If there are too many of them, they'll kill too many other animals, and might start starving or eating each other from lack of prey. It's not cuz Alaska hates them, it's because there is too many of them. There are more animals that are endangered, I know this might be hard since there is so many people that love wolves, but it's got to happen. Just like that there is too many humans *IN MY OPINION* it'll be bad for the whole area they are in.

Like sharks for example. They're stereotyped sooo much worse than wolves are, when they're really very misunderstood. They're snatched from their homes to have their limbs sawed off, before being thrown back into the water to die slowly and agonizingly. All for Fin Soup. Yes, soup. Don't get me started on bear bile and tiger wine...
Don't get me wrong, I love wolves. But I agree with UK. No one seems to care about other animals much anymore - it's all about wolves. When they have it pretty easy compared to a LOT of animals. And again, like UK said... pest/population control must happen.
I agree with everything you've said. Tones of people seem to think that wolves are so endangered, when infact, they're not even on the official Endangered Species List (or so I was told.) As you say, sharks are probably one of the most misunderstood mammals I can name. Although this will probably sound rather stupid, imagine how you'd feel if something that looked like food to you came in your home and started surfing or something. It's not like they 'kill for fun.' People seem to think they are just evil and want to kill everyone, when they simply mistake us for their prey. People also seem to forget about the other millions of animals too. What about tigers? They're beautiful animals and so, so endangered, yet I never here anyone sobbing over the fact that they are dying out and posting tones and tones of articals about them. Think about the animals here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/wildlife/6927330/Top-10-most-endangered-species-in-the-world.html They really need help for us humans. Not wolves. Sharks are fish, not mammals. And technically, we ARE their prey. If we're stupid enough to go near them where we can be hunted. But everything you said was right. Wolves aren't endangered, and yet so many other animals are. And they're just as - if not more - important than wolves.

There are even wolves and other canids far more endangered than the Grey Wolf but most people don't seem to care or even know about them. For example, the Ethiopian wolf & the African Wild Dog.
& there are so many felines that are endangered and even critically endangered. And that's only sticking to the 2 most popular groups of animals on AS.

Exactly, wolves don't need to be saved any more. Other animals are dropping dead and no one cares because they don't need like 7 other of their kind to take down 1 prey.

I'm going to sound like a smarty pants and jerk, forgive me.
EVERYONE has to remember that AS was founded on Balto and The Lion King. Of course the members here will care more about Canids and Felines.
I am only 15. At 12 or 13, I decided to make wolves my passion, my career. I have done extensive internet research for about 3 years. i know it doesn't really seem like a lot but i feel as if it is. So, I am a biased party in an argument like this;
By the way, something just occured to me- most people are biased. Alot of people here are so biased they are at the extreme parallels of thought. I AM BIASED. I love wolves more than anything, and I can't help but think 'dirty humans, killing off beautiful wolves'. I cannot help it! I am a biased party, too attatched to the situation to look at anything from an intellectual view. So, I feel as if this is the main area of communication error, or future commmunication error.
Although wolves are no longer endangered, and although it is a good idea to relocate, it's true relocating certain numbers in certain areas is going to be bad. This is why I commend Mission: Wolf sanctuary in Montana. They use wolves as Ambassadors in schools, telling the students the fact from the fiction. A group like this could plead to city officials, and could erase some tension. This could make a relocation attempt work. Although, I think of coyotes as more pests... I mean, you hear it a lot. Coyotes stealing pets and small children from backyards. What about the Polar Bears that migrate to find food? Are they pests too? Or are our human civilizations roach hotels to them?
Perspective.(Am I just integrating into thought willy nilly? Sorry)
Basically saying if you're going to call wolves pests, you may as well call moose, and deer, and bears pests, too.
I'll Be Back.

I'll Be Back. I've said it before and I'll say it again; Crusading for wolves at all costs =/= wolf conservation. I know where you're coming from with the part where you mentioned wolves being your passion - I am exactly the same. Wolves are my passion as well. I'm already working towards actually working with them. I've met Shaun Ellis, one of the leading people in current wolf conservation efforts. I've read up on wolves and other canids on the internet and in books. I'm saving to take several courses on wolves. I'm getting help to get into animal jobs which will work me into working with wolves. Even so; I am capable of looking at the entire situation objectively. Simply joining in with the "omfg hunters r so mean they shuld all b killed!!11!!" is not going to help. Farmers in the US are more in need of help. They don't know how to deal with it other than shooting the wolves - the wolves are killing their cattle; their livelihood. They lose their cattle - they lose their homes. People giving them trouble for shooting the wolves doesn't help. What would help is teaching them how to keep their herds safe. In a lot of places wolves haven't lived in those areas for years; now they're back and the people aren't used to them and how to deal with them. The MOST annoying aspect is people having a go at hunters for doing something LEGAL. If you want to be against something actually ILLEGAL then do so against the poachers who are killing wolves who actually are protected in Europe. Wolves in America and Canada are doing fine - European wolves are not. /ended here for now because my computer fails and is lagging. =.=;

I believe bile is some sort of digestive acid. And i know the Chinese use to use Tiger bones in medicine.

This outright murder of wolves needs to end

Ahura Werewolf wrote: This outright murder of wolves needs to end It's not 'murder'. Murder is illegally killing other human beings on purpose. it's merely population control, as wolves are overpopulating in Alaska and need to have their numbers lowered.

I wouldn't know what's cheaper. But why don't they spay and neuter some of the animals? Not ALL but some of them to help tone down the killing.

Donations never sounded so good right about now then. But then again, that's how life is, EVERYTHING costs too much -_- But in this case, it would be worth it, instead of wasting of money for things we don't need. I'm sure conversationalists, scientists and so forth could come to an agreement.
