Rue took a slight step back as the large cat thing started growling at her. "I'm Rue," she said, staring at the blueish cat warily. "Who are you?"

"Setsuko," Setsuko replied nonchalantly. She noticed that this Rue seemed to be just slightly nervous. It took her a moment to realize that the girl was eying Jaci warily. "A...and this is Jaci, my Blue Lion. Don't worry, he's tame...unless I tell him not to be." She warned.

ooc--Jaci wasn't really "growling", it was more like a defensive rumble; too soft to be a growl. Just an FYI

"Nice to meet you Setsuko," Rue said, relaxing slightly at the fact that the blue lion named Jaci wasn't about to lunge at her.

"Erm....nice to meet you, too," Setsuko replied, a bit surprised at how easy that was. "Nice bird costume," She commented awkwardly, noticing the large, tawny wings protruding from Rue's back. Wow, those feathers are remarkably realistic, She though to herself. The only question that remains is, who makes a costume that big?

Rue blinked her mouth open. What bird costume? she wondered, then remembered. She pulled her wings in, folding them tightly against her back. "It's not a costume. They're um, real," she said, blushing furiously at the situation. SHe wasn't used to people without wings, she had never gotten the chance to meet them, and she found this awkward.

"Really?" Setsuko asked it awe. "That's pretty cool, I've never seen a winged human before. Can you fly?" She held her staff a bit tighter as she spoke, but the grip was unnoticeable.

"Yeah, I can," she said, highly aware of her warm tawny wings pressing into her back.

Setsuko grinned widely. "Sweet! So can I!" She exclaimed. Seeing Setsuko's expression, Jaci bounded around joyously, softly mewing his agreement.

"Really?" Rue asked, brightening considerably. "How?" she asked, wondering if she had wings. Rue was slightly confused by this, but happy to see someone outside her 'family' that could soar freely in the sky.

"I'm half Airbender," Setsuko explained. She twirled her staff, as she had seen her father do countless time before, and the planelike wings unfurled. When she stopped it, she held a glider with a shinny blue fabric material supported by wooden rods, similar to a wolfbat's wings. "We go take off now, if you wish," She said a bit challengingly.

"Ok," Rue said, instantly accepting the challenge with no hesitation. She unfurled her wings again, the tawny fetahers aligning, and took off into the air, leapin off the ground. She beat her wings fast and hard to stay aloft, smiling again, her deep chocolate colored eyes shining out pure joy.

Setsuko jumped off the ground with a blast of air, holding tight to her gilder. "Climb, Jaci!" She instructed. Heeding her orders, the Blue Lion bolted for the nearest tree, scrambling up it to the top to stay as close to Setsuko as possible...after all, Blue Lions could not fly! Setsuko rose above the trees, feeling the fresh wind in her face. She circled above Jaci's tree in a fairly wide loop, laughing.

Rue rose to beside Stesuko, amazed by the fact that she could fly, without wings, only a kite looking thing to hold her up and seperate her from the ground, breaking gravity's bonds on her. A wind blew back her sandy hair, and her tawny wings were glimmering softly in the moonlight.

"Whatcha looking at?" Setsuko asked curiously, noticing how Rue seemed to stare at her in awe. Jaci gazed up at both of them, wishing he wasn't do earthbound.

"I've never...seen someone fly, without wings, or a plane," she added. She looked at her own tawny wings as she said that, their feathes gleaming. Her raptor gaze turned back to Setsuko, her wings beating smoothly unconsiously as she did so.
