It's so powerful... and amazing... they should make it into a film.
My favourite character was always Bran. The Sikla of the pack and yet with a great personality. I got the book for christmas having loaned it out at the library before. It took me about 5 months to read! I too have thought that a film would be a spectacular idea... as long as Davies has a say in it.
Luckily, it is required for them to get permission from the author before they make a movie out of the book.

Yeah. They would never beable to do a good job with animation. They could do the wolves like how they did them in Narnia! Then they'll look real.

I finished reading it last week. I swear, it is one of the saddest, but also the most inspiring book I have ever read! I even marked the pages at the end which describes Fell's vision and the vision Kar gets in his dream. They are the two most hope-inspiring parts in that book.
Agout the movie, I was also thinking about Narnia-like animation for them at certain times, but also real wolves at other times.
One last thought: I thought that, while reading the book, Larka was kind of like a second Sita (Read my post on The Sight for more info on her). She died for what was right, to not control the Lera, simply because of seeing a grim future of the human race, and leave them to be free like they should be.

Yes, but computer graphics will make it so the wolves won't truly even touch... the puppets will do that part and the graphics will make it look more realistic. No harm done! (I had to research the makings of films, so I think I will end up writing a big post about it)

Railwolf wrote: yah,m they can do a lot of cool stuff with CGI these days (Poler Express, Posideon) The big fear i have is the artistic lisence. In which the movie will cut out parts of the book, or do something that will change the plot line there have been movies that have done that, Perfic example is Rasie the Titanic, That was a cool book, but the movie had so meney plot holes in it you could play golf on it! Thats why I don't want a Sight movie.

I read The Sight, but some parts freaked me out, like when Larka visits the dead. *shudder* That was awhile ago, so I hope to read it again. I do remember besides being creepy it was a great novel. My favorite character was Kar.
By the way, how does everyone get those quotes at the bottom of their posts? You know, like quotes from Balto or whatever. I can't figure out how to get one of my own messages down there! Can someone please help me?

**Beware this post contains a spoiler or two if you haven't finished the book**
LOL I actually started the production of a film for "The Sight" the rights aren't actually owned by Davies it's owned by the Penguin Books publisher. My only problem was obtaining the rights. I wasn't really in the mood to start my own company officialy with the IRS and such so I decided to put it off. We were really getting some great support and all but I couldn't find the help I needed on the animation and finance side. Was actually going to make it like the narnia animation like you all had mentioned. That was a hot topic for a while. But like I said the production has stopped for now atleast. I would love to finish it one day and trust me it is my favorite book ever. I actually just purchased my third copy of it. This time it's a hardback, WOHO! Got it in today actually. I would never cut a scene out of the book if I finish this movie. I can't see any of the scenes Davies put in the book, not in the film. It takes too much of the life out of the movie.
But yes by far my favorite book of all time. I do want to read Firebringer but haven't brought myself to read it. I own his newest book "The Telling Pool" it's not the seeing pull or whatever somebody mentioned earlier. And Davies is in the process of writting a second "The Sight"... It's supposed to follow Fell after he leaves the pack in the end of the first book. I can't wait for that to come out.. I'll pre-order that one

I just reserved 'The Sight' at the library so I can read it again! I've also read 'Firebringer' but I liked 'The Sight' better. Maybe because I like wolves better than deer, and I didn't like thinking about Sgorr eating a child's heart. But, David Clement-Davies is one of my favorite authors. A second 'The Sight' should be interesting!
