Right after her answer he paused. He was shocked. During his shock, he choked, "Uhhh... I remember my m-mates talking th-that they hated the pack of atire! They were always s-saying that they couldn't stand a-anyone from there. But now that I-I am talking to y-you... you seem very heartwarming and nice! My guess is what they are saying aren't t-t-true?" He started to think, I always shared that hatred with them, now i think that hatred is going away!

Sadie snorted. "Of course it isn't true! I've heard stuff about your pack too, but I don't beleive 'em now," she said.

Rio hesitated for another second... then he sputtered, "W-well, think about this... I-if we get c-caught talking to each other... w-we will get in serious t-trouble with our clan leaders. so how will we meet w-without getting caught?" He stopped. He continued to think. After thinking for a minute he finally said, "I got it!, we just need to find a hiding spot where we will meet to talk on occasions! You are nice, so we should talk every once in a while!"

Sadie blushed slightly. "Well thank you," she said. Her light eyes lit upon a cave near the border. "We can use that cave! It's so close to the border that no one would care about two different pack's scents in it!" she said.

Rio was happy. He said, "Great idea! so we will meet in there!" Then after he said that he heard footsteps heading their direction about 5000 feet away. He started to get cautious. He suddenly said, "Sorry, but I have to go. I hear our leaders footsteps heading this way! If we are caught we will get into deep trouble! So we will meet tomorrow afternoon after my hunt! I can't wait to talk to you then!"

"Ok," she said, her ears catching the footfalls too. She disappeared into the trees.

He waits for the footsteps to come near. He waits for a minute, the leader appears between 2 pine trees. Rio tells him "I was just sniffing around. I will head back to the clan quarters now." Then he runs off heading back to the quarters.

Sadie stepped quietly between the fiery coated trees, mmaking her way back to camp. She stalked and caught a large rabbit on her way back, so she would have an excuse for staying so long. SHe dropped it on the prey pile. A grey wolf approached her.

"Sadie!" he greeted warmly. His nose twitched as he caught a whiff of her scent. "You smell like the Shadow Clan," he said. narowing his amber eyes.

"I was hunting along the borders," she replied cooly, her heart secretly thudding.

He walked away, unconvinced.

When he arrived back to his quarters, eyes were all on him. They were coming near. One of them asked, "Why were you out for so long? and brought back NO food? What have you been doing for all this time?" Rio replies back with shock, "I-I was just looking for food. T-Today was just an off day... I-I promise t-to get some tomorrow."

Then they walked off.

The next day....

Sadie yawned, opening her clear blue eye. She opened the other one, blocks of sunlight streaming into her den. She got up, shaking off her black pelt, loosening scraps of moss and sending them fluttering into the ground. She padded lightly out of the den, still ridden with exhaustion.

Rio yawns, then limps out of his cave. He walks outside, to see his friends walking toward him.

They ask, "Hey Rio, do you want to play today? I think it would be fun to creep into The Pack of Aire's territory and steal their food!"

He responds back with shock, "Nah, I don't really want to do that. I feel like wandering the woods alone looking for extra food."

So then his friends walk away, then he dashes toward that cave.

He arrives at the cave, and waits for Sadie to arrive.

SAdie saw no one was awake and took the oppurtunity to escape from camp. She slunk to thecave, slipping inside. A grin lit her black face as she saw Rio.

"Hey Rio!" she greeted.

"Hey Sadie!" He greets back happily.

He sighs heavily, and says, "Today, when leaving my den, i ran into my friends. they said they wanted to steal food from your guy's camp. I sure do not want you to starve!"

"THey did? Well, they won't get far. The others will be waking up soon, they'll defend the camp, and send your pack members running home with their tails between their legs" she said, giving a sall smile a the thpught.

He gives a big sigh of relief and says, "That's good. I sure hope they don't steal anything!"

He thinks for a minute, then asks, "Hmm, What do your fellow friends say about my clan? I just want to know what they say about us."
