It said it took place in 1939 so I assume it was 1939 throughout the whole movie not just the beginning.

On Imbd it says it took place in 1939. (pretty reputable source)

Not only Imdb.. It said In ADGTH it's self Louisiana Bayou, 1939. So He mainly died like what.. 4-8 hours max after breaking out of prison.

It did,then he ends up in practically modern day San Francisco,with no explanation why...

How many years later after he went to Heaven? And now he looks younger? Wonder what they're feeding them up there.

Yeap those are the questions I always had in mind too. Charlie did look a bit older in first than second.Maybe time goes backwards in heaven adn that is why he is young?

Noting Walking Disasters earlier post, just from the environment in ADGTH2 and the series makes it that there was a 60-70 year difference between both movies. In my opinion, Charlie is much better young than older (as he was in the first movie) and how his personality changed with girl dogs (this is obviously how he gained interest in Sasha), thats one of the new characteristics I like.

You can obviously see this younger Charlie-looking liking from my avatar.

I agree. In Heaven, you're perfect. Perhaps Charlie's perfection was when he was a bit younger.

Another thing to recall is Charlie had been doing so fairly bad things to his body, drinking heavily and the like, which does speed up aging (well abusing your body in general does that). So maybe that's what he would've looked like if he hadn't gotten into that stuff.

And about there not being pups in heaven, there were in the third one. Which carries a rather sad subtext...

Judging from the vehicles I think around the 1900's or so...

He looked and acted like he was at least 6 or 7 years old. but the movie claims he's two. The movie gives his birthdate and the year the movie takes place.
