harry... that was a big deal! Professor McGonagall was awesome, as was Mrs. Weasley. The part in the book where Harry taunts Voldemort would have been nice to see, especially the part where he threw the fact that the person Voldemort trusted so much was working against him the whole time.
Why did Harry break the Elder Wand without fixing his first?! I always considered Harry's wand pretty substantial - especially the fact that it pretty much saved him a number of times. I didn't mind to much that the end of the battle didn't finish like in the book but I wish they'd had Harry fix his wand. :[
All in all, I can't say anything bad about the movie. Sure, there were things I wish had been left in, but it was fantastic. The end of such a wonderful series. <3

And I'm so glad they used Daniel, Rupert and Emma [along with the others] during the 19 years later and just made them look older instead of having other people play them. I'm so awesome that alone just made me tear up, XDD Same reason here that i cried. it was the only time i cried in a movie.

On a related note, part 1 & 2 of The Deathly Hallows were scored by Alexandre Desplat; the same guy who scored The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I am now a lifetime fan of Mr. Desplat.
