Jamie thought for a moment then once again spoke. "How about we take the egg back to your house and find somewhere to hide it until it hatches?" He suggested, thinking it was better for her to take it with them than leave it here. He stared down at the smooth blue spot peeking out through the rough dark grey shell. "And who knows, we may have just found something very rare." He added, still staring down at the turquoise spot.

Jamie thought for a moment then smiled at his friend. "Sure Mary, I will be able to stay until seven thirty but after that you may be on your own unless our mums say otherwise." He said. He was eager to help if it did hatch that night, and was rather curious as to what was inside the egg.
