Apollo 13

I dig the Narnia soundtrack. All Dogs go to Heaven 1 and 2 are also pretty good.

1. Pirates of the Carribbean; Curse of the Black Pearl. (Arguably the BEST motion picture soundtrack of all time. The use of strings and the sea feeling gives it the pirate feeling the movie needs)
2. Balto (Instrumentals are very recognizable and you can replay the movie in your head)
3. Titanic (Not a fan of the movie, but I LOVE the instrumentals in this movie. Like Pirates, it gives a more elegant seaside feeling.)
4. Spirit (You ultimatly feel like you are as wild as the horses with the powerful melodies yet the softer harmonies in the background)
5. The Lion King (Very recognizable, a very African feel. How many times can I say I love this?)
6.1941 (Not too crazy about the other music, but what won me over was the March of 1941. The horn parts and the pep band feel just blew me away.)
7. Pirates of the Carribbean; At World's End (L-O-V-E the electric guitar used in 'Parlay' Again, the use of strings and more modern things just BLEW me away.)
8. Oliver And Company (JAC Redford outdid himself in this album. Not to mention the contributions of Huey Lewis, Ruth Pointer, Bette Midler, and Billy Joel)
9.Pink Panther (Seriously, who doesn't love the music in either the old or new versions? I'm a jazz nut, so maybe it's just me.)
10. Undecided (So many can be here, I just don't want to choose)

Just something that starts to annoy me more and more. Ever had the situation that you wanted to buy a movie score but the actual soundtrack had just a few rock/pop songs on it? I mean nice, it´s probably good music but not what I wanted. If I want to listen to rock then I´m going to buy the latest Warped Tour Compilation or something like that. Right now it´s a gruesome situation. The "Soundtrack" to Transformers contains nearly everything, except the score written by Steve Jablonsky. And I can´t believe that some resellers tag this Album with "OST" since it´s more like a LST (Licensed Soundtrack)...

I know what you mean... I mean, when I bought the Spider-Man 2 Soundtrack, it contained mostly rock songs that were inspired by the movie (well, all except "Vindicated" by Dashboard Confessional, the song played during the credits) It did have some of the score, but only the SpiderMan suite and the Dock Ock suite (both by Danny Elfman). I think the only times you can really find soundtracks with the actual score is for movies that are the type that wouldn't be appropriate to write rock songs for them. I mean, Lord of the Rings, as mainstream as it was, is an example of that.

And about the Transformers soundtrack, it hardly surprises me, since the movie itself was described by one critic as "one big product placement"

However, I'll list mine, even though I only have a few. The only ones I deemed good enough to buy:

Lord of the Rings 1&2 (I prefer 2, though)
Spider-Man 2
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (a nice compilation of medlies of classical music by Mozart, Bach, and some originally composed stuff. Most, if not all, have at least one part played by Yo-Yo Ma.)
School of Rock (heh, got me back in touch with some of the original rock bands!)

You thought that was bad, it was worse when I went out looking for the soundtrack to TMNT. LMAO!!! When I found it, I looked at the back and thought, "Errr....I can DOWNLOAD these songs. XD" Like Spiderman, as Swords mentioned, the only original song there was the one used for the ending credits...Ah well...at least I saved 15 bucks. ^^

Anway, Im not a very big fan of CDs, but I got these anyway...
Fox and the Hound 2
Balto
DragonHeart
TMNT
Lion King
and Lord of the Rings 1, 2, and 3

Well, I don't really listen to soundtracks all that much, but if I had to put down the ones I like the best, they would have to be:

Grease
Hairspray
Treasure Planet
The Lion King
Oliver and Company
Balto

And that's pretty much it...
