Lux, i change Ixxie from my fursona because i was nolonger happy with her but thank youm, also i think you stated something about not arguing with a mods dession (sorry not spelled right) however if their is a flaw in it or it does not go along with, the facts of what has and has not be activated and deactivated i feel you can, not rudely of course, but i feel you can argue your case.
Good lord, where have I been? =o
Slow response is slow.
Even though you feel you can argue with the moderators who made a decision on your account/submitted content/posts, that is still not the right way to go about and will most likely lead to such high levels of frustration on your end so that you do something that ends you up in the banned box. We've seen this time and time again (even other members watching drama in the shoutboxes); members argue with the moderators & let their anger get the best of them and usually end up warned and banned for having done something entirely unrelated to their case (such as flaming the mods or other members, knowingly involving innocent members into the discussion, throwing rude/inappropriate remarks here and there, yelling "omg I'm leaving this site it sux blah blah" only to come back a day later (though this usually won't result in warnings or bans, it makes them look ridiculous), etc. etc.).
That is why we no longer discuss moderation issues with the members affected in public (provided that it's not an issue affecting ALL of them) and that is why
the members must contact the lead mod of the relevant section (only contact the site admin if you want to argue a lead mod's decision) if they want to dispute the judgement of a staff member.
The system works like this to make it a less painful experience for the members to alter a decision they feel is unfair to them. Remember that the lead moderators are not only chosen for their expertise in their fields, but also for their ability to remain impartial in their judgement. And if you still feel that the lead moderators aren't impartial, you can forward the site admin (for BS/AS: Togo) AFTER you tried the lead mods.
I would agree it's not the simplest way to go around, but it's the most pleasant one for both parties (not to mention you are much more likely to "win the case" as one might say).
Members can, however, still argue with the moderator they disagree with, BUT they shouldn't expect (expectations sometimes leads to disappointment) that moderator to change his/her decisions. But if they're not arguing like rabid monsters, there's also a very good chance that the mod might just agree with your point of view and undo what s/he did.
Do note, however, that if you get a "Take it to the lead mod" or something similar from that moderator, then that should be considered a final "I'm 100% sure that I'm right and nothing you can say will change my mind, sorry" and do exactly that - contact a lead mod. Which is why we still very much encourage members to simply contact the "top dogs" of the staff right away rather than setting themselves up for disappointment or upsetting people by raging at everything and everyone.
In response to all the other posts:
Please have a bit more patience with us. We realize we've asked you to be patient before and there's been little to no change, but we have to ask once more.
Most of today's issues are caused by lack of communication, but rest assured that we are working on it. However, having a relatively large number of staff members (to put it mildly) who all have different opinions about moderator communication (and the webmaster, Steet, who apparently doesn't see the need for an easy way of talking to the mods of all AS websites other than a semi-stable & laggy free forum - a global moderator shoutbox, maybe?) means that such a change will take time. In fact, it will take a fair bit of time.
We'll also see if we can keep you updated on the progress as we go.
