((Erm....what happened to me?))
Luna's soft, orange, bronze, and cream pelt absorbed the sun, trasnferring it to her limbs, making her feel dozy and content. She closed her brown eyes half way, savoring the warm moment. A sigh of pleasure escaped her, a sigh that was interrupted by a harsh pain that spread from her hind paw and to the rest of her leg. She yelped, immediatly tensing and jolting up. Her surprised brown eyes saw her owner, looking apologetic.
"Sorry, girl," he muttered, moving his heavy boot off her now sore paw. He rubbed her head, his leather glove feeling surprisingly pleasant against her scalp. She licked the skin of his wrist that poked through, briefly unprotected by the glove or sleeve. He smiled at the shiba inu.
"That's my girl," he said, his voice soft and praising. Her curled tail wagged. He rubbed her pointed ear, then tromped off through the snow. She watched him go, then twisted, examining her paw. It looked fine, although a dull throb still persisted. Her tongue rasped against it in an attempt to dull the pain that aggravated her.
Juno's black and brown paws were wet and cold with snow, but he ignored the small discomfort, focusing instead on the sun warming his back and face. It may be cold, but the sun makes up for it, he thought, a small, pleased grin crossing his face. Almost instinctively, he veered towards Luna's house, where hopefully he would find her. His small grin widened as an image of her filled his mind. Long had he loved her, yet long had he been to shy to say anything. His grin faded as he thought of all the oppurtunities he had to say something, and he made a small promise to say something to her when he saw her.
Luna heard the crisp sound of paws padding through the snow, and turned to see a familiar german sheperd padding towards her, a look on his face that told her he was lost in thought. "Hello, Juno," she called out to him, the cool morning air carrying her voice.
Juno flicked his ears as Luna's voice reached them. "Hey!" he called out, grin returning. He increased the speed he was walking, and soon reached her. His tail thumped against the wood of the porch railing, and his grin turned slightly sheepish at the noise. "Sorry," he said, forcing his tail to stop.
Luna laughed. "It's fine," she said. "Do you want to come inside?" she asked. She had noticed the ice and snow coating his paws, and realized that they must be cold. She was glad of the small dog door that her owner had installed previously.
"Sure," Juno accepted. The two walked inside, the german sheperd following Luna. His ice-encrusted paws practically steamed in the warm air of the small, cozy house. "Ahh," he sighed, happy.
