Like a character with real input in it, meaning it's not something that their owner slopped together, really long and detailed, for the advanced.

I think some rules should be relaxed, however sparkledogs should still be banned.

I won't hide that there is a lot of work involved, so don't expect it to be done right now. (interface changes for every section : displaying and sending, new "search engines", new interfaces for admins, rules changes, etc...)

Keep going with the categories suggestions. If you can see more categories that weren't listed, tell us. This will be very important to have the most suitable categories.

EDIT : For fanarts and images, we can also add :

- Static (still image)
- Animated

I'd offer more image category ideas, but this seems to have it pretty well covered already. And I like the static/animated idea. Good for those with slower servers and such.

Very good ideas from steet here. At least these proposed fan character changes will make it a lesser workload on mods.

Or just if you want to search for animations only.

Other might-be-interesting categories :
- Includes a drawn background (yes/no) (yes, I kinda like when there are backgrounds in fanarts)

That will be a lot to ask to the visitors for each drawing, but I'll make sure to make an interface to choose categories easily.

Yes, allowing sparkledogs would encourage people to post only sparkledogs, and cause people to think this was 'Sparkledog Source' not Balto Source. I think Characters should have a relation to Balto.

Not if a particular setting were necessary in order to see sparkledog pictures.

To be honest, I've never had many problems for the fanart/fanimage sections. In the fan characters section, only with my fursona Hunter, which I fixed, and actually I personally think she looks better that way (her fur was a neon kind of yellow so they made me change it to a more natural color). The categories would be a great idea though! I say go for it! It would solve a lot of problems for people who like to rant about certain things. That way they can filter it out if they don't like it. Just one question though. What's the difference between fan characters and original characters?

Why not just simplify the rules so everyone can better understand them? We do have too many rules. Some of them seem rushed to patch up a potential problem but it makes even more of a problem.

And communication! I think it'd be really cool if members could have a bit more input on how to fix and improve certain aspects in the future. If members feel they have a bit more of a say and stuff, they'll generally be happier.

From who?
- My own and entire creation
- Traced / Based on a screenshot
- Based on someone else's lineart / artwork, with permission

The "what can we see" section does seem a bit pointless tho We could have background/no background maybe? Not sure where that would go tho.
