Felidae smiled at her close friend and brother "Why don't be go bother the birds again? I've heard Koku's great grandfather Zazu didn't die, maybe we could pay them a visit." Zazu was a very well known bird, and his whole family all shared the same job but for different prides. Kozu worked for the Graveyard Pride, while his sweet peach colored sister worked for the Pridelanders, the two were always passing gossip about the lions which was always interesting to hear.

Taja smiled and ran forward "Yes! I want to know how the prince and princess are doing lately, they always have something going on it seems." Taja and his sister had grown up hearing the stories about the Pridelands, and how sweet and gentle they were to eachother. Yes of course the Graveyard pride was sweet and gentle with eachother but a fight roke out daily and the rules were sometimes too harsh. "Oh brother, you are a prince and I am a princess, our lives are no more exciting than theirs." Felidae chuckled a little as they headed off towards the tree.

Sayli ran with Felidae and Taja to go bother the birds again. Its so fun to bother them. As they were running Sayli was thinking "The pridelander's life are probably less exciting."

Felidae smiled as they made it to the bird's tree "Hey guys!" Dazzle flew down and perched on the lowest branch, leaning froward to see Felidae closer. "Any gossip today Dazzle?" Before the bird could reply Bahti leaped towards her, jaws open wide. "Bahti no! What did I tell you about this?" Felidae rolled her eyes as Bahti sighed and repeatedher words she had told her almost everyday "Birds are friend, not food. I know, I was just playing!" Dazzle laughed "Playing my tail-feather, if she wan't here-" Dazzle stopped herself before getting into any amount of trouble with the bat-eared fox. Taja laughed as he sat down next to Sayli, his ail slightly brushing hers. "Okay, like I was saying. The council is a little worried about who the prince will make his princess, and I have been scouting for lionesses for awhile now, but he doesn't seem to like any of them!" The blue and pink bird sighed dramticly, her wings sagging a little. Felidae had never met the prince, but had always thought about how he must look.

(Free_Wolf I already sent the basics in PM, but I'll tell you again.-Felidae woke up and the healer told her that she had been 'chosen', being upset Felidae spoke out and her father got angry with her. He took her into the den and shut the entrance where he beat her. When Felidae was let out she ran off with her brother Taja and her best friend Sayli who likes Taja. The three walked over to visit the birds that help out the prides like Zazu does in TLK1 & 2. The female Dazzle is the bird for the Pridelands and she often tells Taja, Sayli, and Felidae gossip from the Pridelands. And Dazzle's brother Kozu is the bird for the Graveyard Pride but he doesn't speak much.)

As Taja sat down next to Sayli she felt his tail touch hers, but did nothing about it just looked forward and watched the bird gossip about the Pridelander's. She wasn't hearing it though. She was thinking about where she would have to go when she left them. To go "home" would be a bad idea. Some of the hunters got into a fight last night, and she didn't want to see the fight that was going to go on tonight. There was always another fight.

Felidae smiled happily at Bahti that was now spiraling around the tree, grabbing bugs out of the branches and handing them to the birds for their food. "Okay so the king and Queen got in a fight yesterday about the hunter patrol didn't catch enough food, the patrol that the King was leading that day!" Taja and Felidae looked half shocked and half worrisome. Why was the King slacking off on his own duties? Was it just this one time had it had happened, or had the King not done his job multiple times before? Felidae shook the thoughts out of her mind as she sood up "Well it was nice seeing you guys again, I'll try to be back tomorrow to see how the King and Queen were doing." Dazzle flew down and hugged each of their necks "Bye guys!" Felidae and Taja ran in unison together down the hill and to their pride where they were instantly greeted by their parents. "Yes mother, father?" Her parents looked at achother and back at her "Tonight Felidae...you must kill the king." Felidae jumped back and roared in anger in her father's face "And what if I don't?" Her mother took a ragged breath in and closed her eyes "Then it will be your life that will have to be taken." Taja jumped infront of his sister and roared "You will never toutch her!Ever!" Cronos lifted his paw but Felidae stepped forward "Okay father, I'll do it." Felidae and Taja walked off and into their den.

After his owner had opened the cage at the camp, he romped and played a while untill the humans packed everything back into the truck. As the last of the gear was loaded, the lion got ready to hop in as well. "No, Tim. Stay." Came the voice of his owner. He sat obediently, watching as she drove away. He was stunned she would just leave him out in the wild. With tears in his eyes, he started walking. Where? He didn't know. Why? To try and find a friend. He headed for a large rock formation he'd seen the day before when the truck had carried him and the humans out here, now he felt it was the closest to home he would ever get again.

Sayli layed in her den as she watched the evening sun set. The fight was going on so she was in the back. With her head laying on her paws she watched she dozed off into a sleep waking up from the nightmares every now and then, but finally got into a deep sleep when it was almost dawn.

As the moon hung at its highest Felidae stalked out, the greedy eyes ofher pride watching her walk through the crowd. Felidae felt disgusting, her spine wanting to curl. "You can't do this Felidae...Its not you." Taja whispered, and he was right but if she didn't do it she would be killed and Taja would have to kill the king.

Felidae was at the edge of the territory when she spotted the tall and strong king taking a stroll, roaring in anger. The Queen and he must've gotten into a fight again. She thought as the King threw a rock at the ground and kicked a tree in anger. Felidae raised her haunches as she got into a hunter's position as if she was hunting a tall giraffe. Felidae closed her eyes and leaped on him, the two rolling around in the sand and grass in battle but in the end Felidae had him pinned. As she looked down at him tears ran down her eyes "I-I-I didn't want to do this! I didn't want to, this isn't me!" She cried, hoping he would understand. He looked at her with surpisngly a gentle look "Then don't. You don't have to, you could run right now." Felidae laughed mockingly at him "Yeah because my father would be just pleased, he would not only kill me but my brother, and I can't let that happen. I'm sorry." Felidae was surprised that he didn't squirm but accepted it almost, but also he didn't belive the gentle looking lioness could kill anyone. As Felidae lunged at his neck his eyes widened with shock but soon turned dull as the life faded from them. Felidae stumbled back "What have I done? I'm a monster, I killed a king to save my own tail...I'm horribale." Felidae ran back home, blood on her mouth and paws to prove she had really killed him. As she returned home day-light had already broke and her whole pride was waiting up from her. When she got there she was welcomed by hugs and applauding but to Felidae it was all a lie, she wasn't the hero they claimed her to be, she was a hidious monster.

Tim smelled other lions in the area as he got closer to the rock formation. Meekly he peeked around a tree and saw them. 'What should I do? I never met REAL lions before. What if they try to hurt me? I've never even been in a fight before.' He thought to himself as she hid behind the tree. He wanted to go up to them and make friends, but he was scared that they wouldn't accept him because he had been tame all his life.

Sayli woke up just as the dawn broke through the sky. She knew something was wrong. She got up immediately and ran to Felida's den when she got near she could hear the faint roar of the pride. She pushed harder her paws hitting the ground she pushed harder every time. She didn't know why, but she had to get there and fast.

Felidae pushed through the crowd once she saw Sayli. A few tears trickled down her cheek as she hugged her friend tightly, shoulders shaking. "I-I did it Sayli...I killed the king." The words came out rough and filled with pain.

A few tears leaked out of Sayli's eyes as her friends words registered in her head. "I'm so sorry" was all she could say. She knew why Felidae had to do it. She couldn't believe she actually did it. She walked away hoping Felidae would follow. Taja probably would to but she didn't care. She wanted to get Felidae away from this right now.
