-Hilop heard a yelp as the sounds went farther and farther. he stoped running, panting as the water driped down his muzzle. he winced, looking at his hind leg to see the bite mark that the pack gave him before her ran, it was bleeding. The blood mixing with the rain. he turned his head again and started to limp, searching for a den to sleep in for the night-

Sabyr's amber eyes opened slightly, and she shook off the daze that follows sleep. A rythmic drumming sound had roused her, and she stretched, shaking her mainly gray pelt as she looked around. Immediatly, she spotted the rain. Although most wolves hated storms, or rain, she loved them. It was a unique characteristic of her's. She sniffed the air, the forest scents fresher now that the rain had loosened the soil some. SHe yawned, then stepped outside, smiling slightly as a raindrop hit her nose.

Brokefang had distracted the pack, but now was left with another problem-how to escape the pack himself. He darted through the trees and looked around him for something he could use. Another stick or something he could use to give him the edge on being outnumbered. Finally he spotted it: A cave that lead into a series of tunnels. He had explored there and knew his way around the maze inside. He darted in, the pack following. A few quick turns and then hiding behind an outcropping let Brokefang backtrack out of the caverns and evade the pack. After catching his breath and sniffing around for a bit, he began to search for the wolf he had helped.

Hilop panted hevily, finding a den as he entered. He sniffed around for a spot and found one, laying down. He started to lick his wound, but winced when his toung reached it. He decided not to clean it. he layed his head down. " Who helped me?" he asked in his head.

Rain began to fall harder, and a small laugh escaping her, she rushed out to embrace the cool drops. Her amber eyes were exhilerated, along with each step. THe wet grass felt cool against her paws.

Sylvie crept through the long stalks of grass and bushes and raised her head to sniff the air, narrowing her eyes against the rain. Sylvie walked out of the stalks, shaking the rain off of her silver and white fur, and padded under the trees. She noticed an abandoned den ahead of her. Sylvie instantly crawled through the entrance. Shaking her fur again, Sylvie looked around for a spot to lay down, and curled into a ball, covering her eyes with her tail.

The thought on who tried to save him flooded his head. It was too much for him right now. He was too tired. He sighed, curling up and falling asleep slowly to the rain. He later started dreaming about his past. On how his pack loved him when his parents were there, untill they died. Then the pack started to treat him like garbage. That's why he tried to raise to the top, only to become chased out. He hated his life.

Brokefang found his way back to the cave he had adopted as a home. Inside he found the wolf he had helped. Brokefang sniffed the sleeping wolf quietly before sitting in front of him, still dripping wet from the pouring rain outside. 'Where did he come from? Why was he exiled? Who is he?' These thoughts raced through the wet wolf's mind as he looked curiously at the wolf he had helped.

Feeling restless, Sylvie padded out of the den after she had fulfilled her rest need. Sylvie sat down in the grass gently, allowing the rain to soak her fur.

-hilop mummbled a bit in his sleep, rolling to his side, showing his blood stained leg- no- he said in his sleep as he rolled over again. not enjoying the dream-

'Perhaps I should wake him.' Brokefang thought as he stared at the wounded wolf. He sniffed the leg wound and thought a little bit. He wondered if he should attempt to get help. There was a wolf pack close by that he knew of, but the wolves that he had lost in the woods smelled too familiar to risk it. "Well, I'm not too keen on licking a stranger's wounds so I hope you wake soon." He said softly.

Sabyr closed her eyes, looking at peace. Suddenly she stiffened, smelling the scent of someone else. Cautiously, she padded forward until the canine was in view. Her ears were pricked warily as she wondered whether she was hostile or friendly.
