Ah~ Finally able to upload my entry~
Name: Riina (A Finnish/Estonian/Greek name meaning ‘pure’)
Number: 1
Siblings: Red Robin (© Sardonyx) and ??? (© ???)
Gender: Female
Parents: Benson & Vita ( both © Sardonyx)
Personality: Riina is pretty hyper, due to her Border Collie side. She is very intellectual, and she pretty much only uses it when she needs to or when she needs to get out of trouble. She loves to have fun, and Riina likes to lighten the mood. She’s very simplistic, and Riina is very honest. Though she is all of that, she is weak. Her anemia keeps her from being too out-going. She’s stubborn when she needs to, and Riina is often quiet. She is very ‘pure’ in a sense because she always tries to do everything right, unless she really wants to do something. She’s afraid of messing up and dying.
History: Riina was born to Vita and Benson. A few days after being born, Benson left and moved to another place. Riina was a week old and was diagnosed with anemia, and her mother became protective over her. Even though she had anemia, it really didn’t feel like she had it. Riina just felt weak in her body, but she felt just the same. After a few weeks, Riina wanted to go out and explore with her siblings, but her mother wouldn’t allow her to go. Riina became a bit angry at this, but she obeyed her mother. After a month, Riina was adopted by a young (in their teens) couple, and they adopted her as their ‘child’ (because the woman didn’t want to get preggerz. owo ). The girl was very happy to have Riina as a dog, and that is where she got her name ‘Riina’. In this family, she was allowed to go in and outside of the small town as she pleased. Riina often visited her mother, since she was the only one who knew where her siblings were. Vita would often ask Riina to stay with her, but she had to go home to her family. After a few more months, Jonathan and Katie (the couple/her owners) decided to move back to Finland, where they used to live. Luckily, their house wasn’t sold yet, and they got their home back. Before they left on the airplane, Riina was able to go see her mother and siblings for awhile. She saw Vita first, and Riina broke down crying in front of her mom. She apologized for everything she had done wrong in her life with her mother and said her ‘good-bye’ to Vita. Riina explained what happened to Vita, and her mother understood. Riina saw her two siblings and said her ‘good-bye’s to them. When she went home, Katie took Riina to the airport, and the family flew to Finland. Their home was near the border of Finland and Russia. They live there in peace, but they only live in peace for awhile. During the years of 1934 (they moved to Finland that year) – /near the end of/ 1938, Katie and Jonathan got married, adopted a young pup, who they named Fritz, and got a home with more land. Riina enjoyed her life, but she had been watching the news with her owners about some country named ‘Russia’ threatening to attack Finland. She growled a bit, but Riina didn’t believe the report. Later through 1939, Russia did attack Finland. Riina was ready to fight to the death to protect her family, and she attacked any man that looked different from any man she had ever seen before that came into her home. Riina bravely fought off the USSR in her own home, but she tired quickly and was brought down. Katie, worried for her dog, begged for mercy of the USSR men. They would let Riina go and let their family live if they agreed to let them occupy their house. Katie agreed as long as they wouldn’t harm any of the family members that lived in the house, and the men agreed. The family decided to keep away from the Soviets unless needed, but Riina couldn’t help but be curious about them. Of course, those who had watched their comrades get injured by Riina were a bit nervous of her coming close to them, but she never showed any sign of aggression to them. After a few months of some of the men living there, she began to treat them like if they were a part of the family, and she would often bring the German pup, Korbinian (meaning ‘little crow or little raven’ in German(called Fritz by owners (Yes, the pup they adopted))), with her (though against his will). Fritz and Riina were close as friends, and they would do almost everything together. Most of the local dogs in town saw them as a couple, though Riina sees Fritz as just a friend (though Fritz has a crush on her). One of the Soviet men, Alik, had a dog with him they had trained as an army dog. The dog was called Aleksei (‘defender’ in Russian), and he usually liked to flaunt his greatness by flirting with Riina and tormenting both Riina and Fritz. Riina and Fritz both hated Aleksei, but Riina started to take in interest in the dog. Riina would usually approach the Soviet dog when he wasn’t in his tormenting mood, but she would always take Fritz with her. One day, she looked for the males, but she couldn’t find them around the house. Riina went outside, but immediately hid behind a small crate and watched two dogs fight for something. She spotted Fritz and later Aleksei, and they seemed to be just battling each other. Aleksei wasn’t intent on hurting Fritz, but to ask him a question about Riina. He asked Fritz if he liked the female, and he admitted his feelings for her. Satisfied, Aleksei left Fritz, but he didn’t notice that Riina was watching them until he went inside and saw Riina comforting Fritz. She comforted Fritz, and she accepted his feelings for her. Riina then started to treat Fritz like more than a friend, but Aleksei would always try to get between them. The Soviet dog eventually admitted that he had feelings for Riina. Riina became distressed, she liked both Fritz and Aleksei the same way, but she didn’t want to hurt them. She didn’t know what to do, but she decided to have a contest. Whoever could woo her the most is who she would choose, and Fritz seemed to be the one. Riina couldn’t help it anymore, and she became mates with Fritz. Aleksei, full of jealousy and anger, forced himself on Riina when the two were alone. After being violated, Riina went running back to Fritz. Luckily, a few days later, the Soviet men left the house after being called back to Russia, therefore meant that Aleksei would no longer be there. Though Riina carried the monsters pups, she decided to live with it and make the best out of it.
Relationship with Vita: Riina and Vita have a pretty good relationship, but Riina and Vita often get into fights. Riina hates how Vita can speak Russian and often combats Vita’s Russian with her Finnish/Estonian/Swedish. Vita is extremely protective over Riina just because of her problem (but she is protective over Riina, but if she didn’t have anemia, her mother probably wouldn’t be so over-protective over her), and Vita is afraid of losing Riina. Riina just shrugs her anemia off as a setback, and she wants to explore. She hates how her mother has the last word on everything, and Riina just wants her mother to just stop worrying so much for her. After Riina leaves for Finland, she is both happy and sad that she has to leave her mother, but before she leaves, she apologizes for everything she did wrong and tells her mom that Riina loves her.
*added*Feelings about Benson: Riina thinks that her father left her mom and her siblings for another dog, but Vita tells her that he didn’t. Riina likes to think that her father was a nice dog, and that he would have gladly stayed with his family if he didn’t move. After that, Riina became very bitter to the subject of her father.
What you plan to use the character for: Art and renders, and maybe a short story (unless I like it and decided to expand it); I also wanted to develop some characters with her.
Other: Her owners are Finnish and Estonian. She takes after her grandmother (Vienna’s) build; and she can speak Finnish, Estonian, Swedish, and (broken) English. Riina also has anemia, and she often finds it a setback in what she wants to do. She has a slim build because of her anemia, but her anemia rarely comes to her. It is as if she has it, but it seems like she doesn’t have anemia.
